I was pointed here by the RUclips algorithm because I look at quite a few Mexican street food videos. As soon as I looked at your California Burrito video I was hooked. Tatertots, who'dof thunk? I said to myself this guy needs a restaurant and finally after a few 'episodes' we see you do own a taco shop! The food has to be amazing. For what it's worth I like the straight up you, food and that top quality outdoor grill minus the commentary from anyone else. Keep up the great video work, total fan here.

A few months ago, I flew to San Diego from Seattle for a old school BMX event. (Bicycle Motocross). I picked up my rental car and headed straight to the taco stand. Not Not Tacos. Sadly they were not open at 9:30 in the morning. 😄 I wandered around town for a while until it was time for lunch. I asked the dude behind the counter to sell me their top 3 tacos. Don’t even remember what they were other than absolutely delicious. As I waited for my tacos, Sam showed up. He looked busy but still took a moment to allow me to say hey, and tell him how much I enjoy the videos and his cookbook “recipes with intentional leftovers”. Keep up the entertaining videos guys.
My dad used to cook us tacos very similar to these ones. Now that i watched this i'm heading to the kitchen to prepare a couple for dinner. Glad you are feeling better Sam!
I totally followed through with the fish tacos! I added avacodo and some homemade shrimp sauce w cayenne. Needless to say it was awesome! Thanks again for being a cross country friend!

I loved my EVO when I lived in San Fran. Sold it when I moved a few years back. I used to make a chipotle spiced polenta on it. The large surface made it easy but you couldn't walk away from it to drink Mexican beer otherwise you would burn it. I love your videos !
This is exactly the recipe I was looking for Sam. My husband and I were down on the waterfront about 10 years ago and I had something very similar at a restaurant by the Omni- not sure if either the restaurant or hotel is still there. Regardless, it was a light and tasty fish taco (dare I say a San Diego Fish Taco because I haven't been able to find a duplicate since then. Thanks so much. Oh, and I enjoy it when the camera-guy (your son) provides commentary..
I was in San Diego for 5 days over Memorial Day weekend for a convention. We were staying by Seaport Village and we walked down for fish tacos probably four or five times. Phenomenal.
