I used to live in the US. Never heard of Big Red either!
In my city we say Pop for soft drinks.
"Nasty" is exactly right for Mountain Dew. And no I've never heard of, or seen "Big Red" either, until right now. Never seen "Warhead" either. Or "Calamity", never seen that either.

I don't drink sodas, haven't for 30 years, nor carbonated water. Rarely Champagne, in principle the only carbonated drinks I consume is beer, and for the US that would be craft beer, not Budlight or any other garbage
I was hoping for a comparison between US coca cola and European coke.. we do not allow that nasy corn-syrup here in EU.

Why? Tomato juice(in general, cant say nothing about certain brand) is great(if it salty)! Not for cool of, but i like drink it with some meals.

UK soft drinks are just depressing now thanks to the sugar tax. Nothing tastes nice anymore, the only 'full sugar' drink you can still get is coke original, which was already my least favourite sugary drink cos it has zero flavour and too many calories.
When I was a school kid, drinks back then were just straight up concentrated syrup in a bottle / can / carton.
Who wants to drink just sugar? And pay all that money to the dentist
My baby boomer parents drink Clamato juice but only to make Bloody Marys, which to be honest just sounds even more disgusting.
