      True but it seems so tiring, being able to do that though every play and people say he shouldn't have been DPOY? Foh, its not all about steals and blocks to me. He's hard to get by, he shut down Lebron in the finals! He deserves it, Spurs will be back and better this coming season. Aldridge will be a great compliment to Timmy.

      +P2P 6God His defense is extremely tiring. Most players would only be able to do it for maybe a quarter and then be completely out of stamina

    • @EvinGualberto
      @EvinGualberto  9 лет назад +1

      Darius Woodfolk I don't think I'd do a Chris Paul one because that'd just take FOREVER (I know because I tried, it's just A LOT) but I already have Steph, Bron & even Kyrie sort of started/sorted, so you'll see one of those 3 real soon, with the rest to follow

    • @estebanmireles4983
      @estebanmireles4983 9 лет назад

      In your opinion who is better from kawhi, butler and Paul George defensively

    • @EvinGualberto
      @EvinGualberto  9 лет назад +1

      Esteban Mireles I would say those three are the top wing defenders but that Kawhi edges those two (but not by a lot). If we're looking at one guy who all three have had to defend for multiple games in succession (for instance, in a playoff series), LeBron faced them all in 2013. PG & Butler did great on the perimeter but got bullied (relatively speaking) in the post.

    • @estebanmireles4983
      @estebanmireles4983 9 лет назад +1

      Evin Gualberto true I agree because kawhi Leonard did a excellent job on lebron in the 2014 finals and earned a finals mvp

    Defense is so damn underrated in basketball. It's HALF OF THE GAME. Whenever you discuss who's the best in ball or something all people talk about are handles, dunks, jumpshot, etc etc. I find it so annoying when people don't even mention it when talking about basketball.

    • @doyouwannarideordie6764

    • @REDRAGON12345
      @REDRAGON12345 8 лет назад +1

      Negative, not only is Ron Artest taller, he is also stronger and weighs more. The only advantage Kawhi has is longer arms and bigger hands, which is helpful, but Artest in his prime was better

    • @gabriel.hongkong
      @gabriel.hongkong 8 лет назад +18

      +REDRAGON12345 Artest had a very short prime. The one year when I think he was truly the best perimeter defender ever was when he beat Ben Wallace for defensive player of the year. Overall I still choose Kawhi over Artest, I mean world peace

      Yeah, there's rarely much you can do to defend after a steal from the top of the key. Nobody's back except for a guy who still needs to turn around just to try and run with the pick pocket.

    Reminds me so much of Jordan on the defensive end, he's honestly a combination of Pippen and Jordan on defense. The way he stays in front of his opponents and blocks shots is reminiscent of Jordan, and the way he uses his wingspan to pick his opponents pocket is reminiscent of Pippen. My favourite player in the league.

    Amazing! Thank you for this! Truly does remind me of the Bulls Scottie pippen! You forgot arguably his greatest defensive move, the series saving block/strip while going vertical using his right hand on a Russell Westbrook in the dying moments of Game 6 NBA WCF 2014.

      xotillioverdose I didn't actually. The description reads that these are all regular season defensive plays, so when I finish the Kawhi playoff defense video, you'll most definitely see that one there. It's a can't miss play.

    He's probably the best perimeter defenders of all time. With hand-checking not allowed and 3-point shots so wildly used to spread floor in today's game, no one can lock down their matchup like Kawhi. Scottie was great, but he played in an era where you can be extra physical to the perimeter players. Today's game, not so much. The so called "soft" nba today favors floor spacing and offense, but it shows just how great Kawhi's defense is.

    Leonard defense seems to reflect on how quiet he is, he never let's anybody break his concentration. when you have focus like he does the games slow down mentally. sorta like the matrix, which makes it easy to lock down passing lanes and strip the ball of the bounce. he's already lengthy which is a plus

  • @dorsal-qb5fr

    What a terror to any offense! Kawhi is like three extra people out there. There's enough pressure on you if Kahwi is guarding you, but his help defense is incredible when you don't even see him coming... on the perimeter, around the basket - everyone from the point guard to the center have to look out for him.

Kawhi offensively has become a serious threat mid range even while being guarded this man doesn't hesitate on the 3 anymore. I can't wait to see the combination of a Tony Parker, Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge. @EvinGualberto  9 лет назад +23

      ***** I totally feel you. I had Draymond as my DPOY too, but that doesn't mean Kawhi is less deserving. The fact that Draymond got more 1st places votes is pretty telling. I think that 42 people leaving Dray off their defensive ballots entirely is also incredibly telling. The people in the know knew to vote him DPOY, the people who aren't in the know, didn't vote for him at all. For the record, Kawhi was left off of 26 ballots entirely also. I think if there were people that left both of these guys off their lists, they should have their votes rescinded and their ballots taken away.

    Im here even as a Rockets fan because even though i hate the Spurs, i respect their franchises success and personally i hate that Kawhi is the first Spurs player i genuinely like. Glad to see him putting great defense on the map.

    To me, he's the most feared perimeter defender since Scottie Pippen. The way he manages to strip the ball, play the passing lanes, block shots and beat the offensive player to the spot is very similar to Pippen.

    Easily one of the most fun players to watch, seeing how he strips some of the best ball handlers in the league making it look easy

    Pick CP3 AND Curry, can switch from a 2 to a 4 without a blink, steals anything anywhere, and defends the rim.....PHENOM.

    That steal on CP3 when the Clippers are down 3 hurt me so much. I mean usually when Cp is isolated on anyone you would take that but Kawhi just ate him up on that possession.

    Question: at 1:10 after Kawhi dived on the floor to get the ball couldn't James have dived instead of bending down and running to get the ball and a teammate could have come and helped him because I know running while bending over is just slower than normal running (just a question not hating)
