No worries, in California it is required to have a fish descending device when fishing in the ocean. You can buy one or make one, I turned my fish grip pliers into a descending device. Hers how it works, fish grip pliers are like vice grip pliers, they stay closed so to open them you need to pull apart the handles. One handle I attach a 16oz weight and the opposite handle I attach my fishing line so once you pull up on the fishing line the fish grip pliers open allowing the fish to swim away once its safely descended back down 100' or more. I will try to remember and explain in next video. 😎

Almost forgot, when you catch a fish that is 100' or more, while you are reeling them up they get the bends just like us. At depth, the gasses in the swim bladder are at equal pressure. When the fish is reeled up to the surface, the gasses expand and can cause the eyes to become bulged, cloudy or crystallized and the stomach to protrude out of the mouth. So you need to descend them back down to the depth you caught them because they cant swim back down, otherwise they float and become bird food. Hope this helps 🤓

I get the bladder thing. We sometimes have that happen here with pan fish from 30 - 40 feet of water.....difference is we bring em home for dinner.
