Senegal is on my bucket list. I'm sure I had an ancestor on Goree Island going through The Point of No Return!😢 Senegal as well as Nigeria is a part of my African ancestry.
Recently went to senegal. I was disappointed with the jollof/thieboudienne, but i liked the poulet yassa. It's a beautiful country with lovely people. The best jollof i've had in west africa was in Gambia. Nigeria comes second.
So, they ask you for a photocopy of your passport before boarding because the price of the trip is not the same if you are African (it's cheaper) or if you are not African (more expensive). Your guide did not rip you off. I think there was a misunderstanding because there are two types of thieboujene (jollof rice): red and white. We served you the white
You should have had the jollof at one of those restaurants at Goree island even though it's slightly more pricey. That thing i'm seeing does not look like Jollof. Sorry for your experience. The Senegal Jollof is okay but I still prefer my Nigerian/Ghana Jollof.
We thought the tour guide would give us the authentic local experience cause he kept hyping about this place. Called ahead to place our order and even told us the first lady of Congo went there to eat. But he insisted and someone else also commented that they have two types of jollof in Senegal, the red and white. From that alone I already know I deffs prefer Nigerian/Ghanaian jollof
tcheb is what Jolloff came from and it tastes amazing !! the ignorance of these travelers is astounding!! did u do any research on Senegal before you went??! even white people know about Tcheb. i feel so sorry for the guide.
Please don’t talk down on a country’s food in a public space like RUclips if you don’t like it you talk within yourself plus even here not every restaurant’s food is nice my family and I lived in Senegal for a couple of years and loved their food
@@deborahallanah the title is click bait. If you actually watch the video you’ll hear I didn’t talk down on their food. It just wasn’t what me and my friends were expecting
Na wa- Every other video you post is of you in one country or the other- I thought you were supposed to be a Christian bible teacher now- How is all these travelling videos leading anybody to Jesus? Especially as the economy of Nigeria is so bad now. Many of your viewers who live in Nigeria will be watching this and be reminded of their poverty. I live and work in the UK so I am not bothered either way, but I understand the power of imagery and optics and I can tell you that whatever gospel sermon your preaching is being diluted by these exotic holiday videos you show- Is this a christian teaching Podcast or a holiday/owambe podcast- By all means travel and enjoy after all its your money, but be conscious of the people who watch you in Nigeria who can barely afford 3 square meals a day- God bless and safe journey---
They have red and white jollof.
I love this video, it reminded me of the years I spent in Senegal ❤❤
Lovely vlog, Akubeze. Congratulations! 👏👏👏👏👏

The tour guide should have specified that there are 2 types. Was the white one seasoned well at least? Great vlog though and you ladies looked lovely.

Catholics are also Christians. We believe in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and it’s through him we go to heaven. 🙏🏾

At 27:48 there is a drawing of a woman. That is Jamaica's only female national heroine, a warrior leader 'Nanny of the Maroons'.
Wow didn't even realise. Thanks for sharing Ken. Will look into her story more
