The "German dance pop" is called "Schlager" in Germany. A very unique, kitschy thing from Germany.
Also (at least on average), if you listen to that genre of music, you're either above 40 or drunk.

6 string, 99% Metalcore.
7 string, either Tech Metalcore (like Polaris) or Deathcore.
8 string, 100% Deathcore.
It's quite a fun habit I have. Trying to learn more about drums, but that's a whole different thing, so I just look for the brands there, like Meinl, which has the most distinct logo.

The ESC has nothing to do with Schlager, maybe once in the 70' years of the last century.

I'd also like to point out that schlager isn't actually restricted to Germany, as it has been performed countless times over the years by various acts from different nations. Schlager is a staple of ESC.

Electric call boy straight trolled people yet again. I heard the song the night before the video was released and I read the lyrics and was wondering if it was about zombies and after the video I wasn't disappointed.
So a lot of people are actually thinking this song was done entirely as a middle finger to Eurovision, as they were disqualified earlier this year because their music was not “radio oriented” or “family friendly.” This is their take on a whole “oh look! We can do Schlager :D It’s totally a normal song. Absolutely! Also, fuck you, here’s zombies eating us alive, literally.” EC literally out here not giving a single FUCK about how they’re perceived, I love it. I’m honestly wondering how this song is gonna be in concert, as the group is now going to be doing BIG concert locations in 2023, like 30k+ for them, which is insane!

Greetings from Germany. With this song, the guys from electric Callboy parody the typical German music for pensioners. They didn't get admission for the Eurovision Song Contest because their music doesn't match the standard radio music. I think they were trying to make fun of that.

As the comment with the most upvotes shows again there are Germans especially metal fans, but quite in general rock and hip hop fans as well, to be fully honest though, you can find people that dislike schlager everywhere. To hate schlager is just a "cool" thing to do because schlager is considered as music for old people and people with no taste by a lot of these people or music you can only tolerate when you're drunk. There actually is a kind of schlager, namely party or ballermann schlager that really is targeted for drunk people, but that is the only schlager that is intended to be heard drunk. Still nearly all of them see schlager just as schlager. That's the same as saying everything is rock. Of course as in every genre there is good and bad schlager. The thing with schlager is though there probably is more bad schlager than bad from whatever genre, because it's true that schlager is pretty much the only music nowadays that appeals to older people in a wider sense and I guess these people are just happy that there is still music being made for them and therefore they are not as picky. I guarantee that many of the grandparents of these people listen to schlager and they have no problem with insulting their grandparents music taste. But that by no means all schlager is bad. Also what they like to do is reference Helene Fischer as schlager. She actually is Germany's biggest star, probably ever, even bigger than Rammstein, although right now they seem to have the upper hand again a little bit and yes she started her career as a schlager singer although she actually never intended to. But with time her music became more and more pop up to the point that she actually is making pop in my opinion right now and not schlager anymore. But since those people don't care for her they still say she is a schlager singer and give her as an example, as the example for schlager. In reality this style of schlager here in this song's first part is pretty much exactly the style Michael Wendler did, as others said in comments all over this song indeed and this guy is... special as well to be true. At first he played a role but he turned quite crazy or maybe or probably was from the very beginning actually. One of his songs "Egal" became a huge meme in Germany in the past few years actually. I don't know if you will see this or even care about. I just wanted to point this out because I'm tired of these ignorant people talking shit and feeling cool about it. To be clear noone has to like schlager but making fun of other people's music taste is just weak especially when nowadays many people demand tolerance everywhere, but it seems that music taste, which is a part of your personality as well actually in my opinion doesn't count apparently.

I have heard that this song was making fun of a competition they entered a song in but it was not allowed in that competition. The Schlager part of the song was what they were asking fun of and then just destroying it with their deathcore metal. I understand that people familiar with the German cultural background may see this as a well done parody and critic while those without this knowledge just may think "wtf is this shit".
So who is the women Mia Julia? Some insinuate that she is a prostitute. I don't think so, she is a performer, singer, dancer, animator and most important a "Rampensau" (my dict. translate it with "stage hog"). The situation may be similar to US spring break (? I never experienced this myself). Thousands of German young, mostly low class women and men fly to the Spanish island of Mallorca. Many are already drunk when the fall out of the airplanes. Their idea of an ideal summer holiday is "titties 'n' beer". "Oversexed and underfucked" the go to one of the many German run beer tents at the beach, "to have fun". And here Mia Julia's job starts. Half bar, singing schlager she gets the beer tent boiling. As a rampensau she animates the drunken dudes to do some easy "dance" moves and to chant the chorus of the simple songs, simple enough that even the dumbest dud after ten beers still can bellow it.
This definitively is not the annual conference of the Goethe literature society, but a multimillion tourism business. Mia Julia can't really sing or dance on a professional level, but as an animator she is highly professional and pretty good.
One can say that this kind of mass tourists are braindead zombies. And this is precisely what EC shows us in the video 😇🤪
