I hate when people say something is “… the greatest ever…” as in “For me, this has to be the greatest motorcycle song ever written”…. but, then again….. Kelly and band does a great job, but to hear Richard Thompson play it on an acoustic guitar is amazing! Come down Red Molly….
My favorite version of this song. Particularly enjoy Willie's vocal drone on "riiiiide". Don't know what it is about that, but it just makes the song come home so to speak. Cheers, Braun Family!
Finds a lantern. Genie appears and informs me he/she will grant me 3 wishes. Without a pause, I blurt out, " I want to see Reckless Kelly perform 1952 Vincent Black Lightning live, I want to cook a perfect brisket, and i don't ever want another cavity in my teeth."
I have listened to this song for many years and covered by many people but I have to say RK adds a little drive and energy to the song. I listen to it at least once a day to start my day.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE: how this showcases the progression of the song over the years 🥰, how much Joe Miller brought to this group!!!!, the way Nazz plays with the shotgun sounds. There is going to come a night when I hear RK play this song live for the last time. I probably won’t even know it when it’s happening… hopefully it’s no time soon. ❤
I was lucky enough to see It live again last year in Bloomington, Ill with The Mexicutioner playing. My personal favorite part was David Abeyta giving me his guitar pick.
Wait, WHAT?!?! In the end, James is laying there, shotgun blast to the chest, not much left, running out of road and running out of breath, about to lose the two most dearest things to him in life - there’s nothing like a Vincent ‘52 or a girl in black leather and red hair….. …..and THIS makes you HAPPY?!?!?! jk my friend 😉 👍🏻
Very well executed!!! I’ve seen Richard Thompson a couple times. This is one of the best songs he wrote, in my opinion. What a band you’ll have! How fun to find this!
“Reckless Kelly Was Here” is one of the best live albums ever, and this tune is the crowning jewel. So good.
Thank you! Hopefully we get to see reckless once more before it's too late.
They're the best ❤
I do not disagree with any part of that claim. Not that it would matter if I did.
I doubt it. Sorry but better than The Who live at Leeds, or Frampton lives, The Eagles. I could keep going. 😂❤
Why cant i listen to this on spotify
Great video! This is the kind of music we need!

And David tearing up the guitar solo. That man is a master of his art.
Got introduced to this song by Red Kelly... then had the opportunity to hear Richard Thompson play this, Just a GREAT song!!!!
Id sell my what little remains of my soul for a studio version. Absolutely beautiful.

You can keep my teeth... I'd want a 1952 Vincent black lightning... and Molly
You would not be disappointed
Wish I was there! Best cover of this song I’ve heard.
One of my fave songs. This is a great version.

Good 👍 💞💕✌
Very good. But it just makes Richard’s guitar skills seem all the more impressive. Xxx
One of the most emotional songs ever written, sung with zero emotion. Good job? Please stop performing.
wow, i didn't realize you could ruin this song....
