4:25 Actually reminds me of my school photo from 1990 where I was wearing coveralls and a yellow shirt.

I have a suspicion that Nabiki and Kasumi engineered that whole laundry mishap just for the purpose of dress up.

100%. It's not like Kasumi to get behind on laundry like that.

the think the intro scene is based on the ranma fighting game that got horrible basterized english release called Street Combat!

I get what you mean, it's a good episode and it's closer to the manga BUT I personally prefer how Ryoga is introduced in the 80's anime. His first appearance is greatly extended (very much to my liking), he has way more screentime and interacts more with other characters such as the village people he saved from the boar. We actually see him get lost and making his way to Furinkan high. The 80's anime takes its time and adds scenes that weren't in the manga, which I don't mind. They were actually endearing. We learn very early on that he is actually a giant (lovable, I might add!) dork and he comes off as rather aloof in the manga/remake.

That’s something I miss in this adaptation as well. The situation with Ryoga unwittingly wandering back to the same village in Shikoku, only to find the boar living peacefully with the people, who are actually pleased to see Ryoga again, and start trying to encourage him to just give up and stay with them. It may be considered filler, but it’s something I found completely hilarious. 🤣

@@0okamino Exactly!! I loved this scene, even if it was entirely filler! The 80's anime added so many great scenes and we as viewers get to spend so much more time with the characters. Especially with Ryoga I feel like these additional scenes did a lot for him, I for myself can certainly say I was immediately attached to him! Don't get me wrong, the remake is pretty good, but I personally prefer having a slower pacing. I'm fine with a faster pacing in the manga since it's a different medium.

Maybe they should consider re-releasing, remastering or remaking the video game?
