On my return from my day trip in Madrid I decides to fly with Iberia. As Business Class was just 40€ over the Economy Class fare, why not?
I was caught completely off guard with the spectacular catering on such a short flight.

Yet again great video. 40 euros for upgrade is fantastic considering its a full upgrade. Favourite line @… if I don’t eat, I don’t have a video !” Very commendable ! In the past I travelled Euro business on British Airways on a few occasions and got upgraded several times on Air France. I don’t recall the food being as good as video ….. I recall same food as Economy but in round bowls, not square !
I was surprised it was a full upgrade and not just the seat!
And yes, the food at the airlines you mentioned on flights under 2 hours are not this enhanced at all like Iberia’s..

I love the engine roar of the A320-200 at take-off. That feeling of... "ok this is it, vacation here I come!"
You must have not flown very far on vacation😛.
But you’re 100% right. To me hearing the A320 take off feels like vacation too, as I would fly a lot on Iberia as a kid in the 90’s to go on holidays from The Netherlands to Barcelona. I was allowed to choose between KLM’s B737-300 and B737-400’s or Iberia’s A320’s and the choice was easy, as the A320 was then new!
@@TheLayoverAviation Well, before the Boeing 737 Max 8 and the fiasco behind it, in Canada the a320-200 was used frequently to fly places like California, Florida, Mexico, Caribbean. For us it’s considered a far away vacation 🙂
no that ding dong is Iberia thing🥰🤣🤣 no other Airline i ever heard that but that makes them special🤣
I’ve heard it at some other airlines but the aircraft came from Iberia 😆

0:49 that’s why you pay extra for European business class though. It’s not just the seat, it’s the other added benefits and helps you get status and the dedicated service is usually impeccable, well on BA at least .
You’re right. But then again, for the same price on other continents you do get a different seat.
I don’t know why we Europeans settled for so little and just take it.. Sad it became a habit to have this kind of business class. But like you said, good perks!

Landing with autopilot on is also known as CAT III ILS which is landing in zero visibility conditions. Most major airports in the world have runways that are suitable for such landings and pilots are trained specifically for handling such situations. Great video once again and thanks for all the info. Grat informative video. Amanda and I are flying Iberia Express to TFN next month. We choose business because i am 6ft 6 and need a minimum of 30 in of pitch due to my long legs. I hope Iberia Express business is as good as Mainline.
Minimum of 30 in?! Poor man, you need more then that! I think that the emergency exit would do a better job for you, more then Business.
I think the product on Express is basically the same, have not tried it yet..

nice, but my experience with Iberia BC is not good; used to fly a lot from Ams towards Havana via Madrid in BC and found the crew very arrogant and 'lazy', even if I do speak Spanish too. Have better experiences with Air Europa, Condor, Air France in -in the past- of course Martinair!

Busqué el registro del avión y no ha volado para Iberia. Fue Lan Chile que lo instaló😖

Hi again! Great video as always!! I have a little question. Next Week I’ll be flying long haul with Singapore Airlines and since it will be my first long-haul since the pandemic started I’d like to buy some chocolates for the crew to share my happiness with them, in your experience do SQ crews accepts those kind of gifts?
On my last flight with SQ, as it was early morning, I brought croissants and danishes from a local bakery. They loved it. Bringing something is something I do since young. It makes it easier to shoot a video as you kind of broke the ice with the crew. From becoming a seat number you actually become a person to them, I guess.
I’m sure they’ll accept and love it!

I don’t think they do do any longer..
Few airlines continue to offer this option..

Im fairly certain Aer Lingus use that Ding Dong aswell but it is also possible Aer Lingus just play half of it
Hey Daniel, I know some of Iberia’s ex A320’s left for Aer Lingus, so that might also explain it..!
@@TheLayoverAviation Fair point, theyve had a fair bit of fleet swapping. I cant recall when the dong dong occurs (if even) but its very very familiar. One of those details you dont think about or question normally you know
Turkish Airlines' short haul seat and catering are much more better
I already mentioned that all the seats are not good in Europe.
And I actually found this catering much better then Turkish Airlines short haul, I always get served the same there (mezze appetizer, kofte main course or that pasta in tomato sauce) and it’s not as elaborated..
But yes, seat wise Turkish is good. Don’t really count them as they don’t really fly much intra Europe
