My current Mustang is an 04 GT which will be gifted to my youngest son in about 5 years. I am hoping to replace it with an 04 Mach 1. My wife laughs at me for being in love with these New Edge Mustangs, and asks why I don’t want something newer. I just fell in love with these cars when I was young, and they have remained my favorite Mustangs. Still debating on what color I want, but I would be happy with any of them. Still awesome cars.

Amazing video. I always wondered why the Mach i owned a few years ago was the only Mach I’ve ever seen without the aluminum pedals and silver touches in the interior.
Great info!!! I have never seen a Non upgrade Mach and had no idea they came that way! So questions, how much was the option? And why would anyone want a Mach without it? As i was thinking during the vid I thought that a stereo option makes sense like on the Bullitt because some could care less about the music while driving one of these cars and the owner could save a few bucks. But the interior is one of the reasons the Mach was so special. So then i wondered how Many Machs were just bumped out by Ford at random and how many were special ordered? I bet every special order Mach had the interior upgrade unless the guy had to have a Mach but money was tight and it was very expensive so again the cost comes into play? In my mind it was more of a hassle for ford to mess with the interior than just make Mach interior standard after all Ford was cutting back at that time for s197 production. The mach 1000 would have made much more sense as an option imo. What ford should have offered on the Machs, Bullitts etc was a 373 gear option. I always enjoy the Mach content since they are my absolute favorite new edge! 👍👍 Have a Blessed Easter Brother!!
Happy Easter! The interior upgrade package was a $345 option. After what you saw I had to go through to change mine, I would have gladly paid that. I understand that when people buy a new car they may look at the additional options and decide they don’t need it.
To boil it all down on the GT's, it's the Premium package vs. the Deluxe package, for headrests, pedals, and locks, no real big deal but nice to have, my daily driver got the premium, never owned a MACH 1 interesting all the variations, amazing!
Don't forget the premium polished wheels (99-01 Cobra wheels) and the silver radio and shifter bezels too... my '04 daily is a premium package too... only options it didn't come with were the Mach 1000 sound system and, curiously enough, traction control lol
I really want a terminator but its kinda out of my price range so I'm really considering a mach 1 and doing the cobra front bumper and cobra trunk spoiler. Think it looks great like that. Then eventually supercharging it with forged pistons like the cobra
Great video Justin! Just started my hunt for a Mach 1 so this will help. I noticed that some of the images on this video it looks like some of the rear wheels are deeper than the front, and some wheels are the same front & rear. Was this an option or is this an aftermarket wheel?

Hey Justin my 03 GT convertible has the IUP from the factory but I would like to ad the chrome trim around the gauge cluster like the Mach 1's had do you know where I could get one that's a great video love watching them I hope someday to have a 04 competition orange Mach 1 to sit beside my zinc yellow 03 GT convertible thanks again
Thats awesome. I do see them on facebook sale pages like New edge 99-04 mustang parts page and sometimes on ebay. the can be pricy. I see them in wrecking yards too lie a pick a part or pick n pull. Some V6 cars had them too. You may be better off getting yours painted at a nice body shop or somewhere that has a nice booth and can do it right.

No, but I did get a really nice set from a low mile Mach 1 that the guy was redoing all the seats in. I’ve also gotten a couple more sets over the years

I bought a grey ‘03 with the interior upgrade and manual. I ended up selling it 2 years later from something more practical. It was fun but cost me a lot in tickets. I drove the crap out of it.
So question I recently purchased a 2004 mach 1 in black with the upgraded interior package And it’s a manual. What would the break down be of how many of my car were made? Also my best friend has a 2004 DSG mach 1 also with 5 speed but his car does not have the interior upgrade. I don’t recall you mention the numbers on the grey 04s? How many of his trim were made as well?
The Grey 04's are mentioned at 9:28 His car was 1 of 101 non IUP and 1/ 788 manuals. Unfortunately the breakdown sheet did not have the statistics of what numbers of IUP/Non IUP cars were in conjunction to their transmission option. Maybe somewhere deeper in ford the numbers are known. I wanted to know that as well but the info wasn't broken down that deep on the sheet.

I would keep an eye out for people selling GT seats that came with them. I’ve seen many over the years and even some torn up seats that had them on there that you could buy because the headrests usually never have issues
It's kind of similar with the Fourth gen Camaro firebird On the front and back of the T tops. There's some little clips that go there for the water will not go in the car. A lot of the camaros and firebirds are missing that. And when you ask people that where are the T top clips? They just say that they don't know what that is. And another thing that goes missing on the Camaro and firebird t-top shades
I recently purchased one in Shadow Grey and I noticed a few key things. It had 40th Anniversary badges, two tone seats and a hood scoop delete. I am mostly baffled by the abscence of a hood scoop. Was that an option or a modification done by the previous owner?
I'm looking at a shadow gray 03 with an automatic and the interior upgrade. Did you know that the automatics came with a cast crank and a 5800 rpm redline while the manuals came with forged internals and a higher redline.
Yes I did know that. I mention it in some of my videos. The reason ford did that was to keep the cost down on the automatic cars to offset the cost of the automatic so they could sell the manuals and automatics for close to the same price. It’s a plus too because the automatic isn’t designed to spin that fast so the forged crank isn’t even needed on an auto anyway.
Wait a minute.... I thought the croc 1’s 😜 had those rear window Oliver’s and a black plastic section between the tail lights and behind the license plate. Guess all I saw was someone’s after market upgrades. 🤦🏽♂️

The headrest were the most important part to me. The seats look dumb without them. I added the headrests to my red Mach 1 but not the silver radio bezel. The black was fine for me.

Why do the Mach 1's have that hideous front license plate indent on the front bumper? Every single one of these cars I've seen has it. Did Ford not make any of them with a normal front bumper? I hate it when a car has that on the front bumper. I was going to buy one of these cars but I can't find even 1 of them without a front license plate indent. Do they not exist because that just seems insane to me. I see Terminators all the time with no indent in the front bumper.

Has about 105k miles on it but looks like really good condition. Do you think it's worth that much? I really don't know much about mustang's but I think the mach 1 is really cool.

I have a silver auto GT as a daily driver. It’s a nice car to cruise and take it easy in. The auto Mach 1 would be pretty cool.

I bought them from Afs. They are usually out of stock. Latemodelrestoration makes similar ones now
Hi Justin, what brand are the staggered wheels you have on your blue car? And are they 17" or 18". I'd like an 18" staggered set for mine.
Mine are AFS 17x10.5 and I prefer them because the pony center cap fits them

It depends on how much boost it’s running. Low boost it should be just fine. Dealers always ask a lot. Might be able to get it for less

What rims you have on the blue mach 1?
They are stock front and rear are AFS widened Mach 1 rear wheels. 17x10.5
I am thinking of selling my 04 Yellow Mach with 34k miles and buying a 2013 Boss.. any thought from the people. Should I keep the 04 Mach or sell?

The front bumper on the mach 1 is the exact same as all 99-04 V6, GT, and mach 1. They all have that indent.
