Please compare the Limited and Platinum especially from a driving perspective and how the engine performs under load. Toyota is not giving an option for the hybrid limited option with some of the bells and whistles that it is giving on the hybrid max platinum like the digital rear view mirror but honestly I am very interested to know if if the hybrid engine is sluggish when compared to the hybrid max. I love the fuel economy of the hybrid but the power should also be available especially with the body being heavier than the normal highlander.
Just got one (GH Hybrid Max Limited) a few days ago and already took a decent road trip, family loved it, me too. Only complaint is there is an issue with the actual fuel capacity Toyota is advertising 17.2 gallons, and about 450ish range. You can only fill it about 10 gallons near empty and range is about 370ish. Do some internet searches before you buy if this is a concern, and it should be since it means less range and more trips to the gas station. Also, it’s a major feature and Toyota has not remedied it or even addressed it yet, but many hybrid owners are experiencing this. No issues with a loud whiny engine as some have assumed it would be, in fact, it’s very quiet and when I needed to punch it, it punched! It’s perfect for a family vehicle, and everyday normal driving use. It’s not a race car, but I bet I can smoke a lot out there on the roads, at least for a short distance if were so inclined. I’ve already had to do some evasive maneuvers and really punch it to get passed some wild drivers on the road and it handled very well. It is a little clunky on shifting I’ve noticed on the lower speeds and take off. Mpgs keep going up more in drive it, at about 1K miles I’m about at 24.5mpgs. For us, the decision to have the extra space in 2nd and third row seating was crucial and so happy with it. Also, pretty much all the major features I want on the GH are here, and on a vehicle about 10k to 30k more for luxury class you can get the same, but not that space. Is this vehicle luxury, no, but it’s comfortable, has great utility and technology wise, has everything we want . It also has an amazing lane keeping assist, they’ve really improved this feature!
My wife and I wanted the Lexus RX 350 SUV instead of even the higher models but problem is Lexus doesn’t want to add more seats which is why I’ve been driving the Toyota Highlander since 2004.
Honda and Toyotas are both great vehicles however the Pilot looks just as good and has very good features, excellent reliability, and high resale like the Toyota Highlander and it cost less. It’s a better value in my opinion.

Hi, thank you for the good overview! If you have a chance, please pass a message to Toyota designers and engineers, they are so behind the industry in electronic features. The whole industry now offers ambient light inside, big and fancy touch-screens. No one anymore provides cars with such old round fog lamps that Toyota has on a front grill. Check out what Chinese and Germanise brands offers and copy their features for interior and exterior (meaning, lighting system, etc). I’m a big fan of Toyota and Highlander in particular.I want to buy this new Grand Highlander. But the fact that it’s so behind the industry with a very outdated interior features holds me from buying it. Thank you! A true fan of Toyota.
I like the GH more for the bigger screen, slightly more interior space, and hybrid options. I like the Pilot more for the NA V6, slightly lower price in all trims, and 8 seats on all trims (except TrailSport). The Pilot wins for me though due to availability and little to no markups. My Honda dealer is only charging $1k markup on even the top end Pilot. The Toyota dealer is charging $5k-$10k markups on the Grand Highlander, especially on Hybrid versions. Also availability is nonexistent right now, basically just waitlists.
Let's face it Toyota is the most dependable vehicle and holds it market value like no other automobile. On all levels ..even premium brand Lexis...who comes close??..That's my pitch....I'll promote this brand for life...who needs a spokeman?
It’s not. What’s losing customers is they aren’t adding any new amenities to justify the rising cost. They are actually removing options, like the dvd entertainment system for the rear two rows is no longer available. But the price just keeps going up. I have two pilots and love them both, want a new one but cannot justify the cost of it.
It's most likely going to cost a lot, and the wait will be forever once it's released. Probably won't be able to get your hands on one until 2nd quarter of 2024.
Most auto makers only show the highest trim of their new cars most of the time, if you want an XLE review you will have to wait until this becomes available to buy
The only thing keeping me from getting this is that it's not offroad capable, at this time. If they came out with a trim that is off road capable (or even somewhat like an inch higher off the ground etc) then that would be perfect

I have a 2017 Honda pilot, 100k miles. I drove it length and breadth of America. If you exclude the standard maintenance (Oil changes, tire roations, new tires)...I paid $ZERO$ so far.
I'm hunting for a new car that can replace my Pilot.
2024 Honda Pilot is my bench mark. Is there anything that can beat this one in ALL aspects?
I woild love to have one thats a cool SuV and toyota alsawy build quality in all of theor products
You ever wonder why you never see two of these together? It’s because.. THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE !!!
Beautifully color and I think the normal highlander sales might go down a bit cause they can upgrade to a grand highlander
That might be their plan maybe slowly get rid of the highlander and replace with grand
I would choose the Grand Highlander for sureee over the Honda Pilot
I'm all set on the facial recognition
That part though. I'm not a fan of that feature and hopefully they will have a way to disable it or options to omit it altogether
Hey it's federal government approved.
That car is SO nice!!! We have the Toyota Highlander, platinum all-wheel-drive hybrid!! It is the best car! That seams like the platinum now! Lol
Is it true it’s 4 cylinder now?
Wich color is it?
I am wondering that who is going to choose a 2024 Hyundai Palisade over the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander
Can you do a review of the palisade vs grand highlander please?
How much?
Can you take the seats off like the honda pilot
But when is it available? I've been asking for some time...
On May 30th we will be able to share that and everything else you want to know! But until then, we are under embargo...
That thing is massive
What color is that?
Engine alone beats Honda
Lol. Obviously not.
Pilot is cheaper and it is available now.. this you can dream about buying one
What cost of this thing?
What is the gas tank size of the platinum trim level?
Honda still only offering tiny infotainment screens is losing customers.
So much better than the pilot!
Can you review the 8 seat XLE model?
Most auto makers only show the highest trim of their new cars most of the time, if you want an XLE review you will have to wait until this becomes available to buy

I LOVE the grand highlander
Grand highlander all day
The only thing keeping me from getting this is that it's not offroad capable, at this time. If they came out with a trim that is off road capable (or even somewhat like an inch higher off the ground etc) then that would be perfect
Pilot looks great except for the 3rd row windows.
Non turbo is still the best for family SUV... pilot has 3.5 V6 👍
"I see what you did there Toyota." It's a redesigned minivan... and I like it.
