He lost it due to both time and that he tried to become Curry( ala 2014-15), he's been steady since then with a rise in volume especially evident the post all-star half before he got traded. All this man needs is a working 3 point shot. And defense. Especially defense. Hope to god he goes to the spurs.

Derrick Rose has been on fire this season while being the third option in the triangle. The triangle basically has no use for a point guard and yea sure his assist numbers weren't that high at 4.4, but you have to realize that the highest assists per game for a point guard is 5.5 assists by Gary Payton. Also my man Rose averaged 10.3 points in the paint all season long and that's higher than his MVP season all while shooting his best FG% since 2009-2010, and also a new best in FT%. Get my man on the Spurs, his game is basically the same as Tony Parker's except more athletic. If not Spurs then Bucks or TWolves

Even after all the surgeries he still is the most exciting player to watch in the NBA... His layups are the most aesthetic ones since Jordan and no one has ever came close. He may not be as dominating as he once was but with the right system he could still make it to an All-NBA team.

Derrick Rose is still a very talented basketball player. I've watched him all year. My only criticism is his defense and I feel like him being away from the game so much caused him to lose his understanding of time and situation(especially in late 4th qtr situations). Once he gets defensively motivated and his understanding back of when to attack and when to distribute he can play a key role for playoff team.

I just watched the entire vid and see no resemblance to the 2011 Rose. Almost every drive in the lane involves quick-stepping to protect the left knee both slowing down his drives and keeping him on the floor. The 2011 Rose played in the air by comparison, flew into the lane with abandon and bounced off either leg to continuously get himself room to shoot. That Rose was unstoppable and bears little resemblance to this one. What amazes me is that he still shows signs of being able to compete at starting guard level and appears likely to continue to get better.
He's rising again
All these people who rip on Rose do not watch his highlight videos. Watching Rose in games, he's not much different from his earlier days in Chicago. He may lack that extra gear he once had, but he is still among the top 3 percent fastest players in the league. And he still has the same skills.

Offensively one of his best seasons since his injuries. Defensively he was killed all season on pick and rolls. He was great driving but it ended up costing him another knee surgery. Needs to get his mid range going. Hope he signs with spurs
