    Watching the way he trains and the kind of drills they’re doing it’s exactly how he plays in games. I recently discovered this kid and love watching him play. He’s got great hands and sometimes I’m like “how was he able to saucer that so lightly” or stuff like that but seeing this it’s clear he’s got amazing training... but he’s got that natural gift of seeing the ice that you can’t teach... he has a great attitude.... I love this kid lol it’s fun seeing players not dump and chase EVERY time... he doesn’t panic with the puck but he’s also not over confident in a negative way.... excited to see how his season goes

    The NHL is beyond the NFL in prioritizing real game effectiveness over size. The NFL is still stuck on durability being contingent on size when the injury data does not support it. The NFL also is still stuck on QB height although Russell Wilson, Baker Mayfield opened up minds for a player like Murray going number one. Think about this: Wayne Gretzky was small sized playing during the violent brutal era of NHL hockey and played for 20 years...like 20 years ago. Minds open slowly obviously.

    Played till I was 21 when I finished in Junior A. That was in 2001. Hockey equipment and fees to play on elite teams is way more expensive now. Back in my day my parents spent tons of money because we had to travel a hour and a half to every team I played for, because we lived in the country side. Anyone in the comments saying that becoming an elite hockey player doesn’t require a huge investment financially and sacrificing your time in junior high and high school social life doesn’t have a clue what they are talking about.

      Kakko will be better out of the gate, but Hughes projects to be a better player long term. He’s clearly more skilled, and from what I’ve seen has better hockey IQ. He just needs to work on his size and shot and he’ll be an elite NHL player in no time.

    • @abot4750
      @abot4750 5 лет назад +5

      Flames_Fan_32 His size isn’t an issue, but you’re 100 percent right about him having to improve his shot. However, you have to admit Hughes, in the long run, will be a better player.

    • @flames_fan_328
      @flames_fan_328 5 лет назад +1

      A Bot Yes Hughes clearly projects to be a better player than Kakko. And when I say size I’m not saying he has to grow 3 inches or put on 20 pounds. I’m just saying that in the World Juniors he got pushed around a lot, and that’s gonna get worse in the NHL. He has to adjust to the physicality of the NHL, while Kakko is already there.

    You guys do realize Jack Hughes is only 17 right. I didn't stop growing until I was 23. I hear people don't completely stop growing until 25, or at least some. I grew a little over an inch from 20 to 22. He could easily grow another inch or two by the time he's done growing. It is genetic though I suppose. My tallest brother stopped growing at 17 or 18. He's still growing. He just needs to eat more and workout. Simple. I get he needs endurance but I did not see him do heavy weight at all. He needs to gain size badly asap.

    • @zacht1376
      @zacht1376 5 лет назад

      I still dont get it. Yes majority of hockey workouts consist of legs and moving quick on skates, but even then ive seen more jacked 13 year old basketball players, hell i was toned more than hughes at 12 and all i did was pushups. Hockey players need more muscle, it honestly does not hurt.
