What a rabbit hole I just went down. Was listening to Streets of Siam on another RUclips video and one of the few comments was explaining how Dennis Alexio was a real champion (something I didn't know). Unfortunately his life seemed to take a nose dive at the tail end of his career. In 2017 he was sentenced to 15 years for money laundering and other things. No idea why he would do this at first. He could have made an honest living after his own career still related to the sport but I think he was only ever interested in fighting and nothing else. When he realised age had caught up to him and he could no longer compete at the level he wanted, it sent him into a downward spiral. He will be over 70 when finally released. I don't know much of the justice system but maybe good behavior can get him out in his late 60s and he can spend time coaching and training the up and comers.

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the brutal combination from 3:22-3:29? For any average viewer, they see it as a barrage of violent strikes, but it does take A LOT of practice and experience to pull it off effortlessly. Alexio kept throwing those mean hooks to the body, and once his opponent began to cover his body and leaned forward just a little bit from the ropes, Alexio threw a clean roundhouse right to the head, knocking him out cold. He ain’t called the Terminator just because he’s a powerful striker, as he also is an intelligent striker that knows exactly where an opening is and when to strike

My homeboy Dennis. His father was my history teacher and brother the singer in Papa Roach. I use to spot Dennis up at Lake Berryessa twenty miles out of town and he had ran there backwards so as to build up that spinning back kick. Always had our backs at any parties in Vacaville.

Hey Dennis if you see this thank you for talking to me and my buddy about 15 years ago on the phone. We talked to you for 1/2 hour. We randomly found your cell phone number online. Big fan of your movies and kickboxing career. The fact that you were stoked we called you and kept talking to us is something I’ll never forget. I believe you were living In Hawaii at the time. I’m sure you do not remember the call, but you were still so stoked to hear from some fans. Your the best! Hope life is treating you good!

Fun fact: the voice Dennis has in "kickboxer" wasn't his own; someone else's was used instead. He stated this in an interveiw I read a while back. Apparently his accent wasn't 'American' enough or something. So there you go!!!

    • @dopedrums

You're wrong and this is old news. They decided to dub him because his high pitched voice didn't match his physical appearance and he couldn't deliver his lines in a professional matter so they had to dub him with a more masculine voice. There are videos out there without the dubbing and it's.. hilarious.

I would of liked to see him fight Patrick Smith who did well in the UFC.
