I was going to start a Garden Gate project this weekend and was just casually looking through videos on the subject. Funny that the drawing you showed is the same exact one I will be building.
Man I have been looking for a video on the arches for about 4 hours. One that I could actually understand. Thank you so much for uploading this! I love it!
excellent video, great job, I am building my backyard and after looking at many ideas, my wife and I have chosen this design that will certainly look beautiful in our garden, thank you for taking the time to illustrate with the graphics and show us the construction process
Ok,,,,,first thanks for making this and posting it.I used it to make my own arch/gate.. Now for the question for you: I want to use some solar lights to light up the arch but I dont want to have the lights in the way of mowing the grass. I wanted to be able to see the whole arch from a distance so I knew where it was in the dark, but I did not want to blind people that are walking to it. any ideas how you would light the arch you make in this video if you want the solar spot lights to be not on the ground so they dont get mowed down, nor do you want to have the spot lights too distracting?
@@JohnsonFamilyFarmstead Tonight my wife and I walked around Menards and looked at all the solar powered spot lights. The only one that stuck out was a type that is designed to be used to light a flag pole. But it just is not what I really want... Im still looking and looking for ideas?
One idea Im now thinking about is to have the lights at the top and inside ,between the top bars The idea is that the light itself would not been seen as you walk to the arch, but it would light up the side posts and the ground between them. But...im not sure thats the look I after?
Beautiful

Looks really good,
Hey great video! Btw, how many inches away from the end of the 2x10 are you putting the framing square? 3:45
Thanks! I set the square far enough so that you can cut a square edge on the end. There is a link to the instructions I followed in description.

Thanks Alan! I’m glad that the video was helpful. I was thinking some lights that would mount to the posts themselves and shine up might work.
