I dont think she have it girl vib making the People crazy over her and follow her trends Yujin is so popular in korea and more viral than winter and karina from aespa in korea(they re popular). Yujin is actually insane because she’s so popular in many different fields: in the idol field, in the advertisement field and the variety field as well. She’ll just keep on growing even more popular and will become a household name in Korea…also imagine if she starts branching into acting 👀
I think that she has the most potential in ive , because apart from everything she can also act, considering her acting either way and pre debut projects are all about her acting. She was even popular in SK b4 her appearance in pd 48
My unpopular opinion is that I think people don't really know what being an it girl really means. It's not just about popularity, it's also about being an influence, creating the trends AND the "it" vibe that honestly 99% of people you guys call it girl don't really posses.
Yes! Exactly. For the 5th gen it girl people are saying Ahyeon but she hasn't started any trend. On the other hand, Wonhee's healthy hair, heart hairstyle, visuals, facial expressions, makeup, and lucky girl syndrome intro went viral.
An It Girl is a person that set trends and have the power to influence people and have a large amount of endorsement at least in K-pop like Jennie and wonyoung
Gfriend Individually weren’t good dancers except Sinb(and Yuju but she didn’t have as much chance to show it since she’s main vocal) but the draw for them wasn’t them being dancing gods it was their synchronization and memorization skills and of course the concept. It’s why they were really popular for their blindfolded dances and 2x speed dances.
also they debuted at a time where choreographies weren't even that hard hitting, but even with 4th and 5th gen leading the game right now, gfriend will always be that group when it comes to synchronization.
Gfriend as whole was mesmerazing maybe as individuals did not shine that much but their charm as group is undeniable. Let's put things in perspective, they started the hard dances for girls trend. They singed live and sounded solid, something we do not see to much right now and at least one of the groups mentioned seems unabble to achive. Let's be real here if we want vocals we need easier choreos for the one singing and that was the balance Gfriend managed.
Tbh I have never seen anyone putting GFRIEND's dancing on a pedestal. I've only seen people mentioning their synchronization over and over again. (and well deserved).
As the video said, they usually have one or two special moments on their choreos and their choreos were incredible cared, pleasing to watch and looked interesting.
Maybe not these days but back when they debuted they were known as “the female bts” at a time when bts weren’t as big but were known for their choreography and it was uncommon for ggs to have hard choreography.
among all the potential 4th gen it girls, yujin is most likely the only one who is extremely popular in many different departments (idol, fashion, CFs, variety) unlike most idols who maybe are super popular in a certain field but not in others

@@HaoBinWookSupremacistbut Wonyoung has been pushed. It's all part of media play. Do you not understand marketing. Do you think jennie and Suzy just got their status just by standing. Their is so much that goes into creating an IT girl in kpop and clearly, you know nothing about it. And also, being pushed doesn't mean having the most endorsements etc, it's how much earned media value can be generated from you.
If only wonyoung is promoted the same as yujin...then yujin is nowhere to seen😂... i think liz also find its weird why only yujin thats why she blantanly say to PD Na she wants to be casted lol
I don’t understand people always complaining about the yg sound, the company has had this vibe since the very beginning, you should know what to expect by now. If you don’t like it then just move on with your life, it’s very simple.
I have to agree with the last opinion because even if a song’s achievements don’t determine its quality, it’s understandable to sometimes judge songs by how well they’re doing. If a song is very popular there has to be a reason as to why it’s resonating with people more compared to other songs.
unfortunately sometimes company can rigged this type of things when it comes to view and stream and chart they can pay money for that that's why don't relay so much on views and chart because they can be manipulate.. so in the end of the day a good song don't equal to being high in rank on chart or views etc..
The number of streams make sense if they come from a "not so popular" artist. For example a lot of BTS's songs have over 100, 200 and 500 million streams on Spotify and RUclips, but if some of them were released by another group with a smaller fanbase than BTS's, they wouldn't have that many streams, and this comes from an Army herself. Momoland on the other hand released Bboom Bboom in 2018, and since then the MV has got over 600M views on RUclips. Unlike BTS, Momoland didn't have a large fanbase to get that many views on their songs, which means that the song was interesting and catchy enough for the public to stream it that much.
@@HaoBinWookSupremacist i never said it didn’t slap. (it doesn’t for me) but i can admit that it’s not a bad song. i said it was popular but generic and unoriginal. and it is.
Have to disagree with the yg opinion i understand about the "yg charisma", "yg swag" etc etc but what they are doing right now is using same song structures, same instrumentals, same kshmr samples, slapping same lyrics to every of their artist's song specially theirs newer artists, having a particular style for a company isn't wrong but if all of their group's songs are blending into each other then that leaves people frowning and questioning the laziness of the producers, look at Winner & Ikon they debuted one after another but still had somewhat different sound while maintaining the yg swag but look at their latest groups literally interchangeable songs
Also, I would say that having a "signature style" doesn't mean that every group has to have near exactly the same concept. I would say SM has a signature style, but I wouldn't say Girls Generation, f(x), Red Velvet, aespa are similar in concept. YG can HAVE a signature style, but the way they barely deviate away from it frustrates me to no end. Especially since they can afford to take risks and try new things! They have the kind of rabid fanbase that would stream the heck out of the girls belching for 3 minutes, good lord, JUST TRY SOMETHING NEW.
Domestically wise i think Yujin and Karina are kinda on the same level, Karina maybe is more popular among kpop stans but Yujin is more popular among people that don’t follow kpop since she’s dominating the variety field.

For everyone fighting over Karina, Winter, Wonyoung and Yujin As someone who has followed K-pop since 2014 here’s my take. Also, there's one thing to keep in mind, the growth of international stans and their emerging fandom groups have changed a lot of definitions and the way people went viral. The “It Girls” 15-20 years back vs now have garnered the title differently as generation appropriate but the core features were the same, Being pretty, everyone wanting to be them, everyone talking about them, their actions going viral and having a lot (A LOT) of brand deals. I think personally all 4 of them are very well known. For K-pop stans ( mostly International and even domestic ) Karina and Winter are the most relevant. Whereas for the Korean masses who may not be into K-pop as much, Wonyoung and Yunjin are more of a household name since Iz*one days but even more so after their re-debut in IVE. Though Karina and Winter are well known as well, the claim is mostly based on how the general public is head over heels for Yujin. Now again, just because one name is popular, doesn't mean the other names are irrelevant. Let’s say 80/100 people may recognise Winter, 90/100 people may recognise Karina but somehow Jang Wonyoung and nowadays even Ahn Yujin are such that even >95/100 may recognise them. This is purely in terms of South Korea. A few of my Male SK friends tell me about how their mothers and grandmothers dream of having a Daughter-in-law like Ahn Yujin, which implies that even the elderly are talking about her. It’s like the Jennie vs Irene effect. Ultimately both are very well known but before COVID or 2019, Jennie had a better footing internationally ( although very relevant domestically as well ) whereas Irene was a domestically celebrated person. After Irene’s ‘behaviour scandal’ ( I don’t think standing for your group is bad ), Irene lost that support and the void was replaced by Jennie & Jisoo domestically and the then-emerging Lisa Internationally. Jennie too had her own set of “scandals” ( the lazy dancing and the Kai Dating/G-dragon/Taehyung rumours; personally I don't know why the latter 3 are even considered as scandals) which did make her infamous amongst the K-pop stans but the general public still loved her. Regardless slowly but surely the shift from Jennie to Jisoo could've been observed during the 2020s-2023s but Jennie has something about her, that people are always talking about her. Similar were Lee Hyori, Bae Suzy, BoA, Yoona and IU. Nayeon of Twice is also very well known and some people may like to place her here as well. Some other idols with the ‘It Girl’ potential who weren't able to live up to it, are LSFM Chaewon, ITZY Ryujin and Yeji, NewJeans Minji and Haerin are interchangeable, KEP1ER Xiaoting, NMIXX Sullyoon, Miyeon (G)I-DLE to name a few. However despite being very relevant, they still fall behind the former 4 I've mentioned. It’s a hunger games of popularity, and what makes a person one day can break them the very next day ( Jennie and Irene are good examples of this )
Wonyoung is literally the most popular and impactful 4th gen Female idol. She's a trendsetter who has made multiple outfits sell out in both South Korea and China. They're the one who claimed her that and their actions and admiration towards her show it it's not a debate. You can't "disagree" since they labeled her that and actually act like it.
There’s only 1 it girl tbh and it’s wonyoung but I do see Yujin to be the one who’ll be the most active in the ent industry as a 4th gen idol. She recently won an award and has been very active. I can see her become a soloist in the future and succeed in acting too.
yujin is such an ace already at such a young age: dancing, singing, stage presence, cfs, variety! i could see her being a successful actor or soloist if she wants to go that route, or even hosting her own variety show.
To be an IT girl, you need validation from magazines as well as critics, not only the given title by 14-year old fans. The only two idols in the history that got that title from high-profiled magazines were Lee Hyori and Jennie Kim. No one else. That title started to being implied to everyone since Jennie got it in 2018 as if it is that easy. People haven't paid attention before and that's why it wasn't popularised by Lee Hyori. IT girl is not that big of a deal so I don't understand why stans try so hard to implement it in idol's name - probably because for the past two years brand deals and popularity have become more important than music.
@@embarrassingkid5078 It is that it's not about popularity, likes and public opinion. There are criteria that should be succeeded in order to achieve that title (I don't know since the magazines are the ones that announce it and the critics are the ones that choose the one who succeed those criteria). Suzy's title was given by fans who started making an IT girl for every gen, but officially there is no given such title to a 2nd, 4th and most obvious 5th gen. Imo that is what makes the title special. Because not many people can own it, but for the idols that do not own it, there is nothing less for to admire them, they are unique in their own way.

1. I agree that it is fine for a company to have their own style of music/concept for their groups but I think the main problem people have is the fact that they don’t try to re innovate the style and put a different spin on it. For example, Everglow does a very great job at doing girl crush concepts that is a bit more creative and not the exact same cookie cutter girl crush concepts for each comeback. Some of these YGE groups songs are literal rejects from previous YGE group’s. 2. I don’t think it’s that serious for a group to not have an english speaker. When western artists promote in non English speaking countries such as Korea (like Billie Eillish recently did) nobody expected or demanded that she should have learned Korean beforehand if she wanted to promote and target Korea. It would be very convenient for international fans and the idols themselves if they did speak English but it shouldn’t be mandatory. 3. I agree that overall G Friend dance line and choreography isn’t all that especially compared to todays girl group choreography but BACK THEN when G Friend was popping their choreography was indeed more on the difficult and impressive side for a girl group at the time.
The thing about YG and Sheesh is that YG is testing KPOP Stans and the general public. He's trying to see how lazy he can be and still succeed. Because the recycling of concepts is not just "YG's thing," it's lazy. And so many KPOP Stans fell for it. It's fine to have the same concept, but at least have minor differences, it's a different group after all. Stop just accepted that these different groups can be the exact same because it's YG. Expect more from companies and groups, especially if you're going to support them.
@belaytriks you're right but then corona happened and a lot of companies (sm especially) didn't want to waste idols energy singing live to no audience so they pushed for more choreo. Each gen likes specific things
Not to mention how Yujin has a better reputation than Wonyoung in Korea too. They are both just as popular, but Yujin doesn't get a portion a portion of the hate WY -sadly- receives. She is more widely beloved. A lot of stans also seems to forget how Yujin was the most popular korean trainee at the beginning of produce48, and remained #2 for 5 weeks! Mind you she only had a few CFs under her belt at the time. I feel like Yujin will outlast most girls currently in the industry, I can see her becoming someone like Lee Hyori.
Can’t people in the comment section just accept the fact that if Wonyoung is dominating as an it girl in the idol and endorsement field, then Yujin is dominating in variety? Why do we even need to compare them? They are both slaying in different departments and are both queens 💅🏻
while i do generally agree that streams of any given song will indicate its popularity, i think in kpop that is nullified to a significant degree given how popular and commonplace it is to repeatedly stream a song or album from your favorite group whether you like it or not, because at that point streams just become a measure of popularity of the group as opposed to people actually liking the song
I think there can be more than one it girl. So,i don't get the fanwars. It just bothers me how some stans tend to downplay other idols influence to uphold their favs influence. Like 4th gen has some very influential idols in different fields. Only if everyone could appreciate that.
There's a difference between downplaying other idols influence and stating facts. There's a reason why there can be only ONE it-girl of each gen and we're not about to call everyone an it-girl just to make you (Not just you, Other stans as well.) feel better about your favs. 🤷🏿♂

my unpopular opinion - NJ 2023 was a fluke and will not be reached again. NJ music in 2024 is so bland and getting repetitive, and released just for CF purposes. NJ is now just a means to make money for HYBE, with no real musical attributes, it is just commercialized.
I personally don’t find their new songs bland at all, i actually love how they keep on experimenting with new sounds like they did for Supernatural, but then again, music taste is subjective so… As far as their music being too commercial i can kind of agree because their partnership with cocacola is always so in your face it can get annoying. They might not replicate their previous songs’ success, but i honestly don’t really care as long as i keep on enjoying their music.
Chanelle was such a perfect fit for illit I can never stop thinking abt it 😭 she could’ve been main vocal, Stan attractor & English speaker not to mention she would fit the concept pretty well (this is not an unpopular opinion but the opinion about English speakers made me think about it)
Speaking of not having an English speaker, this channel would be a lot better if it actually had a human talking. It's hard to take someone's opinions seriously when they can't even be bothered to use their own voice to express them.
not everyone has the right equipment or the funds for it to have good sound quality. not using your own voice doesn’t mean they “cant be bothered”. also your comment has nothing to do with kpop idols speaking english.
I agree with opinion three plus a lot of people that complain don't aren't even fans of the yg sound most at times it's just hate cause saying a song sounds like the other is one thing but saying it's trash is another. @@homhom8712how yujin has more relevance than Karina? 😭you hear yourself? @@Kitty_missssand that’s not make her more relevant in any aspect, this statement is so stupid cuz is like say “this model has more shows than kendall” do you think that make them more relevant? NO!, kendall still the most popular just like Karina, Karina ends yujin and wonyoung in just 1 year of being allow to have brand deals and personal instagram
1:30 not really the main thing about being an “it girl” is having an influence in fashion and beauty and yujin doesn’t really have an influence in that
4 and 5 are absolutly stupid. Especially 4th, just imagine you starting training at 17-18 then spend at least 3-4 years to have adequate skills to have a chance debuting. It's all good if you're in a lucky 1% that debutes but what about other 99%? going for part-time jobs while studying for another 3-5 years to make it to college then graduate in your late 20s. Fantastic take. And GG's in this scenario most likely not going beyond initial 5-7 years if they are not extremely popular. P.S. And for 5 - K in K-pop stands for Korean.
I love how you always have opinions and I agree with most of them. Yujin always gave me a lot of "it girl" energy. As for the groups having at least 1 English speaking member, I kinda agree, but there are groups who don't promote outside of Korea , so they don't actually need an English speaker. Other than that, I agree with your opinions.
The thing with YGE is that it's not just the same vibe/concept. It's like copy/paste everything. They even turned their new group member into a Lisa lookalike. And don't get me started on the "We don't do comebacks often because we prefer quality over quantity" .. YGE has contributed nothing to K-Pop factually , just hyped up groups for kids. Zero artistic contribution to the scene (apart from AKMU who outside Korea are practically unknown) , zero efforts to promote K-Pop as a whole or individual artists both domestically or internationally besides their own (often putting their hand at defaming other groups/artists to uplift their own ) and this is the reason , to me , "Gods DDU DU DDU DU" was a chefs kiss YGE diss masked as a "tribute". Also it's obvious YGE is just a laundromat for Chinese and Korean "Businessmen" for questionable earnings. Unless you are 12 or mentally chalenged everything mentioned above is as clear as a summer sky... Gfriend is a prime example of coordination and proffesionalism. In their Gen they had no rival and even now can be considered in the top GG's for dancing/choreo. SinB is still one of the top dancers active in the industry so bringing forth discussions that were made early-mid 4th Gen about GG dance prowess is simply stupid. We all know 4th Gen stepped the game up when it comes to choreo , dancing ability and dancing performance. LOONA and Itzy almost instantly made it in the conversation for Top GGs when it comes to dancing. I really don't get where you saw people in 2024 saying Gfriend is the absolute Top... The problem with your kids "IT Girls" is that it's mostly visuals/popularity. Same thing happened when the 10yo flooded K-Pop back in Corona days and decided Jennie was the IT girl for 3rd Gen. Lee Hyori and Suzy should be standing at a corner laughing with todays criteria and standards... Pretty but sub par artistically compared to their peers getting praise and hype is plain stupid.. As far as views and streams goes. It has been recorded and proven that streams and views can be bought and manipulated , it has also shown that it's the best marketing strategy to lure GP and casuals into a song/M/V by forcefeeding it to you through the algorythm via recomendations or autoplay. Certain fanbases set up stream farms (they were too dumb to post it on the internet to flex how stupid they are) and JYPE himself exposed the Korean streaming services for manipulation of streams and being asked by people why doesn't he buy streams for his groups (after that JYPE groups get maybe half or less of the wins they should've gotten in weekly shows because they tank in streaming scores , but it's just a coincidence right..?) You post Corona kid fans need a history lesson on K-Pop because you flood the internet with videos talking nonsense just because you can. These were MY unpopular opinions. Deal with them and if you are brave enough I'll gladly debate you on the points made but make sure you bring receipts 🙂
As for YG: Saying they turned Chiquita into a Lisa lookalike just cause she dyed her hair blonde is nonsensical. I also never claimed yg is an example of a good company and i never even mentioned anything about their idols’ artistry and creative freedom, i just wanted to point out how they have a specific vibe and not everyone is gonna enjoy that, so in that case you should just move on if it doesn’t resonate with you. As for it girls: Being an it girl has never been about talent and more so with the impact you have in a certain field, for example Wonyoung (who by the way IS talented) is considered an it girl because what she wears gets sold out, her silly little dances she makes just for fun go viral among fans and idols, the things she says become popular phrases, her name alone is recognized by everyone, her face is all over Korea and whatever brand she’s involved in grows exponentially. That’s what past it girls did and that’s what Wonyoung is doing now. Of course going viral on twitter doesn’t make you an it girl. As for streaming: I’m well aware of how streams can be inflated and things like that but what you should focus on is korean charts which are general public driven and any sort of mass streaming might move a song up for a while but it will instantly freefall immediately after. Korean charts are actually extremely hard to manipulate because they are based on hourly listeners, not to mention it’s easy seeing if a song’s performance on the charts actually reflects its real popularity and if something is popular people will naturally be more inclined to check it out, that’s how it works. Last but not least, i’ve been into kpop since 2017 and i’m no “post corona kid” as you like to call them.
YG is not part of the Big 3 for no reason. Their a artists before like Bigbang, 2ne1, Psy, and now Blackpink had very significant contribution to spreading Kpop. The first kpop song to top a global music chart, first kpop album to break in US billboard 200, first kpop group to win MTV award, first kpop girl group to do a world tour etc.. all from YG. And as OP has pointed out, YG has their own branding when it comes to their artists, hence, the YG DNA. However, if you explore other artists and releases from the company, you would find diverse sound too like AKMU and Winner. Lastly, its just wrong to accuse the company of questionable earnings without factual evidence. Like seriously, YGE is ISO certified.
I honestly still dont quite grab the accurate meaning of "IT Girl". If we're talking about fashion or brand deals on beauty products in SK, perhaps WY holds the title. She is praised by public in SK of her beauty. But then i read somewhere saying that Yujin holds the most advertisement deals in SK in 4th gen, even surpass WY in that sense. Talking about Karina in the idol world, she seems to hold this title at the moment. She is even bigger than Aespa at times, trending for even small reasons. Ppl in SK really like her personality. Even ppl who are not in idol world-sports person, actors/actresses, tv hosts, variety tv hosts talk a lot about her. I didnt see these ppl talk that much about WY or Yujin. As for the brand deals, she is starting to follow suit those two. Like she's been endorsed by Krush Beer who normally only endorsed very popular celebrity in SK. She is really huge nowdays. Anyway, all of them have their own charms and are really pretty.
Saying yg has a sound and you shouldn't complain is stupid when you take into account that they are getting paid to make music and the sound is dated even in 2014 let alone now people are asking them to do they're job correctly imagine telling doctors to treat patients properly instead of using 1000 years old practice and someone says 'if it works for them' like that's not what you're getting paid for but it's also the fans that put looks and "vibes" above actual artistry so they can get away with not even mediocrity but absolute garbage
As for artistry i agree that yg should give their artists more freedom, but as far as the concept and the music is concerned, complaining is pointless at this point. Yes they are getting paid to make music, just like actors are payed to act in movies, but if you don’t like a certain movie genre it doesn’t make sense to keep on watching those kinda movies just to complain, same thing with yg. They’re nowhere near a good company but it would be so easy to just go and listen to something you like instead of yg artists.
@@soft4taeng yeah but it is like seeing the thing you hate become popular i don't listen to them or spend any money but in a year i kow people are going to talk about them in a 'top 3' convo and be serious about it and win soty with their music even tho they won't improve maybe it's the hater in me but nothing pisses me of more than people getting things they don't deserve At the end of the day its what you said as long as there is someone listening to them why would they change
Tbf tho, yes talent looks charisma yujin has it but at the same time she doesnt have that one spark of something that makes her iconic. Yujin can dance, so is other girls, yujin is funny, like other girls as well. Shes appears in cf, like every kpop girlies but if someone asked me (someone who listen to kpop casually) what is the iconic thing yujin has ever done.... I will have a hard time naming one since all i can remember is her burchering the smoke dance 😭😭
I disagree on the first one bc I dont hear abt yujin a lot fr and i think second after wony is karina shes more popular and infuential than yujin is tbh.
tbh after wonyoung, karina deserves "it girl" title more (i said this as a yujin bias) she is super famous and loved in both korea and international. but i love this video because most of international kpop stans don't know that AnYujin's name is big in Korea 💙
It is difficult for koreans to speak English because English is totally different language system from korean. And it is insanely difficult for koreans to understand English culture. When i started to learn English, i was shocked that there is no honorific in English and how can i show my respect to seniors. In English you call your teacher, parents, seniors and dog the same word ''you'. Honestly i thought it was very rude language. So speaking English fluently has same meaning for koreans to be adapted to a totally different culture. I cannot bow when i speak English and it makes me really awkward. Are you going to still love your kpop idols when they lose shyness, being introvert, being submissive to seniors and companies and they turn into be strong, bold, independent, much confident just like western celebrities? So why you force kpop artists to speak the Anglo-Saxon language while they are not Anglo-Saxon. The AI will be great help for translation and interpretation.
My two cents. Itzy, NMIXX and now Babymonster are the only actual groups super mega poplular that sing and dance hard since day one. I am sure there are more but let's put things on place you can not compare a group that is not active anymore to actual standards, they need to be compared to their peers in their right time frame. Gfriend started the trend of harder dances for girls. They excelled in their synchronization, spacial awareness and memory skills (something you can still notice in Viviz shorts with the rest of Gfriend) while singing live at least half of the time. It took IVE like two years to more or less reach the level to actually sing in a year ends show; aespa hardly sing live even if they can; nmixx is an exception; do I need to point Coachella?, ITZY strugles from time to time with the singing portion and Lia is hated for not being such a good dancer while being their vocal backbone, Hybe gg have 2 minutes wispered songs and most of the time is playback. Then we have the 4 references: Twice has the same kind of femenine choreographies as Gfriend but they are more soft, Red Velvet choreos have no point of comparison and BP that is more swag that anything they are the references, maybe ITZY but not nmixx and even the new group of SuMu that were buildt on the legacy Gfriend and the 3rd gen showed that could be attained.
Nah the minor one is wack. Because Minor's still have to train before they debut. You can say a 16 year old trainee has it worse than a 16 year old Idol (which I totally disagree with) but the 16 year old idol has probably been training for longer. The average training time for an idol is 2-3 years so if they don't debut until 18 that means they don't start training until 15 as opposed to 14 year old debuting after training since they were 11. So no, it's better for minors to be trainee's especially when you remember that most companies have part time training where the trainee's in question only train on weekends, we know this because idols have talked about doing this for their first year or two of training before moving to a full time model, this is especially common with young idols and when you view it like this it is not very different from most other extracurricular activities and is very different to working a full time job and being pushed into the public eye for hate.
I think that the problem with babymonster is not having the same concept or vibe as other yg groups since like you said yg is known for having their own style but is that the songs are just straight up bad sorry bad and sound like rejects so it’s a bad version of something already done but the members are so talented that they make it sound good but the songs are still bad they really need to give them good songs
I personally quite enjoy babymonster songs (even if they’re not my favorites) but i absolutely agree that these songs don’t let the members showcase all their talents. It’s not a problem of concept/sound/vibe, it’s just a problem with the songs themselves. If you have a group with crazy vocals like them, use them properly…
@@soft4taeng Their album is a mixed of hiphop, ballad, and R&B so it has definitely showcased ther versatility and vocals. Dream specially showcased well the different colours of the girls vocals. But one thing they are yet to show is Rora's full vocal prowess. Besides, they're still starting so they still have a lot to show. My favorite songs in the album are Dream and Stuck in the Middle. I actually like Batter Up's chorus and rap part but the verse and bridge are nahhh. And its opposite with Sheesh, love the verses and bridge, hate the chorus😅. But the girl's charisma and performance on stage is very delightful to watch on stage😊
Imo!! Not saying ur wrong or that my opinions are better, i promise!! I just want to share my views:) 1. THANK YOU i actually agree with this. Like they say "oh but ___ is popular internationally" or "oh but ___ is more talented" like no.. Yujin is so it girl material 2. i kind of agree with this.. i remember eatching GFriend mvs and being confused why peoppe found these dances so hard (I'm a professional dancer) 3. I mean, I'm split with this. I'm still kind of upset about 2ne1 disbanding due to YG wanting a "prettier" version, but i respect your opinion! 4. I mean, i think 16 year olds would be okay to be auditionees, atleast 17 to be trainees. 5. I'm sorry bae... No... K-pop is Korean pop, and alot of Koreans priotitize 'purity'. 6. I mean yeah, sometimes. + i have an extra opinion to share. I'm not going to name specific idols, but it makes me kinda mad when fans try SO hard to victimize their idols? Like, i understand that hate can be bad, and i understand wanting to spread awareness and stuff, and i fully support. But creating fake rumors about very dangerous situations or things that never happened is ott. (Imo)

isn't yujin more popular then wonyoung in SK? Wonyoung is more it girl on a global sense. Wonyoung my bias but i never thought her and yujin had a big gap between them.
Obviously internationally wise Wony is more popular, as far as Korea i still think their popularity gap is not that big, because Yujin has branched out in the variety field and that boosted her popularity immensely. Overall, Wony is definitely the overall it girl but Yujin still has the general public in a chokehold as well.
I have so many friends from Korea and Karina is insanely popular in Korea I don’t even need to talk about Internationally Yujin can’t be in her level lol

Honestly yes and she got her title as the second one for a reason but that reason not mostly base of Korea. She is called it girl more cus of overseas. Which tend to happen cus in kpop we see many cases of it girls that one of them mostly popular in Korea and the other one is more popular over seas. So Korea ONLY it should be yujin
AGREE WITH GFRIEND SO MUCH LIKE JUST BECAUSE THE CHOREO IS HARD DOESNT MEAN THAT THEY CAN DANCE SO WELL AND THEIR CHOREOS ARENT THAT HARD IMO COMPARED TO BG'S
But.... the point isnt that gfriend's choreo's are harder than boy groups'??? Gfriend helped start the trend of difficult and synchronized choreos in girl groups when other groups like twice, blackpink, mamamoo had supposed "easy choreos" (i have nothing against them, i love them but unfortunately there were a few who criticized them for no reason) They are not better than groups now, but groups like loona, izone, itzy, nmixx; to name a few, wouldnt have existed if gfriend didnt show the public that girls CAN have difficult choreographies, and that they CAN be in sync. They were the reason challenges like 2x dance, rollercoaster dance (standing all behind each other in a line and dancing), blindfold dance were created. I don't think i have ever seen anyone claim gfriend is better than girl groups now? Especially not individually. Unfortunately gfriend isnt very relevant now, because of their disbandment in 2021. But you can still see the influence of their synchronization in viviz performances, they are still very synchronized
@@zephyrlivia gfriend isnt all that compared to girl groups now, but they are the reason said girl groups exist, and are still the first girl group to be extremely synchronized. There. Both Karina and winter are one of the most popular 4th gen idols, these people just don’t mention them bc they don’t like aespa and get mad when aespa archive something bigger than their favs
I think personally all 3 of them are very well known. For K-pop stans ( mostly International and even domestic ) Karina and Winter are the most relevant. Whereas for the Korean masses who may not be into K-pop as much, Wonyoung and Yunjin are more of a household name since Iz*one days but even more so after their re-debut in IVE. Karina and Winter are well known as well but it's mostly based on how the general public is Head over heels for Yujin. Now again just because one name is popular doesn't mean the other names are irrelevant. Let’s say 80/100 people may recognise Winter, 90/100 people may recognise Karina but somehow Jang Wonyoung and nowadays even Ahn Yujin are such that even >95/100 may recognise them. This is purely in terms of South Korea. A few of my Male SK friends tell me about how their mothers and grandmothers dream to have a Daughter In Law like Ahn Yujin, etc. It’s like Jennie vs Irene effect. Ultimately both are very well known but before COVID or 2019s Jennie had a better footing internationally ( although very relevant domestically as well ) whereas Irene was domestically celebrated person. After Irene’s ‘behaviour scandal’ ( I don’t think standing for your group is bad ) Irene lost that support and the void was replaced by Jennie Jisoo domestically and the then emerging Lisa Internationally
Lmao yet yujin has more endorsement deals than Karina , y'all like underestimating yujins popularity all because she's from a small company , Karina may be more popular internationally but in Korea yujin is way popular , she's known as a variety queen of the 4th gen not even Karina can compete with that

This, that one Idol Room segment where they danced single file is perfect evidence - the synch with timing and angles as impressive af
also they debuted at a time where choreographies weren't even that hard hitting, but even with 4th and 5th gen leading the game right now, gfriend will always be that group when it comes to synchronization.
Their synchronization was the thing people praised the most. Also Yerin is a good dancer too.

@diamond-fp3dg how is yujin pushed when the show producers are the ones who personally want her in their show?
I don’t understand people always complaining about the yg sound, the company has had this vibe since the very beginning, you should know what to expect by now.
If you don’t like it then just move on with your life, it’s very simple.
I have to agree with the last opinion because even if a song’s achievements don’t determine its quality, it’s understandable to sometimes judge songs by how well they’re doing. If a song is very popular there has to be a reason as to why it’s resonating with people more compared to other songs.
unfortunately sometimes company can rigged this type of things when it comes to view and stream and chart they can pay money for that
that's why don't relay so much on views and chart because they can be manipulate.. so in the end of the day a good song don't equal to being high in rank on chart or views etc..
i mean magnetic is popular and it’s the most generic mediocre shit ever lol
@@sicatsz Magnetic slaps, what are you talking about?
Heavy on opinion 1! Nobody can come for wony's it girl status because they can't even get close to yujin (the only exception maybe being karina)

For everyone fighting over Karina, Winter, Wonyoung and Yujin
As someone who has followed K-pop since 2014 here’s my take.
Wonyoung's face is absolutely everywhere in streets and even Sokors themselves call her "It girl" (you can see it from Kmedia and Koreans tiktoks themselves). Wony has the most brand deals among any 4th gen idol and goes viral for absolutely anything she does. While Karina and Winter are only relevant during Aespa's comebacks despite having promotions, etc it makes NO NOISE at all. While whatever Wonyoung does, it goes viral and is very likely to start a trend in South Korea (and China) like for example her little dance, Inisfree add, the concert turn, etc. She also keeps topping popularity charts and polls.
It's not even debatable anymore. Wonyoung is THE 4th gen It girl because that's a title that's chosen by Koreans themselves.
Ofc yujin is ✨it girl ✨
To be an IT girl, you need validation from magazines as well as critics, not only the given title by 14-year old fans. The only two idols in the history that got that title from high-profiled magazines were Lee Hyori and Jennie Kim. No one else. That title started to being implied to everyone since Jennie got it in 2018 as if it is that easy. People haven't paid attention before and that's why it wasn't popularised by Lee Hyori. IT girl is not that big of a deal so I don't understand why stans try so hard to implement it in idol's name - probably because for the past two years brand deals and popularity have become more important than music.
but what about the likes of Suzy or Yoona? they were the most popular of 2nd gen. Genuinely curious btw

@@akuhappy3246 Says who?
I love that yg has a specific vibe or concept for their group , its so special
02:24 I don't think its fair to compare to 4th gen. 4th gen elevated dance choreos to a new level. Gfriend was on top of choreos for 3rd gen
And they used to sing a lot more... 😊
I agree and she’ll last the longest in her generation because she’s so talented. She’s got that soloist and actress vibe.
Aaah finally, someone with great quality of brain cell. U got that right
There's a difference between downplaying other idols influence and stating facts.

I personally don’t find their new songs bland at all, i actually love how they keep on experimenting with new sounds like they did for Supernatural, but then again, music taste is subjective so…
As far as their music being too commercial i can kind of agree because their partnership with cocacola is always so in your face it can get annoying.
They might not replicate their previous songs’ success, but i honestly don’t really care as long as i keep on enjoying their music.
Chanelle was such a perfect fit for illit I can never stop thinking abt it 😭 she could’ve been main vocal, Stan attractor & English speaker not to mention she would fit the concept pretty well (this is not an unpopular opinion but the opinion about English speakers made me think about it)
Her stans would have ruined the fandom though
Certain fanbases set up stream farms (they were too dumb to post it on the internet to flex how stupid they are) and JYPE himself exposed the Korean streaming services for manipulation of streams and being asked by people why doesn't he buy streams for his groups (after that JYPE groups get maybe half or less of the wins they should've gotten in weekly shows because they tank in streaming scores , but it's just a coincidence right..?)
You post Corona kid fans need a history lesson on K-Pop because you flood the internet with videos talking nonsense just because you can.
These were MY unpopular opinions. Deal with them and if you are brave enough I'll gladly debate you on the points made but make sure you bring receipts 🙂
As for YG:
Saying they turned Chiquita into a Lisa lookalike just cause she dyed her hair blonde is nonsensical.
I also never claimed yg is an example of a good company and i never even mentioned anything about their idols’ artistry and creative freedom, i just wanted to point out how they have a specific vibe and not everyone is gonna enjoy that, so in that case you should just move on if it doesn’t resonate with you.
As for it girls:
Being an it girl has never been about talent and more so with the impact you have in a certain field, for example Wonyoung (who by the way IS talented) is considered an it girl because what she wears gets sold out, her silly little dances she makes just for fun go viral among fans and idols, the things she says become popular phrases, her name alone is recognized by everyone, her face is all over Korea and whatever brand she’s involved in grows exponentially. That’s what past it girls did and that’s what Wonyoung is doing now. Of course going viral on twitter doesn’t make you an it girl.
As for streaming:
I’m well aware of how streams can be inflated and things like that but what you should focus on is korean charts which are general public driven and any sort of mass streaming might move a song up for a while but it will instantly freefall immediately after.
Anyway, all of them have their own charms and are really pretty.
totally agree with opinion number 3
I AGREE WITH THE 5TH ONE
@@soft4taeng yeah but it is like seeing the thing you hate become popular i don't listen to them or spend any money but in a year i kow people are going to talk about them in a 'top 3' convo and be serious about it and win soty with their music even tho they won't improve maybe it's the hater in me but nothing pisses me of more than people getting things they don't deserve

Then we have the 4 references: Twice has the same kind of femenine choreographies as Gfriend but they are more soft, Red Velvet choreos have no point of comparison and BP that is more swag that anything they are the references, maybe ITZY but not nmixx and even the new group of SuMu that were buildt on the legacy Gfriend and the 3rd gen showed that could be attained.
for the first one, i think karina is def more popular then yujin, so technically, she could be third

JYP said she’s the embodiment of what it means to be a koop star and he hasn’t met anyone who fits the description as much as she does and he’s worked in the industry for YEARS and mind u wonyoung was 18/19 at the time when she worked with him! wonyoung literally goes viral for BREATHING like seriously don’t even joke… she’s extremely hardworking, talented, and passionate about her work and her love for her fans is something you can’t fake. WONYOUNG IS THE ONE AND THE ONLY 4th GEN IT GIRL💗
@@Cupidador
Wonyoung is still hard worker and talented songwriter. She speak up about hyperscrutization toward female idols in kpop industry and win lawsuit against RUclipsr sojang
Jennie is still called bad main rapper but still it girl
Yujin is by far the ace. Variety and awards her furure is either acting composer or brand owner. Her lack of plastic surgery only 2 things eys and a small chin surgery. Wonyoung wont hold up as well its just reality. I love all of ive but yujin is actually rivaling the greatest of all time in terms of how great someone can be at performing.
what does plastic surgery have to with being an it girl or ace? also wonyoung doing just fine even without excessive promotion.
@@buddies6389 girls that have a larger amount of surgery tend to go through look phases where they don't really look like they used to even in their twenties. I'm not saying for a fact Wonyoung is going to look drastically different in ten years I'm just saying Yujin won't. So for marketing it's easy to market her future. Yujins learning speed and live singing talent, choreo master amazing facial expression and acting in her performances. currently Yujin then everyone else. She would be the s tier. Yujin has also been growing at elite pace since joining Ive including this last comeback really working on live singing and voice strength.
@@Noignorance21 okay but again what does plastic surgery have to do with being an it girl? all of the things you listed such as learning speed and live singing talent are all things wonyoung already has. yet those are still not what make an it girl. hence why even if you think yujin is better at something than wonyoung, wonyoung is still the it girl.
@@buddies6389 oh lol well I mean clearly Yujin is not ahead of everyone it's an argument. So I'm making one for her to be the it girl. Yujin has more natural beauty so I think in time the surgeries will catch up to wonny. Wonny is not the it girl imo. If I did have to pick one it would be Yujin because she literally just won the popularity award in Korea.
@@Noignorance21 what makes an it girl to you? and for the third time, what does plastic surgery have to do with being an it girl? it just sounds like you’re trying to insult her in a way where you can then act confused if people say it sounds like you’re trying to insult her.
