Great video. I’m just annoyed the big RUclipsrs that have gotten this camera for free don’t talk about the overheating and barely mention the battery life.
@@mnz3211 its a battery test i also did a review on that when i talk mostly about what it can do the thing is that usually I divide my videos in sub vategories to go i details about he product most youtubers just broefly talk amd movenon to other cameras
The camera itself should be used as a quck session camera for short recordings max 25 min abd then put into charger , u can get extended recordinf times with the multu use charging case
Thanks for the video. Device gets too hot while use and I see it reached 57 degree Celsius temperature within 5 mins. I too performed some tests and here are my results. Pro mode - 1440p 25Fps - battery lasted 23 mins 31 secs. Each video recorded was of 5 mins with 5 mins of cooling break (13.2GB size) and Normal video 1440p 25fps- Battery lasted 29 mins 42 secs , each video of 10 mins with 5 mins cooling break. (7.56GB size).
@@Tomasz.Nowacki Is that 13.5GB is for the 5 minutes recording or the 23 mins 31 secs recording? Please drop your answer I am confused to buy 32 GB or 64GB
Yea, this camera is good as a secondary camera to get b roll shots or have light set up for hands free pov , mount it alto tight hard to reach spaces etc but on its own the battery life is a weak spot and needs that case to to have longer recording times. Nevetheles that small size and 26 gram weight is really something interesting because of what you can do with it :)
this was a very helpful video, I just got one today. I got it to work as sports hat camera and for quick recording aside from my mobile phone. I think they make a good pair. thank you!
Let me add to this. *I used this while BIKING* It’s able to record the full 30 min limit on Pro mode 30fps without overheating in the shell case (Need the case for this long recording) There’s no heat limitation as I started the camera right back up after 30 min Obviously wind is provided by biking. Inside the Shell case Temperature 28c 80 humidity night time
Great video, thanks ! Love videos where you see actual "timing" data. At 6:20 you say it can record for 110 minutes officially but isn't it 150 minutes per the specs ? Having said that, I'm seeing 3x recharging with the case (and a few percent left) so 4x23 minutes in basic mode is a bit less than 100 minutes, so pretty "close" to 110.
Thank you, Tomasz, for this clear testing information. The Go 2, despite the overheating after a short period, is still going to meet my hiking needs of short clips here and there. Your suggestion at the end is very useful. Thanks.
Yes if you record shorter clips and use the charging case it can last quite long its only getti g worse if you co tinuously record then either its gonna overheat or quickly run out of battery and needs to be charged again in the case
Great information! I always wanted to know how the battery life is affected by all that stuff. The camera is worthless for long periods of time but great for short bursts or quick short videos which I use it for all the time it’s great.
Are all the Insta360 GO original accessories (like the batter case) compatible with the Insta360 GO 2 camera? I lost my go2 battery case but I can buy the orig Go case for cheap. Thanks
This is really great video. No BS, straight information... and truthful..somehow im disappointed that i didnt see this video before buying even using the app is not good experience.... though i understand that this device is mostly use for reel/short.. or trick shoots...
Exactly its mostly.meant for short clips , rechatge and shoot again if used outaide the charging case, with the case you can record much longer but its a different experience
What do you think will be the battery cycle life of it? What happens after a year, two, three of using it when the battery starts to get old? It's so sad they didn't make it replaceable.
Its really hard to say but i guess its gonna be waker and weaker no its 23 or 24 min max in basic video mode so soon gonna be 20 min etc i guess a removable battery is a must have nowadays
If usednin the charging case you can have longer recording time yes but then overheating may be an issue , depends how long you record for if short clips no worries if 10 min and up it might be a problem
Its a good secondary camera for short clips when you record withbit outside the case , if you want to have extended record time you need the case but as you seen in my video oberheating can occur mych fasyer as the cameranis constantly charging
Could you test also the time shift and time lapse modes? I'm thinking the former will last the same 15-20 minutes or so as video shooting. But would time lapse last longer?
Im not exactly sure if you can do that from a phone app you can do that 100% from PC thats for sure. I will check if you can do from the app and let you know.
Yeah, this makes it official. I'm NOT buying this camera. I wanted to use it for motovlogging, but the camera sounds like it'll die mid-recording and I wouldn't notice. Or walking around an amusement park for my vacation with it magnetized to the pendent, but again, wouldn't end up recording the whole thing. So the batterylife does kill it for me. I just won't want to glue a gopro mount to my helmet and end up doing it wrong and need both a new helmet AND mount...
You were checking the temperature from the front and the heat dissipation of the camera is through the back side. And and overall table of the information you collected at the end would have been great
Thank you for your feedback , yeah good point i should have checked the temperature from the back indeed its the hottest area. Time table you say ? Hmm ok i will try to include that in my upcoming video :)

They did improve on the storage space as they sell 32 gb or 64 gb version. Its just that the camera is so tiny that on its own when used without a charging case it can record around 23 min of video so for some people its gonna be a deciding factor.
Cant wait to show you what crazy place i found to use this camera.for my b-roll :)

How many time can you recharge the camera with a full charged case ?
Did you test the full hd 1080p ? How long does it take?
No i havent , only the higjest settings
