How classy of Edge to actually address the rumours and not leave fans hanging. Whether he resigns with WWE, goes to AEW, or retires its nice to hear things from the horses mouth. Good stuff hope more wrestlers do this in the future.
See to me this is kind of a low class thing to do, I will also point out Edge did this when there were rumours of his WWE return! Jericho does the same thing as well. The classy approach would be to leave the rumours alone.

Edge has had a long and successful career. He has given a lot to the business, and he is one of the all time greats. As he said, he was forced to retire the last time around. Now he actually has the option to do so on his own terms. It's entirely up to him to decide what he wants to do next.

I immediately took note of his wording a month ago. He was very careful when he said he was choosing what to do next. He didn’t say return to WWE. He said WRESTLING. Very clear choice of words.

Moxley? so he can get bled on?no he doesn't need AEW.
@@sor90 Of course he doesn't "need" AEW, but it's something that if he wanted to do it, there are guys he's never faced that could be on his bucket list. And honestly a real retirement match with him and Christian makes too much sense to not do it.

If I may.., you have given us moments that will transcend time. Two, three hundred years from now you will still be remembered. Share all that you have learned and help to mold the next generation of stars as a teacher and/or coach. Just make sure to allow more time for family. Our children grow far too quickly. My children are 31, 21 and 19 also add two grandchildren who are 11 and 9. I remember bringing each of them home from the hospital, now they are grown (and growing). I miss those days however, together, we are building more memories. Take Care Sir, there are far more memories in the making to come.
Honestly I wish his last match was a triple tag team match Edge/Christian vs Hardy Boys vs Dudley Boys but you know what I can live with him vs Sheamus cause he gave me 25 years of high quality wrestling.

Plus if he does come back to WWE i think it would be awesome to see him transition to another role on-screen, be it as a manager or other on-screen official.

I think you had the perfect send off man. I remember when you first started to blow up, I was too young to appreciate what you brought. Now, in my late 30's I wish there were more like you around. Thanks for all the awesome shows that you put yourself through. To quote another thing I couldn't appreciate as a youth, "thanks for the memories".

There's a lot of "golden" in AEW. Their logo, Golden Vampire, Golden Battle Royal, Golden Elite. For him to sip out of a Golden Girls mug has to mean something.
It's a good thing that if hes really retiring hes going to do it on his and his family's terms instead of listening to the fans telling him to retire when they think the moment is right.
Man, Friday night took me on an emotional roller coaster!! Edge is absolutely right. I don’t know if that could be topped either. From seeing Edge walk up to face one side of the crowd after coming back in the match to them all rising to their feet to his wife’s facial expressions and seeing him with his family… Wow! All of that was REAL.

I don’t know, I think this is edge wanting leverage at the negotiating table with AEW.
He can say he has a deal on the table with WWE for X amount, to get AEW to pay what he’s after…even if there is NO deal from WWE on the table as he’s he’s saying.
Either way, hope he makes the best decision for him and his family.

The only part missing from this is one last title reign, but at this point it might feel too forced to do it. He retired as a champ and never lost the belt, and it would be kind of nice to retire as a champion again and not lose the belt. But only if they do it right. Either way he’s had a great career and deserves all the accolades he gets.
I could see Edge beating Rollins not Reigns as I truly believe Cody (unless he gets injured before) will beat Reigns in Philly.

If it's not cash, it's creative, which makes sense if the world title is completely locked down on one brand, and the stable you spearheaded is taken in another direction. Edge has shown not only that he can go, but that he is still world class. He is frequently the best match on the card, and his promos have never declined. Edge should be given whatever he wants, whether in front of the camera or behind it.
When you wake up and don’t have the desire, energy, or dive to get in the ring, stop.
Now if you still like the spot light, either get on the mic with the announce team or be back stage.
