Personally, I like the way he moves when he's singing.. you can tell how totally immersed he is into the beat while performing I am SO here for it

I think vocal coaches teach you that so the singing becomes easier. Though, most singers don't do it alot when they're live.

This is definitely a Danger Mouse inspired technique. Check out Broken Bells if you enjoy that style. Two of my favorite groups.
Totally different sound but they do a similar thing, but modest mouse has a bunch of tracks that are almost like multiple different songs in one package. It's that level of artistry and whatnot that I'm, personally, attracted to

god, asa's voice is so unique, and it's really true. not a lot of editing to his voice at all. it sounds exactly the same as in the recordings. he even makes the echo noises himself. damn, i love them so much.
WDYM? He's not singing the studio version. He's singing the high parts an octave lower and it sounds "bad for me". I hope he doesn't do this usually with live performances, otherwise what's the point of faking with studio plugins?

He is super perfectionist, I loved it.
When i first heaed this band and song i thought...."this is one of those special groups that's never gonna really be appreciated". I'm nit sure if i was wrong but i really like their style and musical talent, which is so..so..lacking these days. As an old fart, I'm happy to see unique groups with their own style and sound making their way.

Really innovative band.
I miss the acoustic guitar part here. Don't think I ever loved the same notes played repetatively as on an original, anywhere. But the whole song is just gorgeous and mesmerizing. Still an awesome performance here and love his voice. They all nailed it. What an underrated song and band.
