An absolute great pump especially because the pressure is no different at the gun and only drops 10psi while spraying no need to up the pressure to account for the length of spray line most pumps i have used drop 50psi from pump to gun morning pete i hope you are well my friend

Great sprayer I'm surprised that this didn't come out sooner , but I'm happy because it's made in USA . I also want to point out that the canister that's attached to the sprayer to pour in paint am concerned that there wasn't a lid provided in case you dropped something it will fall in the paint also to prevent paint dry out second thing is I think it should have a better support at the bottom like some type of rubber for the vibration and moving around to prevent any of the seals to go out while it's intact if that makes sense and for the fan location it's a bit small and by now I would've thought they had some type of filter that can be washed out or replaced to prevent dust and paint just like our air handler an easy slide in slide out air filter would suffice. My other concern is the feet. I've always lost a rubber slip on piece just like the handle it works itself out. That should've been replaced with square snap =in rubber feet to keep in place and not have to worry about losing the rubber feet or scratching floors etc. but all around it's a step forward to great improvement. My spray finishes will not be sagging or over excessively putting paint in tight areas. This is great for spraying experience but they still have to work on its framing to be able to wrap the hoses easier a location to snap in the spraygun in a grabbing handle that's more secure in the centre distributing the weight evenly not having to carry it awkwardly again this is a step forward Big plus for the motor compartment
Great to hear from you my friend, sharing your thoughts on various points 👍🙏 ..The hopper kit does come with a lid that snaps on neatly 👍 A point I can share about the fan - it very rarely comes on, and I hear it’s not designed to cool the motor as such because the new XT motor runs more efficiently and cool. Hi Pete, shame on you for making me feel the envy... 😁 On the subject of a nice cleaning brush I found MR.SIGA Long Handle Bottle Brush sold on Amazon amazing for cleaning my buckets and the paint hopper.
Cracking vid that Pete, even though I can't justify the spend on one of those beauts, I can still salivate and dribble at the prospect that maybe one day I could!! 😅 Absolutely love the Graco contractor guns aswell, an absolute game changer for me personally. If you don't mind could I pick your brains? I lent one of my old Wagner airless sprayers to my mate a few months ago so he could mist coat his new build. Unfortunately he hasn't cleaned it out properly and there appears to be clogged paint right through from the syphon to the end of the hose, what, if anything, would you do to try and free it up? I thought about trying to run some neat virosol through it and just leave it in overnight. I seldom use it but don't wanna chuck it because it's been a great machine for me down the years. Virosol is certainly a legitimate option to try - a similar ‘alternative’ that’s in the household degreaser category is Elbow Grease.. it’s a very inexpensive but somehow hugely effective degreaser / cleaner.. it’s awesome at lifting, cleaning, and flushing waterborne acrylics / vinyls.. I’ve never really looked into what’s in it that works so well, but it’s something I’ve always kept handy.. it’s worth a shot, starting with that 👍 don’t give up, I’m sure you can sort it 👍 let me know how you get on, I’ll also ask around for some guidance.. regards Pete 💙💯

I'll certainly look into that, I managed to tinker with it this evening and I think I got some virosol right through the pump and into the hose so I've just left it in the garage overnight. An update on the virosol results. Worked a treat, I managed to flush everything through with hot water. Alot of skins flew out the end of the hose until the 3rd bucket was running lovely and clear. Not sure what the virosol did but the pump sounded so much sweeter than before aswell! If anyone has a similar problem, virosol is the answer!!

The XT technology is certainly a feat of engineering.. with the right tip selection, you could certainly spray Dulux Weathershield straight out the can 👍 My preferred exterior smooth masonry paint is PPG Johnstones Stormshield, sprays beautifully out the can with an LP 515 👌 ..You can access stored information on litres / gallons sprayed on a job and a lifetime count 👍 great to hear from you as always.. hope you’re keeping well my friend.. regards Pete 💙💯

So the XT motor, in having an increase in torque, is able to spin cooler and quieter - so you get the improved service life as you say - And a steady running pressure, that is delivering improved efficiency to the gun.. Which actually improves even further with the future release of the Contractor XT PowerShot guns - an XT pairing ‘unlocks’ additional features.. Great vid, Iv had mine a couple of months, Iv found I get a build up of paint around the nozzle of the gun so it drips, on the last couple of exteriors Iv done, new gun tip and guard etc. is it due to the paint not being watered down enough you think? Not enough pressure for the viscosity of the paint? Cheers in advance.
Thank you for watching, and great news on your investment.. is the paint building up on the tip guard, then dripping from there.. this can happen if the pressure is too high and / or too close to the surface being sprayed - what happens is the material under high pressure bounces back and eventually builds up on the tip guard ..often occurs with exteriors because instinct can be to get closer to avoid overspray.. apologies, I’m by no means saying your setup is wrong my friend.. just could be worth lowering the pressure (spray on test paper first), certainly check that paint is being atomised effectively at the lowest possible pressure - I don’t typically look to thin, then only a max 10% if I’m looking to ease the flow and lower the pressure as much as possible ..Hope this helps a little, keep in touch my friend.. regards Pete 💙💯
@@PaintHQ thanks Pete, yeah I'm thinking pressure too high... The tip was making a sound like it was really squeezing it out.... I think only by 10 as well, Dulux actually recommended 5 to 1 so actually 20% I'm guessing...
Technical questions for you my friend I assume it comes with a standard 15m hose 1/4 bore are you able to change to a shorter smaller bore hose and would there be any significant issues if you do
Good question my friend.. Yeah the Ultra 495 XT ships with a 15m 1/4” hose, and yes it’s no problem at all to swap to a smaller more flexible hose, such as a 7.5m 3/16” 👍 Perfect for fine finish spraying smaller quantities, in conjunction with a hopper 👍 Regards Pete 💙💯

Great vid, Iv had mine a couple of months, Iv found I get a build up of paint around the nozzle of the gun so it drips, on the last couple of exteriors Iv done, new gun tip and guard etc. is it due to the paint not being watered down enough you think? Not enough pressure for the viscosity of the paint? Cheers in advance.
Thank you for watching, and great news on your investment.. is the paint building up on the tip guard, then dripping from there.. this can happen if the pressure is too high and / or too close to the surface being sprayed - what happens is the material under high pressure bounces back and eventually builds up on the tip guard ..often occurs with exteriors because instinct can be to get closer to avoid overspray.. apologies, I’m by no means saying your setup is wrong my friend.. just could be worth lowering the pressure (spray on test paper first), certainly check that paint is being atomised effectively at the lowest possible pressure - I don’t typically look to thin, then only a max 10% if I’m
looking to ease the flow and lower the pressure as much as possible ..Hope this helps a little, keep in touch my friend.. regards Pete 💙💯
@@PaintHQ thanks Pete, yeah I'm thinking pressure too high... The tip was making a sound like it was really squeezing it out.... I think only by 10 as well, Dulux actually recommended 5 to 1 so actually 20% I'm guessing...

Technical questions for you my friend I assume it comes with a standard 15m hose 1/4 bore are you able to change to a shorter smaller bore hose and would there be any significant issues if you do
Good question my friend.. Yeah the Ultra 495 XT ships with a 15m 1/4” hose, and yes it’s no problem at all to swap to a smaller more flexible hose, such as a 7.5m 3/16” 👍 Perfect for fine finish spraying smaller quantities, in conjunction with a hopper 👍 Regards Pete 💙💯
