    Great recipe Sam! Rather chilly day in Chicago today, so a perfect soup day. I couldn’t find shiitake’s so I used portobellos. Awesome soup for a cleanse.

    bok choy should have gone in long before the mushrooms. you broke them all up and they were overcooked. having said that, i appreciate your channel!

    I made this, but in a Dutch oven. So frickin' good! The sesame chili oil is the key! Thanks, Sam! It's there a Louis t-shirt. I'm thinking Louis saying, "Don't eat the same shit." Might be traumatic for the children seeing Louis cuss though.

    Would it taste good if i added pulled chicken? Or used beef stock and added shaved steak with it? im gonna try it this way 1st though. looks awesome.

    Sam....your dad got his rice bowl in Chinatown. There's bowls, plates, cups, and t-pots in that pattern. You can get different colours. The little bowls are great for leftovers....or pudding.

    I love Sam's recipes but it gives me some anxiety when he doesn't have ingredients or tools set out and ready. In this case the bowl. But it is real life real time cooking.
    Heavy stacked ceramic/glass bowls and dishes in a very high cabinet- ugh they would never get used and very dangerous to try and get them down with out breaking them or hurting yourself. I do love the pantry wall with the sliding doors. The doors double for a message board for notes/recipes.... wonderful idea.

    did the mushrooms, broth, celery and two eggs dropped in . did not add any of the other because i have not been adding salt to my food for 2 years now and my taste buds are now really favor honest to me

    Why throw out the stems of Shiitake mushrooms? They are part of the same fungus. Cut them very thin and throw in the pot.

      only way to prewash is to cut the end then separate each piece! I didn't finish watching his show.
