Thanks so much for sharing the tip on travel speeds to hit the 3 bridges on the hour and half hour between Coinjock and Norfolk. Wow, no kidding change of scenery. Travel safe and again much appreciated you are taking all of us along for the ride.
You should have told Mr No Legs in Coinjock that he would make a nice belt if he hangs around too long! Really liked how you timed the bridges even with the non-moving sail boat, barges and other cruisers . Never been through a lock so that was special for me.
Welcome to Hampton Roads, my "home water". We keep a 24' WAC in dry storage around the corner from Tidewater Yacht in Little Creek, VA. Not to put too fine of a point on it, but the Tidewater marina is located in the friendly city of Portsmouth, VA. As you mentioned, Norfolk is right across the Elizabeth River. Hope you found an ICW Mile 0 shirt or hat at the Tidewater ships store. You are wise to wait for a weather window before heading out of Hampton Roads into the Bay. That big water can be very rough--not that Andromeda couldn't handle it, but is isn't much fun for most skippers. Safe travels and watching for the next post!
“Gee, Toto - I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore!” 😂 Definitely a major change in scenery (and traffic). That snake footage was only about 5 seconds of a 30 minute video…but I can’t stop seeing it. NOT a fan of snakes on docks. Or much of anywhere else, for that matter. Ick!
Welcome to Hampton Roads, one of the greatest boating and golfing locations in the United States! It is even more special if you are retired and don't have to compete with the rest of the working world on the weekends! In my younger, single Navy days there in Norfolk, I only managed a little boating and fishing out of Portsmouth into the James River. But, the golf courses were great and plentiful - that's if I could tear myself and girlfriend away from the beaches. Winter wasn't too bad there. However, with a ride like Andromeda, one could always head south in the fall to enjoy a Florida winter. Just a friendly note from a current Higgins Lake resident who's been all over the country having fun when I wasn't working or deployed with Uncle Sam's Canoe Club. I hope you are enjoying your Great Loop adventure as much as I'm enjoying following you two!
Such beautiful waterways you guys have, a boating paradise....and what an adventure in reasonably safety for retirement with endless addresses to call home. Another enjoyable video, thank you. Thank God there are nice, down to earth people like you to take us along. ✨️✨️🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻💙🦘🦘🦘✨️✨️
That snake would have shaken me....winter is coming fast, will you stop your journey before winter? Going home is always harder. Al my best to all three of you.

Could you guys consider doing a video on the cleaning products you use for your boat and what’s your scheduling in cleaning.
Busy day but you handled like pros! Welcome to Norfolk!

Did you consider going through the great dismal canal / swamp?
Adventure you say...those locks, barges and bridges sure did complicate this cruise. Boating isn't supposed to be that stressful!
Do you tip the dock hands?
