    Hey, format nerd/enjoyer here. I find a good format gets me much more involved in a tournament. As someone with not much free time, knowing the impact of a result of a match is where I get my joy, because I know I wont be able to set aside time for the entire group stages. Knowing that a teams place may place them into a matchup with x team from the other group is exciting to think about! Was hoping we might get some Swiss format but alas, maybe next time. Been loving that format, and the 4th vs 5th matchups were gonna get to determine the stronger group will be fun too.

    • @breikio
      @breikio 26 дней назад

      So tournaments should use a format which cant even clarify who exactly are #1, #2, #3, etc. seeds going into playoffs, teams getting lucky easier opponents, no clear power seeding into playoffs, essentially compromising the playoffs quality and gives you worse dota as teams dont know who they are facing until the last moment, because people cant set aside time to watch? Group stages purpose is to understand where teams stand and every games matters for power ranking - playoffs is where you have the high stakes games.

    Hey. I've had a complete change in life. I was sick of the corporate grind, started doing hobby woodworking which got me into a managerial manufacturing job and I'm slowly transitioning to what will be full time woodworking from home. Hey Cap and SVG. Do organizations have people who are constantly scouting for top level pubstars or potential new players? The topson arc showed someone pays attention to the ladder, but for me when OG announced that new team years ago with bzm and atf most of us ‘casual’ viewers had 0 clue who they were. Thank you for the content!

      The thing is that these guys are top MMR players, meaning they play against all of these players and know them. Of course after that a coach can analyze replays and evaluate the player, but they already know the top 200 players of each region for sure.

    It’s never too late to go back for an education. There are a lot of good resources and online programs these days. I’m 31 years old and have a wife and baby, and I’m working on a second degree in a different field, and just got a new job related to it. There are some fields that are much harder than others to get into late (like medicine, because of the length of the process, and the cost), but you can do it. You find time for what’s important to you. I work full time, and I come home and do chores and play with and care for the baby until she goes to sleep, and then I spend ~2 hours on schoolwork.

    on the topic of pursue pro vs pursue college, a lot of games already have this but collegiate esports is definitely a thing that dota could (and should) invest into. the tier 2/3 scene of dota is completely unsupported which is a real shame, although there are some cool casual leagues like ad2l/md2l that are mmr restricted

    I love Avery's reasoning process. Usually something along the lines of: Yeah Falcons would beat Spirit, 100%. 100%. Like you get Amar owning on one of his heroes, and yeah sure Collapse is a best too, and those high stakes situations bring out the best in Spirit. I wouldn't want to be the one going up against Yatoro there. So in conclusion it's pretty obvious that Spirit would win, no question.

    actually, playing on lower mmr is just lower quality games, y'know, it's less enjoyable. practically of course it's easier. but when i imagine games i had when i was 3k mmr lower than now (and i kept losing), it was just not enjoyable, so i couldn't really play in that environment, nobody listens, all play solo, griefers, etc. e.g. when i play with lower rated party, it's not enjoyable to win, bc all that happens in a game is a circus. but when i play in solo mm no parties of my mmr, it's much more enjoyable to win, when the game is more quality, everybody does his stuff. also every mmr bracket has its own micro/macro meta because of what your teammates pick and do in games and which heroes are more fun or more difficult to execute. but i'm not that high mmr ofc, so i might be wrong, but i feel that's my experience over different brackets. immortal players usually remember only immortal games, when these things are usually corrected already and they're in another dimension

      the core of gpk/nightfall/save since ti10 is losing to spirit everytime it matters the most, they have horrible winrate against liquid and falcons so idk about that, in this season they have lost to liquid/falcons everytime they faced them in the playoffs, here is the scenario: betboom is top 3 becasue they met tundra/xtreme/gg then in the lower bracket gg/xtreme beats falcons + spirit and they got to fight betboom in the final and betboom wins

    Thanks for the this video cap and svg, I have question and I will be happy if both of you would discuss it.
    I am one of those usless MF you talked about in here that simply want to work in esport scene especially Dota2, just a little bit of my background, right now im in my 4th year of university majioring in international business mangement, like I said I want to be able to contribute to the dota2 proscene.
    To put it short and simple, I want to try creating another environment where those that atleast want to give a shot as being a pro can be given a chance, as we know the only way for people to get a shot to play in competitive scene are through:
    1. Climb the MMR rank, to reach unbelieveable height then finally get scouted
    2. Having connection
    However, each of these 2 methods has a huge disadvvantages being: the first one, you need unbelieveable amount of time to invest into the game and competing with actual pros, and in my opinion this way is every individual oriented, because there is no way that people can climb the rank with not soloing every single game. The other method is having connection, this way main problem is simply what if you dont have one ? I know you need to search for the connection, but I just feel like this method have too many flaws.
    My question is, are these assumption of mine, do you think its correct ? If yes, can you tell me just based on both of your opinion and imagination what kind of method do you think will be better than these ?
    In my humble opinion, creating an environment for those that want to give a shot to became pro is the best one, its still so vague, but Im thinking about an academy, but it needs to be different from the usual ORG Academy, like I said its still so vague, so I dont have clear explanation. I would be really grateful if you can answer this question and even give me some advices, anyway good luck with Riyadh, will try and watch all the games.
