  • ✋Hello! Today we will visit the famous temple in Thailand, commonly known as the Temple of Dawn. It is one of Thailand's most impressive and recognizable landmarks, contrasting with the modern urban landscape surrounding it.
Wat Arun (officially called Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan) is a historic Buddhist temple located on the western bank of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. In 1768, King Taksin, after leaving Ayutthaya occupied by the Burmese army, arrived at this place at dawn. It is said that it was a sign for him that the new capital of Siam should be located in this place. At that time there was a small local temple there, which he later ordered renovated and renamed it Wat Chaeng, the Temple of Dawn. The current name Wat Arun comes from the Hindu god Aruna, often personified as the radiance of the rising sun. The structure differs from other Thai temples with the characteristic pagoda called "Prang", in the Khmer style that was added in the 19th century. There are various theories about the height of the pagoda between 66 meters and 86 meters. The decorations were made of glazed porcelain, which was a common decoration in temples at the time when Chinese ships calling at Bangkok used this material as ballast.
May happiness be with this place.
