That was actually weirdly faithful. Even the shore at the end, after the Borealis crashes into the BEEG ORB, is directly from the HL2:EP3 script.

It feels like the creator of this mod completely misunderstood the actual idea behind the beta minimalist mod. None of the humour seems like it's actually intentional, it all reeks of the typical unintentionally funny stuff from other bad mods

I would agree, but unfortunately this mod is terribly lacking in Ratatouille music.
this felt less like a mod made in the same vain as the minimalist mods, and more like someone used that as an excuse for why their mod was so lame lol. there's none of the silliness or humor. it's just a really poor mod

I love how it’s the _Polar_-class _Hyperborea_ from the beta rather than the retail _Healy_ from retail.
This mod could really benefit from HL2's beta minimalist's inclusion of godawful voice acting and gunplay that makes no sense. In other words, I would make this better and less bad.

No what Laidlaw forgot for Epistle 3 was that they never explained how she got the magic portal code that solved the invasion in like a day.
The first map of this mod also was in Gordon Freakman.
