Project Zomboid is an open-world isometric video game in development by British and Canadian independent developer The Indie Stone. The game is set in the post-apocalyptic, zombie-infested exclusion zone of the fictional Knox Country, Kentucky, where the player is challenged to survive for as long as possible before inevitably dying.

Kevin is finally experiencing what his sims go through on a daily basis
about time I guess 😁 but wait where's the basement?
Revenge!!
@@UtopssAKAPJ next major update im pretty sure he'll be able to experience that reality too.
He can get the full Kevin sims experience.
@@MissNulle2000 hope so 😈 is this how it feels to be a Kevin
😂 OP wins the comments section on this video
You know it's gonna be good when Kevin plays Project Zomboid with a house on fire
you already know
Kevin should do a real life version
It's always good when Kevin.
I know I shouldn't complain because any Project Zomboid day is a good day, but I do miss The Man2, everyday. I hope he's ok.
The Man2 is a legend. Some say if you leave jellybeans at an abandoned gas station in Louisville, he brings you corpses.
@@TheHutchy01 But you'll never see him there...because he can't stick around too long without becoming extremely thirsty
I hope The Man2's story will continue
We know it’s gonna be good when the first frame is literally just Kevin surrounded by a ring of fire
🎵 Fire, fire, fire, ring of fire 🎶
And it burns, burns, burns… The ring of fire… The ring of fire.
He literally fell into a ring of fire
Seeing Kevin's characters in a game after he hasn't played in a while is always a treat, the whiplash of being reminded of the beautiful abominations existence never gets old
Project Z useful tip: if you need to escape a massive horde in a city/suburb do the following. Walk on the side of a building with zombies chasing in tow. Round the corner of the building where the zombies can no longer see you. Stop, wait 1 second, and then move away from that position. The reason you stop is to allow the ai to register the last place the zombies saw you. That way the zombies will move round the corner, and so long as you are out of sight, they will stop at your last known position(around that corner) and u will have escaped. If you hadn’t waited that 1 second, some zombies will go round the corner and stop, others will want to go through the building to get u, some others will try to get you on the other side of the building, and some may still be registered as “seeing you”. Why this happens is complicated, but it has to do with how the zombie AI is coded, and might be changed in the future with the game’s improvements. But for now, I hope this helps.
This is super helpful. I think everyone knows to break line of sight, but I didn't realize that there was AI stuff going on as well, thanks!
also if you're running through woods, if you use "walk to" instead of controlling your character you're less likely to get scratched because it will pick the best path to the area you selected instead of you wildly running through bushes!
does this not only work with zombie intellegance / memory set to low? I thought on very bad day they have their intel and population set to be quite high by default, but no opening doors still thank god
Seeing a new Zomboid video on Kevin's channel gives me the same feeling as Christmas morning when you open a present and got the thing you'd been wanting all year, just pure happiness
Santa did well this time around, in all the ways.
"Stop being on fire near me. I hate when people do that"😂😂
Kevin never would have died so much if he was playing as his The man 2 character now he was a zombie killing genius.
I discovered Kevin's channel 3 weeks ago, his content is very good, I'm addicted, but it's a good addiction. This Zomboid videos are Top Tier!
Are you aware of our Lord and Savior Jim Pickens?

Welcome to the cult dear 🎉
Welcome, friend.
Welcome to the cul- community😅
Zombie apocalypse and Kevin is like "accessorize"
classic Kevin
Me and my mates have been playing it and we spent a good two hours on a simple mission, steal a piano, a sofa and a jukebox. We barely have a farm.
@@TheHutchy01 😁 nice
@@TheHutchy01 solid priorities
@@TheHutchy01 But now for the real question- did you get the piano, sofa, and jukebox? It's been almost a year...
Yeah, we had some paintings and statues as well, because y'know we had the van
Playing PZ is great, but whats better is watching Kevin play it, he always makes it so chaotic and I love it
I love how you can tell that Kevin really loves this game, it makes it more fun to watch
It is trivially true that personal enjoynent should be an irrelevant factor for a professional entertainer.
Kevo is basically the chaos in the CD DA challenge personified, so this is perfectly fitting 🤣
9:01 The irony in this is that Kevin could’ve poured out the bleach and filled up the empty bottle to drink water out of.
And while it seemed like Kev got backed into a corner at 12:30, he could’ve actually hopped through the burnt wall the same way he would with a fence.
a full health crowbar and kevin avoids the best weapon for a useful CDDA, just shows how much of a tactical genius kevin is
That Bleach container was begging to be refilled with drinking water
When you see a Project Zomboid video from Kevin, you just know it's gonna be a good time.
I was LITERALLY watching your entire project Zomboid list yesterday and thought "I wish he'd do more, this is so entertaining!"
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how happy kevin seems in his videos! I know a few months ago he didn't know if he was gonna stay on RUclips or not but I'm so glad he's still uploading! No matter what happens Kev always do what makes you happy!
Kevin couldn't possibly get a real job. What would the channel be called then? Looking for work kevin?
@@mattd789he could work at a call centre and keep the name lol
Kevin gives me hope in the survival of the zombie species.
Yes, hope, exactly what we need, Kevin, will you be my survival teacher?
Notice me senpai, notice me!!!!
Its always a good time when Kevin uploads a Zomboid video
As someone who's put hundreds of hours into runs of the CDDA challenge and sacrificed hundreds of characters to the flames, here's a few supplemental tips for anyone wanting to try it out themselves:
1. Kev's right on the money with heading to the farmhouse up north, that's a fantastic place to rest and recuperate as well as get some initial tools, but don't head there immediately; first priorities are bandaging your groin and getting footwear without holes in it. If you get these two things, you're basically golden, and you can head just a little bit up from the starter house to the big field, and start walking all the zombies in a big circle. Hypothermia will leave you at 1% health but won't kill you outright, so you need to make sure your groin is bandaged and that you have footwear so you don't get scratches on your feet. Even if you're at max exhaustion and tiredness, you will ALWAYS be able to outpace zombies at the regular speed (remember not to turn too sharply, or the zombies right behind you will be able to get a bite)! If you get at least one flaming zombie in that initial batch, you can just start yelling and drawing all the nearby zombies into your train, and burn all the nearby zombies to death. This step usually takes around 5-10 minutes if you want to do this, but it's a great investment because not all the zombies will turn to ash, so you can wander around and get the clothing and any other useful items on the zombies; this usually sets me up so I have warm enough clothing to avoid catching a cold again right off the bat.
2. The cold you start with is actually the worst thing about this challenge, sneezing and drawing nearby zombies which completely eliminates hiding is no joke-- however, the cold doesn't kick in immediately upon loading a game! If you're fast, this fact can allow you to slip into the garage next door or the house across the road without being followed if you go right away. Once the cold has fully kicked in, though, make sure to get as much warm clothing as you can; be aware that holes in your clothing will reduce its insulation, so check the temperature -> insulation tab in your character's menu to see what parts of your body are causing you to be cold, and repair or get new clothing to cover that area.
3. You're starting in the colder months, which means forageables are a lot more limited. You won't be able to find the usual mushrooms and other herbs, so you're stuck with a small pool of berries. The good thing is that these are always predetermined to be poisonous or edible depending on which thing it is! Winterberries and beautyberries are always edible, and hollyberries are always poisonous. It's not much, but it's a good supplement so you don't die of starvation.
4. Don't bother washing your bandages unless you're going to be nomadic, infection won't kill you in basegame so you can always just keep your initial dirty bandage on. Conserving and managing your water supply is critical if you're planning on staying in one place and don't have a large body of water nearby or the tools to purify it.
5. Remember that the start of this challenge is very rng dependent, and the basegame is still in early access. There are plenty of runs where you just start off surrounded by fire, with no safe path to get out or way to extinguish yourself (in basegame, if you don't have a bottle of water or an extinguisher on you, you're supposed to run and hope the fire puts you out. That's it, that's all you can do), and you burn to death in the first ten seconds. There's no way around it, even if you have thousands of hours in pz.
6. If you're unhappy with the way the basegame implements certain things or want to switch it up a little, consider installing some mods like Stop, Drop 'n Roll to deal with the fire, Snow is Water to help capturing snowfall to purify and drink, Essential Crafting to be able to force canned food open (among many other great vanilla-friendly additions), and Change Sandbox Options if you want to modify some of the default CDDA settings for your run. There's a really vibrant modding community with plenty of ways to tailor your playstyle, so have fun with it and good luck!
I remember the first time I played Project Zomboid I was super high and accidentally selected this mode and it turned me off the game for weeks because I thought it was the standart beginning of the game and i could not survive for more than five minutes... but then I watched your videos and when I saw the one you did with Jacksepticeye I gave the game a second chance and now i'm hooked, lol
To everyone who questions how a man ends up into this situation in an apocalypse, a drunk man can achieve anything. Also its kevin.
Kevin got me into this game and I can relate to his fright and also the zombie conga lines. Please keep up the series and great video!
The hardest challenge is called "A really CD DA" named after the actual hardest zombie game out there, Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead or CDDA for short. Its probably not graphic-y enough for the channel but Its just a fun fact you might wanna know :D Keep it up!
I know a trick when I see one griefer jesus...
Honestly, most of the challenge of playing CDDA is... Well, trying to figure out what the fuck the controls are.
14:32 As Kevin is 100% Irish, his heart knew that he had to use the green one 🥹🥹🥹
Also... Kevin truly is an fashion genius!
Wow, was not expecting a cameo from the Irish Santa. Good job Kevin
my brother in christ, kevin simply staying alive for longer than 2 seconds in project zomboid is a hard challenge in its self, what is THIS
you can't just ice cream in microwave yourself out out this challenge !!!
I’ve never been able to last more than 10 mins in this game 😂
Same
Haha its a really hard game.if you are struggling alot play sandbox mode and make it a little easier on yourself, best way to learn
Yet that implies you've played it more than once. When a game can keep killing you, but you still go back to it, you know its fun.
@@latetotheparty7139 it’s how I play tf2 lol
I’m new to fps but dang it
🤨
10:32 yes, the ultimate defensive technique! Falling to the ground, while being eaten by zombies!
You laugh now, but once the zombie apocalyse comes you will find that playing dead is the best technique to not be eaten by the zombies. Why, it may even allow you to blend in and become one of them. Kevin is just ahead of the curve, thats all. The game cant keep up.
But all the zombies will know you’re alive because all dead people become zombies.
These project zomboid videos are always hilarious! Thank you so much for uploading Kevin!
Right? Anytime he makes conga line jokes never fails to make me smile
"I can't believe santa clause is slain :c"
Says the man who literally captured two santas, made them fight each other and then forced the winner to eat the other santa clause.
*Kevin:* My perks are fast healer, dexterous, and smoker.
The PZ community approves 👍
While this isnt a game I would play personally, I could watch Kevin play this for hours
We all love to think that if there is a zombie apocalypse it would play out for us like in the walking dead : saints and sinners but in reality it would be more like project zomboid
I love how he knows that burbon disinfects wounds, but he doesn't know that you can pour out bleach in its bottle and replace it with drinkable water
I don’t blame him, that would be terrible advice in real life. I would assume it’s the same in a survival game
@DeathnoteBB it works last I played but yeah lol do that for real and you'll get some spicy water at best.
@Arkvoodle Of The Sacred Crotch wasn't the point of the comment. With most other aspects, such as generators indoors killing you, it'd be odd to think indiestone skipped out on *that* way to potentially die.
If you rinse it thoroughly, it's actually safe to do. Just gotta be sure to rinse it THOROUGHLY.
@@PsychOsmosis It’s not safe at all because the plastic absorbs some bleach and that can leech back into the water, or something. Just don’t use a bleach bottle, it’s not exactly difficult to not do.
I love project zomboid. Kevin is a apocalyptic genius.
It’s been a really rough day, and coming home to see a project zomboid video from Kevin really made me happy
An alternative title: Green Santa Clause looking for a can opener for 23 minutes.
We need a 100 day challenge, with sprinters, max pop settings and Kevin just running round in a Santa suit using a rolling pin. That would be peak, PEAK content right there.
To crush Kevin's hopes even more; even if he found a car that had a key and wasn't broken, the gas station needs electricity for the pumps to work, so he couldn't refuel there anyway lol
Why is Kevin only able to make progress playing as a woman?
🤣🤣🤣
Always entertaining when Kevin plays Project Zomboid 😂
It's now my canon that Kevin totally owns a Tommy Vercetti suit that he's saving specifically for a zombie apocalypse. And I don't even question the logic of that.
20:27 I think this location needs a new name, now that Ben is away. Im in for "CallMeCabin"
Kevin not picking up the crowbar hurt me in a very special way
"Beef jerky on the ground next to the bloody zombie!" - are we sure that it's BEEF jerky?
YES ZOMBOID (love the zomboid playthroughs Kevin, these vids are def my comfort vids)
Runs into bar that's getting crowded by zeds, finds alcohol, and instead of grabbing it and running; decides to start disinfecting rags. in the dark. surrounded. not knowing the exit.
I miss your PZ streams with Max so much :( And we def need more PZ videos
Kind of crazy to think how my friend and I had our longest zomboid run today. We suffered through a forest but in the end found such a good house to make our safehouse. I have a love hate relationship with this game lmao
Project zomboid and Kevin is a lovestory i hope never ends
Just as I was watching his older PZ videos, I'm blessed with anothet upload, after all Kevin is a survival genius and a timing genius.
I played Project Zomboid for the first time and my character that lasted the longest had EVERY negative trait and no positives, oddly enough. Despite being slow and blind snd deaf and everything, he lasted the longest. I only did it as a masochistic joke and it worked!
Not feeling well today, so I'm binging your recent videos. Love these ones!
I love it when you play this game Kevin, not only is it one of my favorite games, it’s my favorite creator!
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR SO LONG TO GET ANOTHER PROJECT ZOMBOID VIDEO FROM YOU
We need a 100 days project zomboid from you, even if its not the same character the whole way through
1 day is 1 hour.
Project Zomboid and crazy CallMeKevin challenges get along like a house on fire!
Which is ironic since Kevin isnt exactly getting along with the houses on fire he starts in.
tbh i would love to see you do occasional let's plays on certain games, you're really fun to watch kev :)
been going through a zomboid phase and watching all of kevin's zomboid videos and what are the odds he posts a new one im so glad though
love the project Zomboid content! probably my fav videos to watch of yours!
I'm currently doing this challenge as well. If you get a curtain then you can take out the glass and bandage before leaving the house. Then once you leave the house go up and right and stay at the farm. (I use foraging and never leave the farm, my current strategy)
"And then we're going to go aaaaall the way up to this pharmacy, which is very very far away"
Of course it's far, why do you think they call it a FARmacy, it's not like they call it a closemacy
Yes more project zomboid!!
You kevin are a military genius.
A Project Zomboid day is always a good day.
kevin my dog just died like 10 mins ago but a new project zomboid vid from you helps cheer me up a bit
once again i am reminded of how cracked AA is at this game
Since I saw you play this I've been addicted to watching videos of people playing this game. Love your videos and your music 😁👍
The RUclipsr with the best project zomboid content!!
Thanks for your videos kevin.
Im going through a super hard time rn and your videos make me feel much better. :)
I love this game and the impossibility to open canned foods without the one designated tool.
A good call to show the map. Makes it easier to follow if one hasn't played the game. Thanks for the fun video!
LOVE when you play zomboid also patch 42 is going to be INSANE new crafting animals npcs
Better processing method as well, huge fps gains.
Not for me, i play CDDA, the better game
2:49
Kevin's Milkshakes bring all the boys to the yard.
Hey there Kevin, you actually don’t need to remove the glass from your groin until you have bandages to bandage it as removing the glass causes you to bleed out much faster
Watching Kevin playing project zombiod is like Christmas every time
Project zomboid is an amazing game! I love your Project Zomboid videos. Thank you so much Kevin!
Loving the content Kevin!
The hardest challenge has been waiting for Kevin videos every other day..
even though in 2016 we were waiting 6 months :’)
going to sleep in the zombie apocalypse with the front door just wiiiiide open. Peak Kevin. 15/10
I FUGGIN LOVE your PZ videos.
My friends and I play PZ and it's such a fun game. We managed to survive an entire year in game on a server (multiple characters, just a continuous run) and I love how nature starts to overtake stuff and how the seasons change the challenges.
When we get bored we will play a multiplayer game and outrun zombies and play hide and seek murder tag lol. We spawn in a city and tell him which city, and he drives over in a car honking and we have to tell him when we can hear the honks and he will come and try to hunt us down and we gotta try to run n hide or mess him up instead lol it's a really fun time
was watching your project zomboid stream with max when i got the notif! i could watch you play this game all day, it's so fun with you.
I've been waiting for this glorious Project Zomboid upload. Thank you. T^T
We need more project zomboid. Period
And it burns, burns, burns, the house of fire, the house of fire
If only The Man 2 came to save Kevins character. That would be a crossover we needed.
I hope The Man 2 is doing ok, we need another episode on his perilous thirsty adventures
I just discovered this series last night. Truly delighted to see this upload today! ❤
Hey! I loved the video can’t wait for another one! Also the reason your wounds keep getting infected is because you need to keep replacing the bandage, if you have a dirty bandage on for too long it will get infected.
Wait I've never seen fog in this before! Looks so pretty
I enjoy seeing Kevin playing this game
I will ALWAYS be 100% down for watching Kevin play Project Zomboid. These are, by far, my favorite videos
I just played a bunch of this game and Kev on the hardest mode still lasts longer than I did lol
1) Rest more often.
2) Remove broken glass from windows. Even if you don't plan on jumping through right then, you may have to jump through eventually so it's better to make it safe because you might not have time to do it later.
3) Rest more often.
4) Right-click and Walk To to walk safe-ish through the woods and lower the chance of hurting yourself on branches.
5) Rest more often.
Youre the reason i bought this game and i have over 2k hours into it now lol. thanks Kev

Wooo we love the project zomboid videos :D
"I'm coughing and I'm on fire" me having a summer cold in Texas. 😂
Kevin knows he cannot fight because he is too tired his only option in a life or death situation would be a gun but he doesn’t take any of the pistols or shotguns he finds and instead goes to the grocery store with a hatchet to try to wipe out a horde. Military Genius
This channel greatly assisted me in getting back to my love for project zomboid
