Reason why people buy in McDonald's because Jollibee doesn't have anymore seats available.
Funny but is sometimes true haha
Not really. My sister prefers Mcdo over Jollibee because of the fries
yupp lol
@tk421missing I think I have to agree with you. I ate one time in McDonald's and I happened to met this American guy and he always complain why mcnuggets in the Philippines is so small. An employee explained because we don't use much of an extenders to the chicken meat unlike US and the American guy agreed that even if it had a small serving but it tastes even better. So yeah, that makes sense
@@shem5324 I agree, Jollibee is not well known for their fries although there were some attempts but they can't dominate fries. And by the way fries? No nobody comes close to Potato Corner even McDo cant beat it. Search Potato Corner 😂
I'm American and love Jollibee. Ate there often in the Philippines. We have a Jollibee in Las Vegas that my wife and I go to from time to time. Nice.
Very nice!
are you ethnically Filipino?
@mistaeric its the dressing in the burger they hate, too sweet to their liking. :)
Spaghetti on the other hand is much appreciated.
@mistaeric They literally described the chicken as I would, moist and tasty. Bought my friend Jollibee and he was hesitant at first and told me he didn't like the burger but loved the spaghetti. Also the palabok is great according to him.
@mistaeric I suddenly tried to remember seeing TV/movie characters ravaging pieces of fried chicken. None came to mind. So now I am thinking you could be right. Is it a known fact that most westerners don't like fried chicken? I honestly am curious.
Whenever we’re in Cebu it’s Jollibee every time!
This is the only place in the world where McDonald's is #2
Agree
Haha true.
hahahaha agree!!
No McDonald's in Vietnam, though... but there's Jollibee.
@@HachikoThePoochInugami HAHA YEAH
At one point in time Philippines was the only country wherein McDonald's wasnt the number 1 fastfood place where they were in (most recently KFC is no 1 in China). That's because we had Jollibee, which captured the Filipino taste perfectly. Sweet Spaghetti, Crispy and juicy chicken, burgers with sweet style sauce and the adorable mascot to boot!
Filipinos grew up with this stuff and Jollibee has now opened up restaurants around the world where there are significant Filipino population and the company itself is now the biggest Asian restaurant company and is planning/or in the process of buying up other popular Asian brands (Din Tai Fung, Tim Ho Wan).
Whenever a new out of country location opens up, Filipinos line up the night before just to have a taste of home (most recently in London where people waited in line for up to 18hrs). So yeah, it's a source of pride and nostalgia for us =)
True. and McDonald's kinda patterned their menu after Jollibee in the Philippines.
Jollibee a home far away from home.
Been to China twice and yeah I noticed there are more KFC than McDonald’s.
So proud of Jollibee 😍
Pero para sa akin mas paborito yung mang inasal hahaha palaging punuan
Jollibee sells happiness to more Filipinos compared to Mcdonald's. That's why some of their menu is called Chicken Joy and Jolly Spaghetti :) Filipino is a family oriented people. Take a look around the store: the murals (more on family-themed). They can't use the term "happy" 'cos Mcdonald's already got this with their Happy Meal :)
Well there's a new Jollibee in London - Earls Court. The queue's during the first 2 weeks were over 6 hours long!! Filipino's are crazy for their Chicken Joy's and sweet spaghetti!!
Wow!
@@TheJuicyVlog nice
That's great you tried it too! Every filipino kid grew up with jollibee. Every bite brings out childhood memories. Either one has celebrated his/her birthday in jollibee or got invited to one.
You should have ordered Peach Mango Pie, You will definitely love it..
Yeah peach mango
They recently added two new pies as well. The chocolate marshmallow and ube pies.
Preach
I agree
Good thing you tried it there in the Philippines. Jollibee UK opening 9 hours wait and u need a ticket for the next days,
That is if you get the ticket
You guys are incredible!!! Can't wait to see what happens on your next leg of your trip, I will be watching every step of the way and congratulations on 13,000 subscribers, you both deserve the best!!!
200/300php for a tricycle ride? Next time kindly take note of the body number/plate number of the vehicle/s. The Philippine government and the MAJORITY OF THE FILIPINOS will NEVER allow such abused from the locals.
Bill Thomas grabe nmn 300 for a 30 second ride, sana ireport ung mga ganyan na driver
SOME filipinos take advantage on foreigners. Its just embarassing. Please be careful when traveling in the PH for the first time, they will definitely get greedy when they see foreigners.
That's always the case when you travel to palawan and boracay.. Even for local tourist they do that...
Nakakahiya talaga mga yan kaya hndi umangat ang buhay puro panggugulang
Next time, please take note that tricycle drivers should not charge you that high. We don't want to encourage a culture of corruption.
Hey Lucy & George...it's good to see you both try Jollibee foods! Just to let you know Jollibee just opened their very 1st branch in London, England just last month..
I would love to see you both Filipino streetfoods! Yay..cheers!
Amazing thanks!
McDonald's is called McDo (makdo) by Filipinos. Jollibee is their number one competitor. But in the Philippines Jollibee is leading not only in taste of food but also the number of branches. Jollibee has more than 1,000 branches excluding the overseas branches while McDonald's Phils has more than 500 branches. Their competition is really a tough one. When Jollibee sets its branch, McDonald's will also set it in the same area either in front or near of it. Likewise, when McDo builds its branch, Jollibee will also set up its branch near the area. During store opening, McDo will set up a sound system that is very loud facing Jollibee and on the other hand Jollibe will do the same thing... When you see how they compete, it's so funny... I'm a witness because I was once a supplier of McDo...
lol. McDonald's do that to get the overflow. I only go to McDonald's if the queue in Jollibee is too freaking long. And if Jollibee is already done with research of the market, McDonald's doesn't need to do their own research.
nestor panganiban Hahaha that's also my keen observation!
I only eat in Jollibee nowadays. I stop eating at mcdo because the place where we order our mc chicken the meat of the chicken is way too small compared to jollibee.
nestor panganiban filipino are idiot jollibee is just a fastfood
@Eisham Manulon you're the idiot. We know it's fastfood you brainless fuck.
Jollibee is originated from the Philippines so we are aware it's fastfood fucking moron.
Guys,if your eating fried chicken take a dip in a gravy, and the spring roll in a sweet n spicy sauce, and oh there's a jolibee now in UK in London!
Okay guys please, if you don't know the transport fares? Don't ask the driver, because they will assume that you don't know the prices so they'll go for higher pot. So ask the locals, a lot of drivers are just plain ahole.
Well, first of all Jollibee originated here in the Philippines that is why there is a Filipino pride feeling when we see Jollibee much more when we are inside eating... Secondly, mc donalds is ok, it is also delicious but not as Filipino tasting as Jollibee.....
I believe its part chinese too
Jollibee for me is more delicious than McDonald's and much cheaper than McDonald's
For many Filipinos, especially those from the masses and lower classes, Jollibee is the equivalent of fine dining. They can just afford to eat at Jollibee on special occasions but would never be able to afford a meal at a full-service gourmet restaurant.
Thanks for watching!
I’ve seen some of your videos and thought to myself, you guys found the formula on how to get your Filipino audience and decided I’m not gonna be swayed by it. Buuuuut, somehow you two seem really nice and are actually fun to watch.. so here I am. I feel like, I will still be watching even though the content is not related to the Philippines. Haha! You guys wok me over-excited to see more. ♥️
Jollibee really gives you the Filipino warm goodvibes like whenever u are or what country you came from you would really feel at home....
Depends on the mood, actually. There are some foods in Jollibee that I prefer over McDonalds, and there are foods in McDonalds that I prefer over Jollibee.
For example, I love how the McDonalds cheeseburger have pickles. I also love their fries. I like Jollibee's hotdog and chicken, though.
I'm so sorry for the over priced tricycle fare. A lot of Filipinos are really nice, but there are really just desperate pinoysbbut even so it's not a good reason to trick foreigners like that. Next time, try asking locals who live nearby and not ask the tricycle drivers. Hope you enjoy your vacation here in the PH. 😊
Good idea! Thanks for watching ☺️
some of them overprice locals too, some tricycle bois tried tricking us into paying 80 pesos before when in fact it's just 25 pesos.. but that's a rare case, just saying that they do it to locals aswell.
you really should not apologize for anybody. y shud u?
@@jcie3424 to be even safer... if you become friendly to other people at where you staying at... for example an employee there...
just ask him or her to ask for a cab ride and just give him or her a tip.. like 10 - 20 pesos ... but thats only if you dont exactly know where you are going.... but for better opinion just grab UBER or GRAB app...
I DONT CARE wtf those fucking taxi nor tricycle drivers says about those guys... this app is MUCH SAFE AND FAIR than those pieces of private fuck! with so MUCH bad reputation and they think no one can fight them for it...but then here comes grab and uber! they fucking complain why people ride them more than theirs.... FUCKING stupid if you ask me...
atleast with those apps fares already labeled drivers can be known and can be reported... to make safer travels.
@@joeannaconcepcion5234 That's what one funny side of being a Filipino. Owning mistakes or apologizing mistakes of others. Just like a Filipino older brother protecting his younger brother and apologized on their parents on what he was did. But it's not good all the time tho. Not all Filipinos are just like that but some have really good heart and selfless.
Love all your videos!! Keep it up!!
Jollibee is more family oriented than McDonalds and a bit nostalgic if you ever grew up in the Philippines as a kid, and I think the sauce on your hotdog is ketchup and melted cheese, been a while since I ordered the jollyhotdog in Jollibee where I'm from (Philippines) ;-)
Jollibee is more popular than McDonalds. My favorite there is the Burger stake and palabok.. However, for my own opinion McDonald's has the tastier fries than Jollibee 😂
steak*
In my taste. Mcdo has the dry taste of fries than Jollibee so i better choose jolly fries than Mcdo. Observe it but i respect your food tatse.
I PREFERRED CHOWKING
Mcdo fries and spicy chicken
If it's fries, I'd rather have kfc's... Or potato corner 😂😂😂
The yellow sauce is like mustard, kinda.. we call it HD dressing, a special dressing made only for jollibee.
Thanks for watching!
HD? Honey Dijon Mustard?
No.. Just HotDog dressing 😅
Wait... That's seriously what they called it....?
that's some High Definition sauce right there
I like both of you. Most honest and lovable couple that i have watched and followed. Please continue featuring our country. I hope to bump you guys whenever you visited Manila...Thank you being so inspiring and candid to your videos..An avid follower here from Manila, Philippines. 😊😊😊
thanks for watching!
The presentation of their meals are so fancy and pretty!
Both McDonalds and jollibee are rivals here... both are popular actually but since jollibee is a filipino food it has more edge here. Buns are steamed especially the hotdog. You shouldve tried the aloha burger which is their prime burger as well as the peach mango pie for the sweet ending. Nice honest review though. Good luck on next journey.
Thanks for watching!
@@TheJuicyVlog actually jollibee owns the competition in the fast food market in the philippines 😉
Both are famous. But Jollibee fits the Filipino taste and gives more of the aura of the Filipino culture. 😊😊
Thanks for watching!
I love your video guys! Keep it up! ❤️
You guys are lovely! Just watched your cebu mall vlog awhile ago and it was really fun! I'm from Cebu myself and could relate to everything. 😆
There’s JOLLIBEE in the UK now
I very rarely eat in jollybee or Macdonalds I eat in Rai Rai Ken Japanese restaurant it’s a different world altogether it’s actually healthy food
You were ripped off by the trike driver you should not have paid more than 20 pesos for that short ride
Jollibee in London.
👌😁✌
A newly opened Jollibee is at Ear's Court Road, London SW5! another will soon open in Victoria!
really
The two British couple so amazing gambatte kudasai
That yellow sauce in the hotdog sandwich is Manhattan Dressing (I think) . So nice to see foreigners trying our fastfood chains though yoy have them in your country. Thank you for visiting 💕
I susbed,liked and get notified.great vid!
I'm from Singapore and Jollibee is very popular too!
cool!
hello again beautiful people, i wanted to comment on why we filipino chose jollibee over mcdonald (on my own opinion) is that jollibee focuses mainly on the FILIPINO TASTE (panlasang pinoy) and serves meal that fits the taste of filipino (like PALABOK), thats why we patriotize jollibee.. Mcdonalds and jollibee i think are rivals here..
Glad you didn't miss your bus! Cool fast food tasting. We're lucky in my town theres a place called rice time that has really good asian food but it's fast as well. Happy travels! 😎
Sounds delicious!!
we go to both. Mcdo here in philippines is different. They have chicken ala king & fries they have different kinds with there is shake shake fries with flavors of powder like homey butter or barbeque or cheese & occasssionally they also seasonal serve twister fries. Nuggets here added different dips like tomayo curry sauces & cheese sauces
The yellow sauce in jollibee hotdog is their version of mustard and for me personally i dont like royal with float, the coke float is very nice and the peach mango pie and chocolate is good also
Thank you!
"a school canteen cheeseburger, a really kinda cheap burger" this one just made my day ahahaha
LoL same for me I had that laugh
Glad to know you like the spaghetti, jollibee just open last october in earls court, london and we queue for hours. All the best😛
I just love how u react to Filipino food, be safe guys!
now you have jollybee in uk in london just newly opened.
Thanks!
I don't know what McDonald's tastes like in the West, but here in the Philippines, McDonald's chicken are really, really dry. You should try Philippine McDonald's sometime while you're still here, to see what I mean. That's why I prefer Jollibee over McDonald's. McDonald's PH does have something called "McSpicy" though; it's a burger with spicy chicken cutlets -- for some reason, their chicken in this particular dish is quite moist, but it's the only moist chicken in their entire menu, everything else feels like cardboard. Also, McDonald's burgers here are probably not comparable to what you'd get in the UK or the USA -- our McD's burgers are quite similar to Jollibee's.
Wow thank you for the information!
to be fair,i've never had any dry mcdonalds chicken anywhere in the philippines. all the chickens i've had at any mcdonalds i've been through are just as juicy as jollibee's.
McDonalds doesn't have chicken in their menu in Canada and the US. KFC & Popeyes are the chains to go to for chicken.
Its dry also her in Malaysia i miss our country pride jollibee
Your content is really intriguing, you guys seem to immerse yourselves in all that you set out to do whether it's sightseeing or eating local dishes! It's so fun to watch!
Can I just say that you are the first youtube couple I look up to with COUPLE GOALS in mind. You are thoughtful of each other and those around you and I especially admire that when there are so many couples that are either too engrossed in each other to notice others or too self serving that they take their partner for granted.
I love the way you vlog, it truly feels like a partnership with how you both put your two-cents in. Great partnership! 💖
Will be watching from now on!
I want to refer a place for you to visit someday soon, pls keep an eye out for when I do!
Much love! 💘
Just discovered ur channel and I’m binge watching your Philippine travel vlogs 😁
Wait til you're back in UK. They recently opened a Jollibee in London 😁
You should try visiting Filipino Malls.
The yellow sauce in the hotdog is jollibee's version of honey mustard, and as i recall more than 20 years ago, jollibee started having some products same with macdonald but having their version that catch the taste of the filipinos and the service is faster ,because way back then the service in macdonalds is a little bit slacky. thats how it started as i remembered ♥
I worked before in Jollibee and George about the Jolly Hotdog (that's they call it )sauce basically they are relish and mayo then with ketchup and cheese on top ...
Jollibee is number 1 fastfood in PH, the yellow sauce is mustard
No it is a dressing
for Jollibee burger the best will be something called bacon and cheese the champ
It was always makes me happy when foreigner like our one of a kind jollibee😊 thank you guys
So tempted to go down to London to have Jollibee. I miss it so much
The Philippines is the only country where McDonald's can't keep up with it's main local competitor, which is Jollibee. McDonald's actually sort of copies Jollibee's offering, menu-wise. That's a piece of trivia for you.
Probably one of the reason why mcdo couldnt keep up or didnt keep up is because mcdo franchise here offers junk burgers. Kung yun taste at quality ng US burgers ang binebenta ng mcdo dito - ewan ko lang kung makabenta pa ng burger ang jollibee. But i have to give hats off to chickenjoy but recently jollibee modified the recipe. A far cry from the old chickenjoy glorious taste in the 80s.
@@leluthor5357 80's were good. Fun times.
True yung ibang menu ng jollibee ginagaya ng mcdo hahaha
Baliktad kayo! Jollibee ang kumokopya sa McDo!
Truth, before magopen ng branch ung mcdo dito sa philippines the owner went to the US to benchmark mcdonalds so before pa magclick ung mcdonalds meron nang jollibee na nauna, you can search it, we did our research on it when i was in school. I'm not against jollibee cause i grew up eating jollibee and i love jollibee, he's so cute especially when he dances.
Here in Philippines, Jollibee is more famous than Mc Donald here on our country. Why? Because many kids love it and even olders love it 😋👌
Yum!
My mom and sister loves McDonalds. My kids and I like Jolibee. I guess because it’s been awhile since I had Jolibee and we just recently had it here in Toronto that is now a novelty
Yes! you miss to order the Peach Mango Pie, that's one of the favorite Pie customers are ordering, try it next time and you'll love it, and also try the Pineapple Juice.
Sounds AMAZING!
that yellow sauce in your hotdog, is mustard.
its not mustard. its cheese sauce
the yellow stuff is soggy CHEESE and i love it i mean i live there
It's such a coincidence when you're watching a review of Jollibee and all of the sudden a McDonald's ad pops up😂😂😂
You look so good together! So adorable. ❤❤
Jollibee is no.1 in the Philippines because it catches Filipino taste. You should have gotten Aloha Burger, Peach Mango Pie, and Sundaes!
Beg to disagree on sundaes though. Try mo kfc kreamery and you will never go back to jb and even mcdo again
They got Aloha Burger, but from the video it doesn't look good. It's so different from Aloha Burgers in other branches.
You can't be here in the Phil without tasting our Jollibee! Try spicy chicken, aloha burger, palabok fiesta, peach mango pie and halo halo. Enjoy guys 😊
That peach mango pie sounds amazing!
i'm a new fan! subscribed :)
New subbie here! Glad that you liked Jollibee. Hope you’re both enjoying your stay in the Philippines! :)
Jollibee is now in London! 😊🐱
Thanks for watching!
I thought it was Peter Mckinnon on the thumbnail lol
haha! i'll take that as a compliment! wish I had his camera gear though!
I love watching food blogs...u guys make me drool :)
Hi guys, the yellow one on top of the hotdog is cheese.
jollibee is really filipino taste, mcdonald is more less tasty but love the fries in mconald salty one
They both have good parts don't they :)
Aloha burger??? that is new... that burger is famous in the Jolibee US, but I rather eat the CHAMP burger which is their original burger. In UK, your full monty English breakfast is the best!
We will try the CHAMP next time!!
i used to work in jollibee. what you have in the jolly hotdog is honey-mustard dressing.
The chicken is referred to as chickenjoy and the hotdog sauce is like mustard, mayo etc. Love your videos! England is getting colder. 😁🤣
they are rivals.... mc donald very international taste but jolibee is like home taste for filipino
300 pesos for a 30 seconds ride is not right.. usually it will only cost you for a bout 30 pesos or less for 2 people. So sorry if you've experienced that.. Hope it won't happen again
Exactly! They have been tricked! arghhhhh! Makes me angry and sad at the same time
They have Hollie in the Uk too. All over Asia America and one in Milan too
Just came from your latest video on Jollibee Buko Pie taste test. 😊
I am from Puerto Princesa. And I am immensely sorry for your experience about the tricycle driver asking you for way too much for such a short ride. It is embarassing for locals to do that to tourists. But I hope that experience did not tarnish all the great memories you had here. 😊
Yes. There will always be 1 rotten scoundrel that will tarnish the good memories. But considering the Phils is a 3rd world economy, there will always be someone trying to earn a quick buck from tourists. It's the sad truth, a bitter pill we have to swallow cos to earn enough to put food in the table is a daily struggle for locals, hope you understand the situation but i am hoping it has not tarnished in any way your love for our country.
In terms of burger and fries, McDonald's is far better than Jollibee. Some students also prefered McDonald's because of their budget meals (Chicken Fillet/Ala King) and their floats.
But in terms of chicken, nothing beats Jollibee but sad to say their portions are quite small (than KFC). But taste and their spicy chicken is undeniably good.
And KFC? Hmm.. maybe because their gravy is unlimited? Lol.
I think we agree with all of that! Thanks for watching! 😁
You guys are amazing trying out Asian food . I live permanently in the UK but in terms of food I think the English people are the ones difficult to persuade about trying out food. So well done
Watching this during Quarantine makes me Drool. I miss Jollibee
I just eat Jollibee sphagetti, and chicken this afternoon.. its no longer same taste as before..
And TLC yum burger ..the bread is no longer the same its like a 3 days bread .. the chicken is no longer crunchy.. and the noodles of sphagetti is like overcooked ...some branch doesnt serve and maintain the standard of jollibee..
Thanks for watching!
Agree with you.
I'm filipino and jollibee and mcdo, they're rivals
Glad you enjoying our famous chicken joy that’s what we called in our chicken in jollibee and the spaghetti 🍝
Thanks!
Great video!
Hi,its nice to hear you liked the taste of our famous local fast food chain in the Philippines. Jollibee cannot be compared by macdonals in terms of where they came from but its the only filipino food chain who lasted up to this generation in the Philippines and who adopted the western food lifestyle.Try our Mang Inasal too (native chicken). Awesom Vlog guys, hope to see more.
From the bus terminal to atm machine and to jolibee is like a 40-60 peso ride. I'm from Puerto princesa
To answer you question about the yellow hotdog sauce, I think that is a mix of mayonnaise and mustard. Not so sure, but that is what it taste like to me.
try the chicken joy original flavor. I'd also recommend the champ and aloha burgers.
ughhhh. craving for Jollibee at 12:21AM. huhu
Mcdo and Jollibee are rivals...
The reason why jollibee is so popular bcoz, when we hear the word Jollibee, its means, nostalgia, childhood memories, family bondings at jollibee every payday, memorable birthday parties...jollibee means, happy childhood memories bcoz we have jollibee since childhood and the happiness that we felt whenever we get the collectible toys from every Jollibee Kiddie Meal...
being a filipino i think the reason we favor jollibee or jobee/jabi more aside from local taste is because it has become a tradition especially for average families. it became a parent's promise when you do good in school and the likes it became a reward for every growing kid here in the philippines. "anak galingan mo sa school pag pasado ka mag-jollibee tayo." (do well in school if you do we'll go to jollibee) 😊
no.1 in the Philippines Juicy Vlog ... everywhere in the world now has it... of course for Filipino.
The brown sauce is gravy, a sauce for fried chicken. The orange sauce is a sweet n sour sauce is for lumpia shanghai(roll)..u can ask a catsup sauce at d counter for ur burger, french fries or hotdog.. when u eat a palabok or spaghetti, mix well before u eat..enjoy eating guys.love to watch ur vblog..from Davao City..
I loves your vlogs! Keep it up for more! Enjoy staying in philippines
Wow, You look fit and wayyyy better now😍
I don’t know if the tricycle driver was a scammer or anything for that, but I think prices vary from each provinces in the Philippines.
For example from were I’m from it’s 10 Php per person (if there are 4 of you) if it’s like a10-15 min ride and it’s 40 php if you’re alone
