Hey Ross, I rarely (never) comment on RUclips videos however I stumbled across your channel and simply wanted to say how much I appreciate your content. So much so that I've become a subscriber and am working my way through your bulletproofguitar courses, filling in a lot of gaps in my knowledge. I love how clear everything (in your videos and your course) is described including the accurate tabs, but most of all I appreciate how you put everything you're teaching in context so that the licks become something to learn from and incorporate into your playing rather than just something to learn and forget about. Keep doing what you're doing.
Support this guy, he's a great teacher!

This is one really practical reason for learning music theory. Not to become crazy knowledgable but to be able to communicate with other musicians. That's the crux here, being able to communicate, either verbally or reading the written notes/tab so that you can save time and understand just what it is that another musician (they're not all guitarists) is trying to say succinctly, logically and efficiently. It's really not all that hard at the end of the day. Much easier than a lot of things that we try to play at least. Great lesson, Ross.

Really appreciate the fact that you're open about the limits of your own technical ability. The fact is we cannot be good at all things all the time. It just isn't realistic or even desirable.

Great stuff Ross, a very insightful video indeed!
As an avid viewer of Mateus' videos on Instagram and RUclips, I was wondering if, in a future video, you could perhaps talk about his melodic choices (i.e. why he played the licks that he did) during this short bit of improvisation during a show he did with Tori Kelly:
