Is it possible to add 2fa app other than Google authenticator for Gmail login?

Thanks a lot! Do the local mail clients (Thunderbird) or the email apps (fairemail) continue to work? Rather not, right? Idea? Thank you in advance!
Hi Franz, good question! I've not tried it, but I think they should continue to work.
i used to just get the verification appear on my phone upon signing in and confirmed it was me, i just recently reset my password and now get a text everytime i sign in,is the other way no longer available or something?
