You have to remember that diseases like tuberculosis (aka consumption) were around back then that got people fairly young. Infant and child mortality was higher then, too.
Nice video, thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Always enjoy listening to your perspective on whatever your looking at or doing. Wishing you and your family the best.
I strangely like walking through grave yards to. I think it's the history that I like about it. It's kinda like walking through junkyards and seeing history. I love history.
You make a good point about the age at which people died years ago. We don't live healthy simple lives anymore and most probably die these days from stress related issues and poor diet. There wasn't much variety in your diet in the 1700's and not all the imported fruit so people had supposed vitamin deficiency. I would imagine our diet is worse these days and the vitamin intake just as bad. Not much healthy good stuff in cans of coke and ready meals. I can remember visiting cemeteries on school trips to draw the engravings on the headstones. It's a different world now
When I was in the 8th grade in 1975,we went around as a class to all the old cemeteries in Fairfield Vermont and sketched a lot of the designs on the old headstones, they have lost a lot of the artwork today
Nice video I’m in Norfolk England , usually the richer people lived longer and had the money for a head stone the poor worked hard and lived in poorer conditions they would also only have a wooden cross
You have to remember that the ones that lived into their 80s and beyond were offset by all the ones that died as children. The number is an average. Overall we are living longer due to fewer dying as children.
The graveyard is infested with ground moles. They burrow through the ground eating worms and grubs. the mounds of dirt is what they dig out . They spend most of there time underground so cats don't work well. Only other ground moles find them pleasing to look at. And now you know.
They grew there own food and soil was very rich in minerals . also no chemicals in water etc 150 years ago. there are lots of christians but church attendance is declining sadly .
The mounds of soil are from an animal we call a mole. I think in the countryside we are more respectful and religion is more respected than in the more built up areas. Don’t forget we are Church of England or Wales depending where you are predominantly and Catholic Churches are less common all down to king Henry 8 I’ve enjoyed your videos for many years. Good luck and enjoy your stay
I am from a mining village in the UK and I have always like looking thought the stones in the local cemeterys and there are a good few that got to good ages back in the day more women then men tbf any that died young are normally really young from what I have seen or they died in the mines. I think they live better lives back then may be not in the city's but country people eat good food and where very active
@onelonleyfarmer how the hell did I miss that !! Lol I'll have to go back and pay better attention i did have a hawk attack on one of my chickens during the video I must have missed during that
You make great videos, and your down-to-earth nature is admirable.

Hi Wes, for a second I thought that could have been the church yard we live next to on our farm! Glad you enjoyed your trip.

My Dad's place in Oregon had moles that left little mounds of dirt like those you were finding...

They are mole hills…small ground borrowing creatures that feed on the worms…make a real mess of grassland if they aren’t kept on top of
It crap in the food and the toxic medicine
