However if you like to use it for vacation, maybe gokarting, car driving, walking in the mountains and especially if you wish to edit and post from phone, without doing editing, it might draw a longer straw. Hi, both are fine for mtb - the stabilization will not be a problem. The Ace Pro has the advantage of the HDR Feature (no burnt out highlights when biking through a forest) - the Action 4 has the wider focal length, which is nice when mounted on a chest mount for POV
Hi, the Action 4 has a wider field of view - the Ace Pro the useful flip screen, a slightly better image quality in low light and the zoom feature might help you getting closer
sorry @insta360, but that is NOT an "action" camera with a non-removable lens cover and I am sure you will be happy for all the returned units where the either the flip screen or lens is broken and covered by your extended warranty... Nice innovations though for all people that like vlogging only!
Not sponsored but a pre-release camera... Ace Pro screen resolution should also be mentioned, along with the potential breaking point of the screen hinge. And the lens being non-replaceable should have lost it a point.
Not being able to replace the lens cover is an instant no go to me. Especially knowing that the review units RUclipsrs have received, DID have a removable lens cover! This ALONE kills the entire system for anyone doing actual sports. I don't want to have to wait 2 weeks to have a bit of protective glass replaced. Does it even have 10 bit?
well you have to readjust your price, or at the very least, bundle your selfie stick tripod. That is one of your best selling point, and gate keeping that accessory by making it harder and more expensive to obtain is not going to help your cause. i was ready to buy until I could not find your selfie stick for sale. lol.
Both of them are great for skiing - the Action 4 has the wider field of view, the Ace Pro the flip screen which ist great for filming yourself with a pole - and the HDR-Mode
Good video. Thanks for show both cams in the field. The DJI I would have to give it the win for the simple fact that it’s simple. The insta 360 has too much going on. I film with action 4 on my channel
One thing I didn't like seeing is blue hue snow with the DJI. But on the other hand, I don't like orange faces. Ace pro had white snow and good looking blue sky. But that face didn't look right. They should come together and make a camera for a perfect one 😂
Also, the camera doesn’t have the AI warp feature because the processor isn’t good enough and is entirely app based. You also have to pay for it after 3 months, but they dont put that in the ad
The ACE Pro footage looked better and sharper in all conditions including low light. The Ace pro has many advantages. Stabilization is one big advantage on Action pro but but overall the Ace pro does seem like a better overall package.
"... you can easily connect either camera to a microphone via USB-C"... is that true? I see the Ace Pro sells a microphone adapter. The Action 4 truly connects to almost anything, and can now wirelessly connect to the DJI Mic 2 via Bluetooth.
Do you mean whether you have to activate the camera, as with DJI? I don't think so, but I also used a pre-release version. However, you should update the camera via the app.
Best reviews on RUclips.. I’m curious, Will the full sensor shooting mode allow for use of ND filters with post stabilizing in app? Can I then film with the 180 rule during the day without a gimbal? I see Insta360 has Nd filters on the website but I see NO ONE has posted using them. I’d like to use nd filters at the motocross track for day time use with the 180 rule and not worry about a gimbal. Or is the HDR good enough where I shouldn’t worry? I’m torn between osmo action 4 and ace pro.
Great video! However, recently I have been stuck deciding between the Insta360 X3 and the DJI Osmo Action 4. They are both really great cameras but don't offer everything. The areas that one camera specializes in are a disadvantage for the other and vice versa. I like how the X3 provides ultimate versatility, an Apple watch app, GPS, and an amazing app but I am scared of getting it as I am going skiing and I have watched many videos that talk about how fragile the lenses are and how the protectors and guards ruins the image quality especially because I love the third person backpack mount. For the Action 4, I love its design, durability, and quality; everything about it is very good but I don't like how there is no app for the Apple watch that I could use as a remote control like the insta360 and GPS and speedometers can only be accessed using the GPS remote control unlike the X3(I might be wrong) which I cannot get as it does not ship to my country. Also, I heard and saw that it only exports in 1080p, now I don't know if this is correct but this would be a big factor for me as I really prefer the 4k quality export that insta360 X3 provides. Another thing is the field of view, it's great but not that wide especially to record my skiing experience through the mountains. I also had this concern about whether I could use the insta360 third-person backpack mount with the DJI Action 4 along with an adapter to fit the camera onto the mount but I am unsure if it will work. All in all, they are both really great cameras and for the price are really suitable (the Action 4 being a bit better as the adventure combo comes with 3 batteries and a selfie stick whereas the X3 comes with one battery that does not really have a long battery life which could be annoying for me when I am on the mountains and constantly returning to the resort between runs or charging it with a power bank) Could you please help me in choosing the best option for my situation and let me know if the third-person mount can be used with an adapter with the DJI Action 4 that is a great factor for me in deciding my camera for my upcoming trip? Thanks! PS: also if you can it would be great to post a video on how the Action 4 looks on the insta360 third-person mount (if it is compatible.)!
Hi, I used the backpack mount a lot and think it's not really suitable for the Action 4 - don't forget - with the Action 4 you will also see the small Pole wich is attached to the mount - and the distance between backpack and camera would not be big enough for the Action 4. The X3 has a significantly wider field of view. But, yes you can export X3 footage only in HD-Quality
@@MountMediaChannel Thank you for your reply, but I just thought of it, I don't know if it will work, but if I attach the Action 4 selfie stick to the backpack mount would that work? Also for the quality of export, I was asking about the export quality of Action 4 and I thought that the X3 can export in 4k and 5k also. Overall, I just need you to recommend which camera would be the best for me to get. Edit: if in the end I decide to get the X3, would it be ok if I use the waterproof housing case from insta360 and use it for skiing in order to protect the lens (because I’m scared of shattering them)or will that make the quality worse or change something in the footage?
awesome video brother love it. question: does the 360 ace pro record in mp4 file or the 360 file. I know the action 4 records in mp4. that's a big factor when editing with premiere pro.
Action 4 has the ability to add and remove filters which I do like the only thing I do like about the insta360 is pause during the video which they took away from the Pocket 3 for some reason or am I mistaken? The other question I have is "do you own either camera?" Ever decision in this world is done on some sort of bias. The camera I have in my hand is better than any camera on the market because that one I own. Thanks for posting...
Well I disagree with regards to the image quality of the Ace Pro being better as far as the very video provided here goes. If you look at 0:40 for example and pause the video you can see that the building as well as the mountains in the background with all the trees seem much sharper and clearer on the Action 4. Or look at 0:49 , same thing with the mountain in the background at the top, as well as the snow on the ground at the bottom, which seem to have much more detail on the Action 4. At 0:56 with the Ace Pro all the pattern on the ground seem more washed out and not so sharp, while the Action 4 is very clear and sharp there. Plus with all of those shots the colors on the Action 4 seem more natural. So although at 3:13 I can agree with the Ace Pro having the better image there and 4:35 the background seems better with the Ace Pro as well. With the very video content provided here I see many shots that are clearly better on the Action 4. It seems to be more of a 50/50 chance and depends on each shot but there seem to be more better shots for the Action 4 overall. Yes, the Ace Pro has UHDII ("8K") but it is very limited. And also yes, the dynamic range (4:59) seems better. However, overall more of the recordings of the Action 4 look better than on the Ace Pro from what I have seen here. (Plus I don't care for all the AI stuff and app at all. Those things look like nothing but toys to me, that are funny to try out once and that's it. I handle the video on my desktop anyway, with proper tools, not a silly phone touchscreen app.) On paper you might think the Ace Pro has to be better but with the video seen here I can't help but disagree, in practice the Action 4 seems better to me. Also my impression is that the Ace Pro seems more like a vlogging cam whereas the Action 4 seems more like a proper action cam in the true meaning of the word. Contrary to the conlusion reached here I'd give more points to the Action 4 for a few of the sections. After watching this I can't help but feel that the Action 4 does better overall, particularly to record some actual action. I've been considering which camera to buy but after seeing this video and with the Action 4 costing a whole 150 Euro less right now for me, I think I'll go with the Action 4. No thanks to the Ace Pro.
See i find your face to be better looking when it's orangy, and i would've choosen that look while editing a video for a RUclips channel so how to know which colour profile will majority of the people prefer? As my choice seems to be different than the majority and it'll effect the reach of the video too right?
Yes, unfortunately there is no 10bit or log - but there is a RAW mode for photos - by the way, the lens cover is now replaced free of charge in the first year if it is damaged.
It is absolutely impossible to find the right camera...1000 reviews and no reviewer seems to tell the right story, is focussed on how to behave like a clown or is sponsored...I will.try again in March or so😂😂😂 ...pfff
There's no perfect action cam. Choose the one that meet your expectations or budget. Forget about Go Pro. Either Action 4 or Ace Pro, you won't go wrong. Action 4 adventure pack is value for money. If you are a vloger then Ace Pro will suit you more & have the budget.

sorry @insta360, but that is NOT an "action" camera with a non-removable lens cover and I am sure you will be happy for all the returned units where the either the flip screen or lens is broken and covered by your extended warranty...
Nice innovations though for all people that like vlogging only!
Not sponsored but a pre-release camera... Ace Pro screen resolution should also be mentioned, along with the potential breaking point of the screen hinge. And the lens being non-replaceable should have lost it a point.
all shots background looks much more detailed with action 4 against insta. Insta blurs all image details that are further than 50 meters.
Does it even have 10 bit?
i don't think so, no 10bit no log.
And he's not done 🙌 We're stoked with Ace's performance against DJI. Hope this'll show people that we're serious about innovating action cameras!
amazing!!!!
Sueño con una cámara de su marca 🙏💪🔥🔥
Is the lens hydrophobic?
Is the lens cover removable/replaceable? I’m seeing mixed answers to this question. Thanks 🙏
well you have to readjust your price, or at the very least, bundle your selfie stick tripod. That is one of your best selling point, and gate keeping that accessory by making it harder and more expensive to obtain is not going to help your cause.
i was ready to buy until I could not find your selfie stick for sale. lol.
Which of them is better for skiing?
Both of them are great for skiing - the Action 4 has the wider field of view, the Ace Pro the flip screen which ist great for filming yourself with a pole - and the HDR-Mode
Good video. Thanks for show both cams in the field. The DJI I would have to give it the win for the simple fact that it’s simple. The insta 360 has too much going on. I film with action 4 on my channel
Can you use free frame while on pure video mode?
No
Where is this filmed? So beautiful!
Looks like dolomites alps in italy..i cant tell
I like the 360 but the lens is a deal ender, went through that with the Hero 8.
Thank you for the video. I like to record at night. What is your suggestion for low light? insta look better i guess. Do you agree
Yes - for low light the Ace Pro is the better choice
One thing I didn't like seeing is blue hue snow with the DJI. But on the other hand, I don't like orange faces. Ace pro had white snow and good looking blue sky. But that face didn't look right. They should come together and make a camera for a perfect one 😂
Amazing comparison as always! Can you tell me if I heard correctly that also with the ace pro you can remove the self stick? Thanks!
Yes
@@MountMediaChannel great to know! if you would make a comparison about this feature will be awesome!
no 10bit no log profile, worse stabilization and the camera is a winner? 🤡
I have and love an insta360 X3 but this camera is a dud. Comparisons and reviews like this guy and David manning make me not trust them at all
Bro I didn’t understand please can you explain
Also, the camera doesn’t have the AI warp feature because the processor isn’t good enough and is entirely app based. You also have to pay for it after 3 months, but they dont put that in the ad
The ACE Pro footage looked better and sharper in all conditions including low light. The Ace pro has many advantages. Stabilization is one big advantage on Action pro but but overall the Ace pro does seem like a better overall package.
Salty dji fanboy 😂
Nope... I have seen so many footages, its really good but didn't beat DJI Action 4. But Yes it's definetly at 2nd place now and go pro now is 3rd
The image quality is infintely better on the Ace Pro...
"... you can easily connect either camera to a microphone via USB-C"... is that true? I see the Ace Pro sells a microphone adapter. The Action 4 truly connects to almost anything, and can now wirelessly connect to the DJI Mic 2 via Bluetooth.
Is the accompanying cell phone app mandatory out of box? Can you take this camera brand new out of box and record with it without the cell phone app?
Hey pal! Great vid.
Can you use manual settings with hdr activated?
So if i set to 100iso in low light to get better quality depending on light?
Ace pro
Yes
The AI warp feature is cool af!
One of Action 4 advantages - it supports wireless DJI Mic 2 connection which is very handy
Did i missed is there manual control of shutterspeed iso on the ace pro?
Yes you can set the exposure and iso completely manually
Sealed or replaceable batteries? Large battery options (battery grip)? 1,5 hours is hardly enough to film an all day adventure.
Both have replaceable batteries
@@MountMediaChannel Thanks
for recording I prefer to see the DJI action 4 because the FoV is wider. if ACE pro is not wide enough.
awesome video brother love it. question: does the 360 ace pro record in mp4 file or the 360 file. I know the action 4 records in mp4. that's a big factor when editing with premiere pro.
mp4
Can you zoom with the Ace Pro while recording?
Yes
Action 4 has the ability to add and remove filters which I do like the only thing I do like about the insta360 is pause during the video which they took away from the Pocket 3 for some reason or am I mistaken? The other question I have is "do you own either camera?" Ever decision in this world is done on some sort of bias. The camera I have in my hand is better than any camera on the market because that one I own. Thanks for posting...
What about battery type and battery life? Guessing the embargo to discuss that hasn't been lifted yet.
No one is talking about that, I’m curious to know.
Very fair comparison and comment. Thanks
I handle the video on my desktop anyway, with proper tools, not a silly phone touchscreen app.)
On paper you might think the Ace Pro has to be better but with the video seen here I can't help but disagree, in practice the Action 4 seems better to me.
12:51 you can also remove the selfie stick of Action 4 directly in the app. no need to upload to the cloud service now.
I like the big flip screen. convenient.
Thanks
Which of these two is a better camera?
See i find your face to be better looking when it's orangy, and i would've choosen that look while editing a video for a RUclips channel so how to know which colour profile will majority of the people prefer? As my choice seems to be different than the majority and it'll effect the reach of the video too right?
Much more user friendly than Action 4.
AWESOME INFO DUDE... 😊
Thank you for the comparison.
Is this Merano?
yes
Incredible scenery! Where is this, exactly?
Italy - South Tyrol
no log, no 10bit, no RAW photo, if it had these two features I could take the higher price tag
Bigger sensor, log profile, natural colours, less bulky are few of them 😊
Sensor isn't bigger
Fantastic! I will be buying an Ace Pro. Thanks for the info!
Which is more beter because i want to buy but i cannot decide which
There's no perfect action cam. Choose the one that meet your expectations or budget. Forget about Go Pro. Either Action 4 or Ace Pro, you won't go wrong. Action 4 adventure pack is value for money. If you are a vloger then Ace Pro will suit you more & have the budget.
more beter? lol
Go Ace Pro for quality, go DJI if you don't have enough money
Wow, cant beleive the low light shot is that good.
For me, HDR with only 8-bit color depth is pseudo HDR. Only 256 instead of 1024 brightness levels per color channel. No Smart TV switches to HDR mode.
For you, you don't understand HDR. noted
Great video
The most helpful comparision video!
Hey nice comparison! is this in Merano?
Yes
@@MountMediaChannel Already snow at the ski centers! Nice!
Your and Dc Rainmaker's reviews are the ones I've been waiting on. Thanks for getting on this.
