Even if the KAAN fighter isn't "there" yet, it's a huge step forward for Türkiye and many other countries.
People often decontextualize these things. Like yeah. Of course it most likely isn't on a level of aircraft that had 70 years of evolution behind them and like 100x the budget. You always start somewhere, but the benefit of starting late is that you can learn on the mistakes that those before you, the pioneers, made and progress much faster to catch up.
First of all hello from Turkiye. Thanks for the short review. All parts except the engine and ejection seat are domestic production. The engines are taken from the F16 and the ejection seat is also British production. The first prototype you watched is a 4plus generation aircraft. The Block10 version of the aircraft will be delivered to the Turkish air force in 2028. Turkish produced engines will be integrated into aircraft as of 2030 and will have vector thrusting feature. Turkiye produced a lot of parts in the F 35 program and produced its own F16s and Egyptian F16s. This is not our first jet plane. You can take a look at the Hurjet plane. Therefore, it is not a country that is inexperienced in the aviation industry.
I see a lot of comments saying it looks like the F22 or F35… 🤦 Even today almost all cars look the same because when you enter your design needs to fighter jet recipe function, and the result becomes this!

In KAAN, stabilizers controlled by AI.
They crap 💩 you but they don’t tell their crap
Watch the first flight of the F-22 and the first flight of Kaan, then see the difference
@@mustafaisik206The "early days of the program" was in reference to the YF-22 and technically not the same aircraft (you're right, the F-22 was in better shape). However, I will nitpick and point out that the KAAN is currently in a state that is not much different than the YF-22 (though the Turks may have been able to learn from the YF-22 and their software could be better off because of that mishap!).
The YF-22 mishap is recorded as a PIO, though the PIO was only possible due to how the FBW was written. In that case, the pitch inputs were rate limited and more than 180 degrees out of phase with the pilot input, along with the controls allowing for much greater deflection (based on the control state--there were 4, IIRC).
It's possible (though I am not a KAAN expert) that their software allows for both high rates and deflections while gear is down. I can't say whether that's good or bad, as there are arguments to be made for higher authority (something like AGCAS or a pilot mistake), and against--excess sensitivity when it shouldn't be needed (in theory).
Don’t be jealous mad , your laugh tell a lot ! Test plot already mentioned, stabs perfectly worked under software as its designed and planned through ! You said not look good , I believe it looks amazing war-able aggressive machine between f22 and f35 !

If the Turks built this plane in such a short time, we will see this plane as a 6th generation plane ten years later.
that's not how that works, putting something together by copying and borrowing isn't nearly the same as making something that can counter future threats and remain relevant for reasonable amount of time, and you have to make them in large enough numbers before they do become irrelevant, because the enemy will learn and counter
just look at russia and SU-57, all that engineering and manufacturing foundation, heaps of oil money and they made it so stealthy that nobody has seen one 2 years into a real war right across their border, and they can operate them from relative safety, yet - no show, and I think we all know the reason why they are using older gen planes and letting those get shot out of the sky
in essence - all this 5th and 6th gen fighter stuff has just been about money laundering all this time and "prestige", not actual combat usefulness
@@dsfs17987 If you equate 5Gen with stealth you could be right but I think the avionics are the key-feature there. Not so much for the F-22, more like the F-35 capabilities. Turkiye's objective is to make KAAN Entirely domestic except the Martin-Baker Proven Ejection seat. Therefore, almost every subsystem have to be proven out on seperate flights, Unlike the Korean KF21 in which Lockheed Marting has supplied the design and many critical flightt omponents are US made, Turkiye are making there own, From AVionics, Landing gear, Software, Armement and evantually the Engines. Many many flights will be required for the KAAN to verify the susbsystems in which the plane may not look completed...
ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 웃기네
I am Turkish, my opinion is this plane will not be a match to F22, but the important thing is we are trying and the most important is we have the engineers and the resources to catch up with the aviation raise that we started late. As long as our horrible politicians do not sell our country .
If there were no Turks, there would be no history. Turks have an ancient civilisation and wherever you turn your head and wherever you want to see, you will definitely encounter something belonging to the Turks. Turks dominated the world for 1000 years from Seljuks to Ottomans. I think your small country Turkey at the beginning of the video is related to how little you know the Turks and Turkey. You looked really ignorant and funny with your sarcastic smiles on this subject :) Turkey is bigger than you think.
aynen
Did you watch the first flight of F22? You are funny.
@@CWLemoine so, what's ur progress
"I'm not kidding.. it's in NATOPs!"
Going to start using this everyday
add it to "where is NATOPS? .. its in the thrash can sir.. Maverick put it there" and full combo
F22 initial takeoff rudder does the same. ONLY the Engine and Ejection seat are not Domestic.
If I'm characterized, you guys, as a Turkish character Gonky, can be Fatih Altaylı Wombat can be Can Ataklı but your C.W. Lemoine can be a more respectful positioned at least you are not trying to make a fun and underestimating the Turkish engineering, they knowing for the pioneers to many first achievements. They have wakeup now and we all know that they will make a difference. KAAN is the # 4th to be in the world after the U.S ,Russia and China but when they become fully operational and ready that day will be come #2 in the world after the U.S because Turkish technology will be in NATO standards and more advanced from the competition that means more power to the Türk's they will dominate the world markets all Muslim nations Central American countries Venezuela, El Salvador, Ecuador and many more including the MEXICO can be potentially customers so short saying Turkish economy will be the powered by the arms sales from now on get used to sharing the big cakes with the Türk's they will wipe out European shares because being a Muslim country gives them the upper hand and trust good luck to good looking KAAN.
nope. you are wrong.
Fatih Altaylı = For Sale Enemy of the State
There are some reports which mention posible collaboration with the Pakistanis. From what ive read, the Pakistanis have a decent military industrial complex, a formidable army and great relations with Turkiye. Thus, collaboration between the two allies doesn't seem farfetched.
We Turks had a lot of aviation experience before these we even selled Egypt F-16's built just in Turkey under Lockheed Martin contract in 1992.
I invite you gentlemen to watch the maiden flight of the f16, f22 and f35. Two of those planes didn't make it off the ground. Yes all those planes are or were the best in its class. US military equipment is the finest in the world but first flights are a path to the end product. Cheers!
Sarcasm motivates us, thank you
With respect to your country size comparision, please note Turkiye is the 2nd biggest military power in the NATO... Agreed intermediate in size, but still the strongest power in the region... TAI reported only borrowed systems currently are the engine systems. They did comment on the excess stabilizator movements after first flight, they said flight computer was searching the optimum AOA. Now that they have the first flight data, we'll likely see improvement with subsequent flights after calibration. Something else to note, aircraft took off without afterburners. Kaan was chased with a two seater F16, shot movie/pictures as well as collected data. First delivery scheduled for 2028.
u c how proudly u speak about the viper. now pls. multiply times infinite. this is how proud türkiye is. and dont forget turks r not just türkiye. there is much more; azerbaijan, kazakhstan, kyrgyzstan, turkmenistan, uzbekistan, turkish cyprus, occuiped uyguiristan in china, belgorod Oblast, kabardino-balkaria, krasnodar krai, north ossetia-alania, rostov oblast, stavropol Krai in russia occupied south azerbaijan and many more. we speak about 500 milyon turks worldwide. we r so big u can not understand. thats why u get such a shit storm when u call T Ü R K I Y E small. forget borders between turkish staates.
We saw the first flights of the F16 and F22. With the F110 GE 129E engine, it lifts up to 21ton at its mercy. Not designed for 2x29,000lb Kaan is designed to fly with a 2x35,000lb engine. For your information
Definitely needs more control tuning, it's a normal step in development. Give them time they'll figure it out
Neden kiziyorsunuz ki adamlwri soyledigi buyun seyler normall.. sakin olun beyler
Very jealous guys! They said it flies with F 16 engines! What a idiotic idea!
Some information about the Turks. It is the Turks who invented the military formations such as corporal, captain, major (team, division, unit) that we use today, 2,600 years ago. Turks were also the first to domesticate horses and use them in war, and the first to use stirrups and mortars. The nation that China fears most in the world is the Turks. It would not be surprising if he broke new ground in the military sense.
I'm assuming Gonky and Wombat are in hiding by now...
Gülüşleriniz sizi ele veriyor beyler 😁KAAN hakkındaki bir sonraki inceleme videosundaki ruh halinizi şimdiden merak ediyorum😁
So how to pronounce „Türkiye“?
Bit tricky for English native speakers, since this letter “ü” is not available there, and I also don’t find an English word with a similar pronunciation.
Two examples trying to get closer.
Starting with bit too high pitch of intonation, English “pier” or “tier” might serve, or “They will get fierce if you still name them Turkey” (the latter too close to bird & `Thanksgiving´ meal and won’t be perceived as appreciation).
Or coming from lower pitch with “U” like in `united´ or `uniform´, that might also be OK (that’s how `Turkmenistan´ - another country in the vicinity of Türkiye - is pronounced in German language at least). This special character “ü” is often written as “ue”; pronouncing it like for e.g. “Huey” helicopter would fit for initial intonation only but you would have to ignore the ending coming along with the “y” or “ey” then.
Perhaps some native speakers also being fluent in English might comment & help with further, possibly better examples.

4:05 a cheeky small joke comparing a wanna-be 4-5th gen plane to a light combat trainer jet :) But actually, the same company already has a trainer jet (TAI Hürjet) that competes with the T-7 to replace T-45s in the US NAVY!
Get well soon guys😏✌️
Music at the start of video name ?? Anyone know about music name?
Until the KAAN project matures, I would like you to take a look at TURKEY's Unmanned Attack systems. For example, you can look at the ANKA-3, a stealth, tailless unmanned warplane project with high load carrying capacity, which contains weapon systems in the body, and the Heavy Class Unmanned Attack System Bayraktar AKINCI. .
Just talking. Keep watching, you will see
