Thank you for all these videos on the Helix. There is so many different things that it can do it can get overwhelming at first.

Well technically you can’t change blocks to different delay or etc. But if you have enough DSP left depending on the complexity of your preset, set up two different delays or whatever in your patch and have the delay you want to use in snap shot 1 to turn off and change to the other delay in Snap shot 2. This works for the full fledged Helix especially if you use both paths but probably won’t with the Stomp as your only to what 8 blocks total.

Snapshots are golden, hehe. I use them in every preset I've made in the HX Stomp. Thanks for this helpful video, and can't wait to see more.

    Ha!
So glad I watch these even when I think I know the particular subject....did NOT know about the Alt and left to automatically add snapshot to a parameter.
    Excellent time saver! Cheers!

I hadn't used snap shots on my helix cause I like doing the pedal dance, but I wanted to start. Thanks for the missing link, right clicking the parameter to make it snap shot adjustable.

I use Snapshots on ever Preset I have. They can "remember" every setting that I spent time dialing in just right. No need to fiddle with knobs to recreate those perfect settings for future use.
Just yesterday, I dialed in the best tones I've ever gotten out of my HX Stomp. Somehow, it makes me play much better. All those settings are now saved, and I also backed up my Presets to my laptop, just to be extra sure.
What a fantastic feature. Thanks Line 6 and Jason for helping me get the most out of my gear! 😎

Pretty great primer on the uses of snapshots!
Quick question about the stumbling block you encountered: channel volume dropping between scenes/snapshots.
How do you make sense of the difference between drive and channel volume? Of course, tweaking settings and using your ears are key, but I’m wondering if you have a different way of thinking through the difference between drive and volume.
    Thanks, as always, Jason!

Is it me or the same functionality could be achieved without snapshots? One could manually assign the different parameter changes and values to a FS? The main caveat being that it would take 2 years to go effect by effect - parameter by parameter and assigning them lol I am just new to the Helix and I am just trying to figure out how it actually works. Thanks JS!

In HX Stomp it's harder to work with snapshots

Hello Jason. I have purchased your Helix patches. I must tell you they have a shrill sound in my Helix. What am I doing incorrectly with them? Global settings issue? I can’t figure out what is wrong. Please help! Thanks.

Can I ask what the rest of your setup is? What are you using to monitor your Helix? Also, do you happen to have your Global EQ engaged?

@@JasonSadites global eq is set exactly how you taught me in your videos. I am in the process of replacing my playback speakers. Appreciate your response. I am so frustrated with my Helix right now. It is more than likely user error. I view your videos and figure I understand it all and then…my sound sucks. I use a 1997 Tele Plus direct into the Helix. Also, have Altec headphones right now.

So how would snap shots work if I have a row of snapshots on the top and a row of presets on the bottom? Would I be able to have my original preset on the bottom and the snapshot on the top?

  • @nguquaxanguyen5224

can't this function be accomplished with presets as well as you can dial in the exact parameters you want?
