Nice video. Thanks for posting. I fly a c172 but did a discovery flight in a cirrus recently. Just curious about the CAPS system...the cover to it appeared to be on during your flight. Is that because you didn't exceed the working altitude for CAPS during your pattern flight?
Thanks! They are super nice aircraft to fly! I love the CAPS system! Great peace-of-mind. That was my bad for the cover. Typically we train to remove cover, remove safety pin, replace cover half offset to the aft. If that makes sense. CAPS was definitely active for this flight, I just put the cover back on all the way. It does come off quick and easy if I ever needed to use the Chute. As for altitudes, in the SR20 CAPS is an option at or above 500ft AGL. With a 1000ft agl pattern altitude, I was verbally (saying it to myself) "CAPS Alive" everytime I crossed 500ft agl on take-off. Hope you get to fly another one soon!
