I use phone as key every day and have had no issues with it not working in the first two weeks--it has been flawless. By the way, if you leave the activity key in the car by mistake and lock the car it is automatically disabled until you re-enter the car using phone as key or the main electronic key. I just leave my spare physical key blank in my wallet just in case I need emergency access, but that blank will not start the car and if you enter with the physical key blank, the activity key left inside also WILL NOT start the car for security reasons.

Hi, Not sure if you mentioned it. Does the app need to be open in the background on iOS in order to use the digital key?

Connection worked, but whats the benefit exactly? You need to carry the real key to drive anyway?

Do you have multiple phones functioning as keys? Our sales guy told us that currently only one phone can be used as a key so I have been reluctant to try setting it up on both my partner's and my own phone.

My dad and I had our phones connected and we didn’t have any issues at first. However after 2 weeks my dad’s phone stopped working reliably. My phone still works fine and it’s been a month and a half.
I think you will be fine setting up 2 phones if you have a different profile for each person. If you’re worried you can always carry around the activity key wrapped in aluminum foil till you trust phone as a key.

But our salesman said don’t do this. Always carry your key. App is still in Beta. Maybe in June you can use it. He had clients that got locked out.

Yea it's smart to carry your key around in foil.
