In this lecture, Dr. Hills explains the whole process of gluconeogenesis from pyruvate, then from lactate, glucogenic amino acids and glycerol.
Gluconeogenesis and Glycolysis have many enzymes in common and the exceptions are enzymes that catalyze the irreversible steps from pyruvate to glucose and these are:
    1. Pyruvate carboxylase.
    2. Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK).
    3. Fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase.
    4. Glucose-6-phosphatase.
We would also learn the clinical correlates associated with the enzyme deficiencies in this pathway including the Von Gierke's disease.
