Im playing SOC right now for the first time with the following mods: -ZRP -Absolute Nature -Absolute Structures -ORP Weapon Overhaul -Player Camera height at 0.97 Working very well and its super fun.
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I was looking for, simple mods that enhance the vanilla experience. Finished the whole trilogy 3 times and got interested in modding but wasn't satisfied by how much for example the gunslinger mod changes the experience. I'm so glad that youtube recommended this video to me!
Thanks for sharing, mate! Right on with playing the OGs first before "modding a mod" like what we do with Anomaly or Gamma. Modding the OGs for improved visuals, bug fixes, balancing, and QoL improves them massively. It also makes you appreciate the game better when you finally do get into Anomaly, Gamma, and EFP.
My first playthru of the series I ran ShoC with ZRP and both CS and CoP vanilla and it was amazing. A few years later I am now playing the series with ShoC as the same config but CS and CoP with the ABR mod. I really enjoyed this mod for CS as it leans into the games strong points while staying pretty close to the original. I cant speak to CoP much with ABR bc i jsut started it
I'm playing Clear Sky with the ABR mod as my first playthrough, simply for the accuracy fix :) The mod is amazing, the only thing I'm not crazy about is the weight removal. It takes the survival and inventory management out of the game and It makes me a bit sad. But since I'm really just running through the game to get to Call of Pripyat, I guess I can just enjoy it the way the ABR is meant to be
Awesome thanks for sharing, I recently played through the entitiry of the trilogy using the complete mod as mentioned in your previous videos. Being stalker 2 has been delayed should give me enough time replay through using these for a much more vanilla experience.
Thanks Bro! I just finished the three original games completely vanilla, now i am going to try this! I like anomaly and GAMMA but it cant give me the same feeling as the originals
@@jarredspectreI’ve put more time into SOC than I have anomaly, or gamma, combined. My favourite thing about the game is it’s setting, and I wanted to experience what it was like as originally designed. They were an absolute blast!
Gamma and anomaly aren't even stalker IMO. The original trilogy carefully sprinkled in enough survival mechanics to create tension and encourage player preparation but not so many so that the player became overwhelmed and bogged down in resource gathering. Anomaly, and particularly gamma completely miss this point and turn the game into yet another open-world-survival-craft game in stalker clothing
Bro try Vanilla Twist, it's an SoC mod that turns Stalker like any other modern games without getting a complete overhaul (and some gameplay improvements too)
I just had an epiphany - what if Marked One really ISN'T Strelok, but just experiencing a manic episode - him being Strelok is a grandiose delusion, so is the wish granter, and he doesn't need to sleep for days! It all fits!
im gonna do a 3 game marthon sometime before s2 comes out, I haven't played the base games in quite some time, anomaly mod packs have been it so it will be somewhat of a fresh re-experience

Hi bro. I was looking for videos on stalker as I will play it for first time in 2023. This is the best channel so far for same. Subscribed. Pls let me know if mods suggested in this video will drastically change the vanilla experience or they improve overall experience by removing bugs but yet maintain vanilla experience. Would you recommend these mods for first time playthrough?
Yes these are what I would recommend for a first playthrough. My previous videos probably made the game too easy but this one keeps things in balance with the original intent from the developers.
Hi Jarred I just wanted to know if in your experience, is Reshade safe, as in no viruses or malware can be caught from it? Thank you in advance man. Also great video by the way.
@@jarredspectre did it on accident, thought it was just something like a remaster. But I don't regret it, the beginning was a teensy bit confusing tho. Not having the pda tutorial and such, at least the artifacts and looting were explained somewhat. I think it could be something for people that don't get to run ShoC at all or the shadows are fecked beyond repair. (had the shadow problem and no known fix worked) Somehow some newer windows machines completely fuck up and people are still figuring out to fix these problems. For a whole lot not even this compatibility mode works
I really like vanilla look and feeling/vibes, but I only get 1 problem with vanilla over modded version its feeling when you run/jump. Running feel too fast for me like I got some rocket speed boots on and jumps feel too high. If there was mod to make my running speed slower and jumps lower it would be perfect. Btw did you try S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow Of Chernobyl Update. Its heavyly moded SoC but it tries to be vanilla.
There is instructions on either each download page or in the download itself. I used to do step by step instructional videos but found I got asked a ton of questions from people. Its very important when modding to learn how to do it yourself. Stalker games are very simple and a great place to start.

hey, i very much like the fov switcher, but it makes your camera clip through the walls in some areas, its a little thing but for some reason things like these make me feel like i have an advantage, also the actor shadow buggs out a lot, what preset did you use and have you found a fix for these issues?
@@jarredspectre by the viewmodel for the binoculars i got that you use the 85 fov which checks out. its maybe because i use the eye height fix in zrp which brings marked ones eyes further up because in vanilla it seems like youre a miget, if you have the time could you tell me what do you use in zrp?
@@jarredspectre I'd very much appreciate that! I'm unfamiliar with Reshade, but if there's a way for you to provide your custom preset for download I would prize that as well. Your advice seems to provide a very palatable vanilla experience.
For the story no but there are aspects that are broken that will make it very challenging. I would recommend playing the first game Shadow of Chernobyl first with the basic mods in this video or if you want something modernised similar to gunslinger then go for Radiophobia 3.
