Navy Fed = $25k on my first card with them!
American Express = They give 3x your limit CLI increases!
Why isn't discover up there Got a 20k plus limit
It is at 8:26
a question: does business credit cards count against you when it comes to the 5/24 rule?
It does not
Thank you
Capital one started off as a 1k limit. After a long credit history with them I got recently got approved for line increase of $100.
WOW $100!!! 😆😆😆
That's unfriendly 🤨
Yeah out of spite I give them no spend except bonus. They don’t deserve anymore/

I was just approved with them a couple of weeks ago for 5000 with a 710 fico. I'm still waiting on my card though, lost in the mail I guess..

I started with navy federal secured cards. Once I graduated the increase my credit limit to 2k, applied for the Amex card and got 6500 and then applied for the more rewards visa and got 15k with a 680 credit score and no collections
DO NOT play around with the spending power tool. That’s one way to get a financial review.
4:19 No, no, no, no! Do NOT do that a lot, Ask Sebby did that, too. Then AmEx had him do the dreaded financial paperwork for all his accounts! Note: if you don’t do the paperwork they close all your accounts!

Last December after gardening for 2yrs, I applied for my first Amex card BCE and straight up giving me $6000. Then got Chase Flex $4500. As you said Adam these companies pretty much give out good credit limits starting out.

And I have the Venture with $10,000 from them. But when I request limit they always decline -_-
seems they have hard coded in that platinum cards must have shit limits. is that what you had? They also are shit about allowing product changes. Try to offer people with platinum the quicksilver one which is 1.5x for $95 AF which sucks.
Capital One has the Platinum card reserved primarily credit building/rebuilding, hence they don't go crazy with the credit lines. However, they will offer you a better card like the Quicksilver as an addition but not raise the limit on the Platinum.

Capital One is notorious for bucketing. When I started rebuilding back in 2017, I got a QS1 and a Platinum I upgraded to a QS. The QS1 slowly increased for the first two years but now it's stuck. The QS I've only received two increases with that last one for a whopping $250.
Good call Adam, in my experience American Express has been more generous then Chase.
Chase started me with $1,500 and then after 2yrs they bumped it to $9,500

Just want to thank you for all the effort that you put into your content, it’s been a big help to me and many others! I’ve been anti credit cards until recently because of life changes and realized how much they can play an intricate part in saving you money with a better credit score. My experience with Apple was the same (5k starting) more than any other card I started with. About a 720 credit score all across. 65k a yr
Sebby did the same thing with the amex spending limits years ago. If (you) try the limits too many times, it will shut down and trigger a review. I was cringing as you were explaining it 😬
I am fearless! 😃
Chase has been stingy as hell to me, which is why I canceled my Freedom Unlimited. US Bank, on the other hand, has treated me very well. Amex too...
Freedom unlimited is literally the best card out there… even if you didn’t have a high limit you get the most perks and percentage back with no anual fee
Absolutely! Chase bank has been so cheap with me… I have been with them for 14 years started out $2000, the card has been upgraded through the years Chase Slate and Chase freedom unlimited. I have had two increases in all these years $300 many moons ago and $300 some years back. Last year I applied for the Chase freedom flex and they gave me $2800, I expected a higher limit since my credit score was in the high 790s and my other credit cards have higher credit lines. I have been banking with Chase Bank for at least 15 years! American Express has been a lot more generous with me. I don’t even want to use my Chase Bank card, I refuse to close it because it will affect my credit age.

I got my first chase card approval a couple weeks ago and I only have about a year of credit history but chase gave me a 3100 dollar credit limit for the Disney Visa rewards card which is higher than I expected. That savings account I have with chase I bet played a role in that. Can't wait to start using the card and building up those rewards
so month 9, score went up 120 points in 9 months. hopefully the last 100 to 800 will be just as fast?
Discover gave me an extra $1,000 when it unsecured #shrug
capital one is still new
fingerhut is meh
what should i get now?
700-800 jump ris going to take a lot longer than any othet. And what to get next depends on ur utility rate, Debt to Income ratio and account history.
First card with Navy Federal Credit Union: 20K cashRewards, 2 months in as a new member.
Avoid Capital one Their absolute crooks I pay my bill automatically every month on the 1st. Every month i get assessed a $29 late fee because Capital one holds the funds until after the due date then applies them so they can charge me a late fee
Might want to check your due date for the statement
My first Chase card was 4000, after a year they raised it to 11500. My second Chase card gave me 12000 to start with. Capone won't increase my 600 limit, and they are my oldest card
Chase I had $1000 limit for like 8 years then they increase to 3000 but no increase since and it's been at least 3 years. But yet got approved for sapphire at 7900.
Capital one always declined increases for me. In the beginning they were generous. But I have 3 now since they bought Walmart but no increases in years!
I just got my first chase card and they only gave me 2400. I was a bit disappointed, I knew it wouldn't be to high but was hoping at least between 3500 to 5000. But oh well hopefully at 6 months they will give me an automatic increase.
@@goddessjones6559 it it them over a year for mine
with capital one try to update income i know that was a requirement to get credit increase cuz when i got mine it told me to do it at least once a year and maybe product change and than request might work :)
I got my Discover it card 2 years ago. First CC and my income was on the lower end. Started at only $500 limit now I at $2000. I have to Request a credit increase and everytime i got approved. But it would never let me exceed $500 increments
Discover started me off with 5,000$ credit limit lol, I love it 😁
Had to click off as you soon as you said you got this info from RUclips comments
Your list is almost backwards based on my history.
Amex has been the most generous for me, while Bank of America has been the most stingy. Even though my accounts with Amex are newer than my accounts with Bank of America plus having a checking and savings account with them, they've yet to give me an automatic increase and only gave me half of the increase I requested the one time I have requested an increase lol.
Thanks for the video 🥰🥰👋🏼 I recently got Citi for $600 😃
That's so rude of them
@@MichelMawon4982 I understand their side. I don't have a long credit history...
Capital One is the worst credit card to have.
Nope, credit one is the worst

I love Capitol One, it was my starter now score is 795
Exactly! I just canceled with them yesterday.
Alrighty then. I'm a vet, so I had zero probs setting up an account with NFCU. I'll give it a few months and then apply for a CC and see what gives. Thanks!!
Put $50 in a certificate
How good is Police and fire unit credit cards?
X1 credit card - gave me $24,500 starting credit limit. It's now my highest limit card. They beat Navy Fed... although, I love Navy Fed. I have 2 Navy Fed cards... Flagship Rewards - $13,000...... and More Rewards - $15,000.
citi is my lowest credit line, all the others are 3-4x higher
Citi I have a 1800 double cash, 2700 simplicity after 3 years no increases and last year got approved for their American Airline card with a 5000 limit. But prior to the AA they declined increaes so go figure!
@@katrinastevenson352 I’ll do you one better. The first credit card I got was a co branded Sears/citi and the credit line for that is $1600 after almost 20 years
Can you please do an updated video on this same topic?? 🙏🏼
What is the ratio of total credit line based on annual income. Is it 10% of annual income 20%? What is the rule of thumb on this?
- thats a good question, for personal cards I usually get between 7% - 13%, so 10% is probably a good average.
Thank you. Amazingly great. Love it.
These spending limits can be traps. A way for card companies to keep you their customer for a long time
I don't see the trap... A $25k limit with no AF.
@@sebastianmizzell7541 most ppl think that if you can pay off your monthly debt, a credit card can be worth it based on the rewards.
Say you spend 2k, that’s only 20-30 dollars back.
Because on average you only get about 2-3 percent back.
But, what if you budgeted? Maybe you can cut your spending by 10 percent, maybe more?
Same with flight points. It’s about 2-3 cents per point.
What if you independently saved by cutting spending?
Generally, high credit card limits are good on business accounts. But residential cards?
I get it, if they are really low, but stop maximizing your them as a way to see how far you can go.
@IPFreeley respectfully, your looking at it all wrong. If your using your credit cards to pay for things you can't afford to pay for every month, you could find yourself in debt and you are trapped!! If you use your cards to pay for every day purchases, within your budget, that you would be using your debit card or cash to pay for anyway, and then you pay your balance off at the end of every month, you get the benefits of the rewards, however small you feel like they are. You may be able to buy dinner with them or shave $200 off of a flight and that is nice at times. For me, I want the high credit limit in case I do have an emergency and need the funds right now. Things like that do happen in life. You could have a family member die without life insurance and the funeral home wants the money RIGHT NOW to bury them. They have their hand out for your credit card or theres no funeral or burial (been there) But it doesn't mean I need to run up debt I can't pay off every month and pay a ton of interest. I don't do that and most people who have good credit dont do that either. I understand if you have an emergency, you can get caught in a trap, but that's what credit cards are for. If that happens, you could use your good credit score from responsibly using and paying your credit cards monthly to get a low interest loan to pay it off. If you have no mortgage or other loans and you have a car you just paid off, you need credit cards to keep your credit score up, because the ONE thing you don't want to happen, is to find yourself with no revolving credit at all. Then you end up without a FICO score for all 3 credit bureaus and that's a bad place to be (Been there too) The days of paying for everything in cash like our parents and grandparents did are gone. We all need credit in today's world. Its all about discipline and using them responsibly.
