Christmas was the one time you knew you were gonna get a new video game maybe a new console. These kids nowadays have no idea what it was like, you’d get console and that would be it for years maybe, a video game on a birthday maybe but otherwise you rented games if they were available for a weekend maybe and until the late 90s with no memory cards or save slots usually…man I still remember getting Pokémon and a gameboy color in 98, everyone I knew that Christmas break got it. Still the best game phenomenon that only lasted a bit before the mania died down, I know the franchise is now the best selling if any medium but nothing beat that first year it came out as a 8 year old kid.

As I have been saying to family, friends and even some strangers for almost 20 years: The 1990s was arguably as close to a "high age" aka "golden age" as humanity ever got, especially for entertainment, collecitbles and more t. I also sometimes extend that halcyonic era , from the mid 1980s through the mid 2000s. That "generation of time", that solid 20 years was so great. No time period is without its issues of course, but as I said, narrowing it down to the 90s, that was as close to the greatest era we have seen in human history. ANd we can literally look back on many ages of the world, so...:P Happy "holy" days. Blessed to have grown up in the 1990s.

Why do some stores and few people have to decorate for Christmas in November? Why do we hear a few Christmas songs in stores when it's November? It's like people are so excited for Christmas to come they can't wait till December so they start in November, "let's kind of celebrate Thanksgiving but mainly Christmas."

The camcorder and camera used by your dad on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning the big ones you had to use on your shoulder! the dinners at your aunts and uncles bringing gifts to share with your cousins as your ran wild at there house and had to sit at the kids table for a Christmas meal while all the adults were dressed up nice and eating Christmas ham how cold it was and how tired you were! After! I remember going to the movie store and renting all of the classics actually being able to physically rent out the vhs tapes! I grew up poor but never realized it and man when I saw those gifts under the tree i felt rich! Of The stocking that hung that was there my whole life still have it! Same stocking filled with the best chocolates and extra candy canes that you didn’t put on the tree! My family ran a tree business so i remember going over picking out the tree from the lot each year getting that good ole family discount he would let me pick whatever tree I wanted! my uncles then wrap it in the net and tie it to my dads car roof! Then of course going inside the office where my aunts were making beautiful real handmade decorative wreaths and got some hot coco that would always burn my mouth! It smelled so so good the fresh smell of the Christmas trees coming from straight from Canada the streets having Christmas lights all down the road and my dad bringing me to all the rich houses that had lights outside… it was so beautiful with all the snow in that big ole car… everybody you passed by at the grocery stores, or gas stations said merry Christmas it was just such a laid back time it wasn’t stressful it wasn’t boring it was special! Growing up in Vermont dad taking me out and building me a huge snowman! I had my snow suit which was hot pink green with silver reflections! Big gloves and boots, we would go sledding always with the other kids I remember getting my first sled it was hot pink! We would sled upDown the big hill over and over until we were so tired. Also in our neighborhood, this was really fun and super cool Every winter down the road next to my house was a circle style road and had all the other houses around it in the middle was this perfectly round large patch of grass that dipped down! Pretty deep It was a perfect circles/oval, it was pretty big my dad and my childhood best friends dad would shovel the area out which took a few days! They created these large snow walls! All around that were over 6 feet tall! With an entry way built out of snow! They would then lay down massive tarps, then stick multiple hoses into the area filling it up with the water and letting it freeze over! They would smooth out the area creating a full on ice skating rink for all of us kids! And parents to use! It was so cool so fun! One
of my favorite memories as a little girl that skating rink!I remember the houses would have the same decorations in my neighborhood, but I was always excited. I remember the big plastic Santa on the roof with the little sleigh and the little deer…. Looked like he was waving! All the big colored lights, framing, peoples houses!
The smell of the tree is something special and growing up having a radio station that played only Christmas music all the way until new year! Making snow angels, going to see my grandma and grandpa in Canada getting the magazine to circle the gifts we wanted! Everybody speaking French is kids playing hide and seek just so family oriented… which I miss, we owned a sugar house and man it was nice the fresh Canadian maple syrup Poured over the fresh snow turning it into hard maple candy that you would take a fork and spin it around and eat it was so good fresh donuts and hot coco or tea, the mall being so beautiful with all its lights I remember jc penny’s sears KB toys! Hell this is all in the 90s I had a wonderful childhood and I miss it, I think us 90s kids had it the best during that time, there wasn’t phones for distractions heck we didnt get a computer until 2003/2004 ! I miss those times and it feels like a whole life time ago. I remember as I was growing up getting older those commercials that Christmas station I would still always enjoy that time of year so much of course it changed family split and times were different especially after 911 then the crash of 2008 it’s wild to think we are headed into 2025.. I remember New Year's Eve. I would always get to stay up and watch the ball drop… i remember the fear of nye 1999 going into 2000 and how everyone thought the world would end! i was scared lol. nothing will ever come close to those memories. of the 90s and as a little girl and the excitement..

Of course a video of the 90s where you will see The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers somewhere in it. Just watch 95 Halloween Film to see a Power Ranger toy in it. Wow I remember it like yesterday, The TV guides and the sears books.. circling all the video games and toys. Coca Cola taste super amazing especially sprite. Every area in my city, houses street lights, restaurants decorated. I feel so bad for the newer generations, they will never ever experience any of the holidays the way we Millennials experienced. Going to the mall and just seeing all the decorations as seen in the video, and that long line to see Santa Clause. Man the 90s was magical.
