The Ancient Greeks didn't use "demon" in the same manner we do now; it would be "daemon", meaning "spirit" or "entity". I'm saying this, because our modern connotation attached to "demon" is negative and evil. This/these (daemon) would have probably just been a "spirit" with no evil or negative implications attached to it. Keep up your stuff!!

Ovid was said to have an axe to grind with authority and that he used his work to do so over and over again, so it can be hard to know when he’s retelling something he actually heard/read or when he’s creating a bit of fanfic to push one of his points home.

It would be interesting if you explored how Phobetor and Phantasos were quietly forgotten and Morpheus became the one remembered in pop culture as God of dreams and often mistaken as God of sleep. Even that fan art you chose in your thumbnail was tagged as "God of sleep." Sir William Ernest Reynolds-Stephens made a very nice depiction of Morpheus. An exploration of how Morpheus evolved into the folkloric Sandman and is often combined with him could have been good, like with Neil Gaiman's The Sandman and how in season 6 of Once Upon a Time Rumplestiltskin used the "Sands of Morpheus" making it clear that in their universe Morpheus is The Sandman, like in Neil Gaiman's version.

It would be interesting if you explored how Phobetor and Phantasos were quietly forgotten and Morpheus became the one remembered in pop culture as God of dreams and often mistaken as God of sleep. Even that fan art you chose in your thumbnail was tagged as "God of sleep." Sir William Ernest Reynolds-Stephens made a very nice depiction of Morpheus. An exploration of how Morpheus evolved into the folkloric Sandman and is often combined with him could have been good, like with Neil Gaiman's The Sandman and how in season 6 of Once Upon a Time Rumplestiltskin used the "Sands of Morpheus" making it clear that in their universe Morpheus is The Sandman, like in Neil Gaiman's version.
