After all this time in the Mandalorian it is a legitimate treat to see him act where I can see his face again. He's great in that, obviously, given the constraints the armor places, but GOD he's such a good actor when he can use all his tools. With you on Ramsey too, she's been great.

That would put him at about 49/50 in this version of the story. But for the last several years, Tommy hasn't been living near as hard as Joel, so he looks maybe 10 years younger.

23:57 hogs would be one of the easiest animals to get. Pigs escape containment all the time and pretty much instantly revert back to being wild boars again. They're an invasive species in whatever environment they're let loose in because they can eat pretty much anything and reproduce very quickly. In an apocalypse, wild boars would take over and be a very common sight. You can hunt them all day, then capture some and start a pig farm. In fact, I'm surprised that wasn't one of the first things they did.
During that long discussion on what they thought the series would end like, I totally got into it and totally forgot there was another half an episode to watch 😂 Love the commentary! I don’t know if anyone has already pointed this out but Maria didn’t blow a dog whistle to save Joel and Ellie, she’d have no way of knowing Ellie had been bitten or was immune. The ringing noise you hear is Joel’s panic taking over, it’s like he can’t hear sound regularly, in his panic it’s all become muffled. My theory is that the dog doesn’t necessarily smell the infection but maybe reacts to aggression shown by the infected or like the twitching motions they make and since Ellie posed no threat and was very submissive, the dog didn’t attack.
Could also just be a bluff. Maria and Tommy talked about how they make a big show to scare off other people, like leaving the bodies by the river to scare the old people. Maybe they only PRETEND that the dog can sniff out infection to try and flush people who ARE infected out.

I did think the show was doing great but now I feel like the moments where there absolutely should of been action, they just don’t deliver on it. This episode felt too drama heavy with no room for excitement. They could of pulled off too and the scene would of felt just way more impactful too me if i felt that adrenaline rush go down hill. It just kinda felt like they didn’t have budget to do the specific scene i’m thinking of. They said they would keep the game stuff if it was worse or the same and this was disappointing that they thought that was better. Episode was pretty good except for that part. Raiders should of played a better role but it is what it is.

I did think the show was doing great but now I feel like the moments where there absolutely should of been action, they just don’t deliver on it. This episode felt too drama heavy with no room for excitement. They could of pulled off too and the scene would of felt just way more impactful too me if i felt that adrenaline rush go down hill. It just kinda felt like they didn’t have budget to do the specific scene i’m thinking of. They said they would keep the game stuff if it was worse or the same and this was disappointing that they thought that was better. Episode was pretty good except for that part. Raiders should of played a better role but it is what it is.
Yeah I wonder where the budget went. Isn't it $10 per episode? Or did episode 5 account for half the budget of the entire season? Lol

I thought you guys have great format because you guys care to pause it and even rewind it but too much discussion and prediction over scene a scene that's gonna be show in few seconds. Also hate the lower right guy calling ellie a mental and immature because of her pun book as well as his cynosure-ish attitude keeps predicting stuffs over upcoming scene, he doesn't know how to properly consume and indulge an entertainment... just watch the show man
This show is straight-up dull on the second watch.
It’s just empty landscapes and endless walking… talking.. still no sign of infected or clickers. Joel and Ellie are supposed to bond through all this danger and survival? Based on the new trailer for season 2 I can see that one won't live up to the second game either.
Honestly, skip this series and go for the game. Ellie’s way more likeable there too.
