I don't deny that he is definitely on his way to getting drunk. But I doubt he was on heroin. He obviously drinking.. And maybe even on coke. But as I read in his book, when it came time to touring he would mostly drink. He weened off heroin when he knew they were gonna tour. But he has done interviews where was high off his ass.. Exp- politically incorrect interview. I was just embarrassed for him. But it was in the past. He's sober, and doesn't even smoke anymore. Not since his mom died of lung cancer.
According to his book, and who knows how accurate his own memory is, he only had two major heroin phases. The first during the bands club days, and the second (which was the worst, combined with speed balling) was after the 1988 tour with Aerosmith. This phase lasted between 88-90 with who he was dating his now current girlfriend Meegan Hodges. Apparently she was clueless the entire time he was out of it. He snapped out of it just as the band was getting ready to commit to the Use Your Illusions recording sessions. That's not to say he didn't have the odd shot of it here and there but most of his binges came while the band wasn't working...This is why he formed 'Snakepit' as well as guest guitar played on everyone records during the 90's to keep busy from falling off the wagon. Nice to see him and Duff with Axl again, I had a chance to see the tour opener last year and will hopefully be seeing them again in November.

@konidarrylreload I wonder if there is a difference in the langueges here. Here in Norway we say that people are hight if they've been takin cocaine, speed or meth. We don't call people high when they are on sedatives, opiates like heroine, or even when they've been smooking weed. It's obvious to me that Slash is on something in the last category. Is that to be high in English, or is there another word to describe when people are on those types of drugs?
In the US "High" used to refer to being drunk but in these days and now, high would be anything from weed to heroin. Heroin would also be tweeking, weed would also be stoned. I don't know everything cause I only drink.
