If one of the only things you can find to complain about is that you wish the kill switch button is reversed with the mapping button, you know it's a solid bike.
Perfect. Don't change the thing... If someone is going to throw out 10k for a dirt bike it better need nothing but fuel and wide open throttle for smiles... For years to come 🤣
I rode a new YZ250f last weekend - great bike !!! My current bike is a 23 KTM SX 250 smoker and a 21 Fact edition 450 - just checking when a test on the new Beta 450 is coming ???? great informative YZ video here - great job guys !!!!
I prefer my '21 for many reasons. The Twin Air dome style air filter kit is expensive and actually hurts power if the airbox capacity above the filter isn't increased. It also traps dirt around the edges that falls into the engine when the filter is removed for service. I use Twin Air's factory style (piece of toast) filter with PJ1 pink bubblegum oil. I cut away the flash arrestor screen with a Dremel tool to leave just the plastic spiderweb left to support the air filter. It sounds soo wicked when I'm WOT just grab'n gears! With the ProCurcuit T6 complete exhaust system and nasty tunes I have loaded into the ECU, it still gives me a thrill everytime. Nothing but premium non ethanol fuel with 2 ozs. of Klotz Nitro octane booster and 1 oz. of Stabil per 3 gallons.
I just picked up this bike the other day, any advice on the gearing, should i add a tooth to the rear to make it more friendly getting into 3rd rather than staying in 2nd so much it just has so much top end feels like a desert bike
Because magazines do the same and people want to know if it's worth buying or just want to see the new bike without schlepping to their dealer. And the "same" bike as last year was fantastic, this one has the 50th anniversary kit that looks fantastic - but my custom YZ250 already had this look 4 years ago (because I made it myself).... ;) @@Stinky_sack
@@5shifts I was referring to Road bikes, not mtb, and no, there’s still no excuse for it. Prices are way over inflated and have been for some time. Imagine what you can get for 15k in a dirt bike compared to a 15k sh*t bird Spec SL8.
Was thinking about getting this one because the graphic are so cool but I think imma wait til Ducati and triumph drop there bike and see what the new comp is looking like
Nice vid. Nice graphics, but why is it 50th in 90s style? Shouldn't it be blk/yellow? Also, I don't think there was a YZ450 back then. My opinion is only on their 2-strokes. Still the 50th ann mod with 90s graphics just makes no sense.
I would have to say I agree with the yellow and black to a point. They're shooting for Generation X to purchase these bikes. The 80s and 90s are when we grew up. Old guy like me are buying most of them.
Id only get a 450 as your first bike if you’re going to put a plate on it for dual sport or supermoto use. If you’re going to do trails or track use id get a 350 or even a 250. The 450 is just too much for someone’s first track bike or tight trail bike. You’ll get bad habits starting on one if that’s the riding you want to do. But if you want a street legal monster then I’d get the 450 for the torque.
Great vide! I just got this bike and love it. It’s identical to the 23. I was stoked my Gpr Stabilizer bolted right on.!! 👍 I’m considering getting my hands on a purple Gpr to match these new graphics
man as much as i like the Suzuki this bike is set up to win. but that exhaust is ugly as sin. i like the second gear pull with the limiter could win me races as i dont like a 450 without the limiter seems dangerous and costly. i like the low bars. without the middle bar. it comes stock with kyb suspension thats awesome. i like the cdi log and phone access mapping adjustments. could make the power more useful and not so violent power. quit crying about the seat you xont need it lol one thing i noticed is the prices for the 50th anniversary white plastic kit. just buy the stock blue and then buy the white 50th edition separately. as if you buy the 50th edition you will only have white plastic for a more expensive price lol buy the stock and you will have 2 plastics for the same price as the 50th edition price lol sales tactics lmao i like them both colors though. but the white is my favorite. old school man. awesome
The Yamaha and Honda are built the best, but they don't have the best chassis/overall handling. Tomac is pretty much the only guy who has done really well on the 23/24 gen bike. Honda is currently winning everything with Jett, but that frame he's running is very different than stock and borderline illegal for AMA.
Funny I see many of them over any bike at the track and no problems. Matter of fact every magazine has said Yamaha 250 and 450 over the years are the least problem bikes they have out of all of them! They put lots of hours on them.
@2216sammy The '22+ 250Fs are dropping valves and snapping timing chains left and right, hence the new timing system in the '24s. The local A riders and local pros are getting 20-30 hours out of them. The factory bikes settled on a max timing chain interval of 1.6 hours. I haven't heard of any issues with the 450Fs but then again i dont know many guys racing them at A class or Pro levels.

No it's not a high expectation, most of you guys race and own Austrian bikes and you can see the absolute blatant bias. When every other channel has the opposite opinion to you guys, it's concerning. Love the colour. I remember buying Motocross action magazine here in the UK as a kid when that colour was about in 94 or there abouts.
As a vet rider I prefer the WR version of the 450 it just does everything well. If I was strictly riding MX the yz250 is my choice. Love two strokes.
2-stroke or 4-stroke all the bikes are excellent. Can't go wrong! I own both. 💯 -Ohio

Why the black rims instead of the magenta / purple as on the team bikes at Washougal ? The premium over the standard model should cover that .

The scary thing is this very nice sophisticated dirt bike is cheaper than some high end road bikes from Specialized, Trek or other bike makers.
high end MTBs are HANDMADE, that's why they're expensive
And the engineering behind them is a lot more complex than you think

Black/Yellow my fav, but I think white/red is from 50 yrs ago.
I’ve used a hydralic clutch before and I hated it. If a new bike come with a cable still it’s a winner for me even if that means a Suzuki
But those ktm clutches are beefy while jap clutches are ticking time bombs in stock form
Sounds like you used a bad hydraulic clutch. I never want to go back to cable.
Hydraulic is literally just easier to pull and takes less effort
So if the bike is shacking should I go stiffer on compression?
Being a guy whose only rode atvs i wanna get my first dirt bike would it be a bad idea to go straight to a 450 instead of getting a 250 first?
What bikes did you ride previously?
