  • Travelling with minimal toiletries for extended periods of time is only for guys, right? WRONG! Women can do it too, and, speaking from my personal experience, it's not very hard to do.
    In this video, I show you my travel toiletry bag, and what I pack, and talk about the essentials I use on my long-term trips.
    The content of this dop kit usually lasts me around three months.
    ☀️ Products shown in this video☀️
    As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
    Sea to Summit Hanging Toiletry kit (I use Size S): amzn.to/3e9hMjZ
    Dr. Bronners soap (I usually travel with the Baby version because I have sensitive skin, but it doesn’t smell like anything): amzn.to/3wFeWtD
    Solid Shampoo: amzn.to/3R3tRG5
    Dry Oil - I usually use the “Trockenöl” from the Brand Cattier, which is available in Germany.
    Soap Pouch (I combine them with a suction cup hanger): amzn.to/3dV1OKf:
    Travel Toothbrush: amzn.to/3e1B0rT
    Matador Toiletry BOTTLE (not the biggest fan though): amzn.to/3RjYDu1
    Matador soap bag: amzn.to/3Rg10Ou
    Toothpaste Tablets (I use a German brand called Denttabs, but these seem to be similar): amzn.to/3cyY9Sb
    Dr. Bronners Magic Balm: amzn.to/3R1lrzb

    Great tips for alternatives to liquids. Here is another for you that could replace your oil, lotion and conditioner, you can buy coconut oil in a tube. It does not count as a liquid because at room temperature it is basically a solid. Coconut oil is great for hair, skin, cuticles. I use it everyday as my moisturizer after my shower. The one I use is by Conscious Coconut and the tubes are 100ml. Happy travels!!

      @@madda5133 coconut oil melts at 26 degrees celsius. I geusse you can run it under warm water for a minute. (Or hold it in a pocket, close to your bodym if you are backpacking. But be careful it will stain the shirt if it leaks.

    Sisal can also develop mold if it doesn’t dry quickly enough (in the shower and/or humid countries), so those plastic soap bags are definitely better. Great idea to carry a suction hook! As an aside, that reminded me that from years of solo business travel, I carry a rubber doorstop in my bag and shove it under the outside door whenever I’m there - amazing little gadget that provides a lot of safety from potential intruders!

    • @MaggiFuchs

My therapist recommended this after i got microdermabrasion therapy to remove acne scars and had to be protected extra from sun following spring and summer. Use different sunscreen for my body. This will not get oily and is great for face. Have had acne for years every month when period was coming up and mixed oil skin

    You can just use 'soap bags' in a thin fabric - silk or nylon. Last longer and not plastic. Can usually score cheap at a $ store as well.
    Have you tried crystal deodorants? I tend to sweat a lot but I find it works fine as long as I'm not being excessively active in really hot weather and what's great about them is that you can apply to ALL areas where you tend to sweat when it's hot - it's mild enough for that 😊
    Thanks for the tip about how to pack powders - I've started using bicarb soda for my hair etc and have been a little concerned how I'd get that thru customs.
    And I LOVED the tip about the tooth tablets. (I use teeth charcoal too but I've been really concerned about spilling it when I'm traveling cos it's so fine - what's your experience of this?).
    I carry tiny bottles of essential oil (usually vanilla) lasts better than perfume and you use less

    • @MaggiFuchs
      @MaggiFuchs  2 года назад +4

      Hi Susie! Thanks for your nice comment, and sorry for my late reply. :) Regarding the charcoal… I also had problems with spilling in the past. What works for me are those little black containers with a screw top that they give you at Lush when you get a free sample. They have been spill proof so far for me. But I always open and close them over a sink ,and tap on top a few times before I open them. :)

    Maggie - I’m sure you’ve heard of Weleda skin food since it’s a German brand. I like to travel with that - really good multipurpose cream. I like to mix it with a lighter cream and use it on my face as well.

      That’s excellent, Debbie! Unfortunately all those items for traveling are often a huge waste and a lot of packaging, but I think that at least solid toiletries go in the right direction - and hopefully we will see a lot more of those in the future. :)

      Check out Etsy. If you can't find them someone can custom make them for you? The closest thing I can think of might be extra small produce bags for ginger or garlic.

    What a fun and interesting video! I love how fun you had filming this 😂 I love shampoo and soap bars and I also use a conditioner bar for my hair. They work great, both in everyday life and while traveling. Everything multipurpose is great for traveling! For females I would say that a diva cup is much better than tampons. Sometimes I see packing videos where people pack like 100 tampons with them and I think it's a bit funny since a dive cup is much better and takes up less space 🙈

    • @MaggiFuchs
      @MaggiFuchs  3 года назад +4

      Hi Milla! Thanks for your nice comment. :-)
      Which conditioner bar do you use? I tried one from Lush once, but it melted in hot climate and then I had to throw it away.
      I totally agree about the female hygiene part... ;-) But honestly, I wish I could love menstrual cups as much as I would like to love them. I tried two different brands so far, but I couldn't make them work for me (yet). But I am not giving up! I would never travel with a year supply of tampons though. When those days of the months arrive while I am traveling, I just purchase whatever they have locally. That worked quite well for me so far.

    • @MillaExplores

      @@MaggiFuchs I have tried one from lush but didn't like it. Currently I use one from a Finnish brand called Famo and I love their products but not sure if they deliver outside of Finland. 😊 Very understandable! It definitely takes some time getting used to it and exactly, you don't need to carry a year worth of tampons haha. 😅

    I didn't notice anything for feminine hygiene. I'm new to your channel so I might have missed something in another video. Do you have suggestions for feminine hygiene?
    I'm also curious what you would do if you need eye, nose, or ear care... Drops, sprays, etc. I have pretty bad allergies and my "toiletry kit" usually includes a nasal rinse, a nasal spray, eye drops, lid wipes, and sometimes ear drops. It can take up a lot of space. 😬
    I'm also curious about what medications you might take with you to travel for pain relief, stomach issues, and other things that might pop up.

    • @MaggiFuchs
      @MaggiFuchs  Год назад +1

      For long term travel, I usually restock once I need it while traveling. I tried all the “sustainable solutions” for feminine hygiene like cups or period panties, but they just don’t work for me and traveling (e.g. I have no way to properly sanitize them). So I just buy whatever I need when I need it. I have not been in a place yet where I could not buy some basic sanitary things like pads or tampons.
      And allergies are definitely not fun. I guess am “lucky” because mine are more food related, so I need less drops and more pills… 😅 More carry on friends… 🙈 And there I usually bring enough to cover a few days, and then I restock on the go.

      They are also called „Trockenöl“, which translates as dry oil. I guess that‘s because you don‘t feel oily for hours after you applied it. My favorite one is the Cattier Dry Oil, when you google that you could find the ingredients. Maybe then you could try to find a similar oil?
