I hate how America centered this world is, we have all been brainwashed into thinking that making it in America is the ultimate form of success, that the ‘American Dream’ is the only dream. The imperialism is real and the SOFT power America has over the whole wide world is crazy. NO, a kpop group doesn’t need a Grammy to be succesful, a Daesang will do, NO, 1 million albums sold in America are not more than 1 million albums sold in Korea, NO, a nr. 1 in America is not more valid than a nr. 1 in Korea, NO, a stadium show is not more impressive in America than it is in Korea and SO ON. IMO all success is valid regardless of where you achieve it, BUT, achieving success in your home country when talking about kpop comes with more BENEFITS such as recognition with the general public which will allow you to expand your career beyond just kpop. That’s the difference.
Exactly! I once saw an incredulous user over the fact of why don't kpop invest all of their resources on us, and I'm like: "girl, isn't it obvious?" Because like, it's their country, their people, it's where they work, it's where most of their concerts, events, shows and activity will occur and more, so it's their right to invest in their own home. And so true, being popular in their own country and being loved by their own people is definitely better than to give a leap of faith for the international recognition that you might never even have in the first place. That's why I think that it's a lot more worthy for companies to invest in their domestic fanbase or at least an Asian one instead of an international one. I mean, there's a reason as to why boy groups last more than girl groups do, because they focus on their fanbase, especially the domestic one instead of trying to get the general public's attention. Secondly, although kpop is really popular (in a niche way) in the west, America is nowhere near to give Kpop the profit that the Korean and Japanese fanbase do *alone* for example. That's why I don't get the recent trend of only doing songs with English right now, even if it is the most spoken language in the world. If I'm being honest, I would say that it's a pretty bootlick situation because the Pop industry had never cared to include Asians in it so why is kpop trying to be more like it when that is the perfect chance to be popular with "asian-ish" music or at least with their unique "kpoppy" elements in their songs? Not that there is anything wrong with them singing in English but for me, the English lyrics should *not* overlap the Korean ones. Like 90% English lyrics % 40 Korean lyrics. Either you do an English version or a song in English because it doesn't really make sense like that.
As much as I 100% agree, the reason why kpop groups push so much to break through in the US is not because of what you’re saying, but simply because the us music market is the biggest in the world. Sometimes it’s not that deep.
@@pennymikk It’s the biggest market in the world but that doesn’t mean it’s open to everyone. Even BTS’s success in America by american standards is not very high, so what makes these other groups think that country is gonna open their door to them if they didn’t fully open their doors on BTS & Blackpink?
Young Posse’s debut honestly broke my heart. The song is so blatantly an innuendo and the lyrics are something those girls should not have to go out and perform. I know someone will say that this is fake outrage and I respectfully say that it’s anything but fake. I’m on the older side of the k-pop fanbase (I’m in my 30’s) and while I understand debuting minors if everyone involved knows and consents to what is involved, songs like these should not even be suggested for groups of mostly minors. Kep1er’s center debate has been exhausting. Xiaoting has the stage presence to hold the attention that a center should and that’s really the end of the discussion regardless of who the actual center is. With how little time the girls have left on their contract, it makes me so mad to see the fandom fight like this over things that are ultimately petty. The fandom has been and continues to act like literal toddlers and it’s just depressing. I love Kep1er to the moon and back but distancing myself from the fandom itself has been the best decision I’ve made in that regard. Great video!
Young posse's debut really let me down because i actually liked the song itself, just like i liked cookie, but the lyrics ruin everything. I get it that it's impossible to prevent minors to debut as a whole, but giving them age appropriate lyrics is literally the bare minimum...
I mean if u have a problem 4 members wrote the lyrics and I only saw like 2 lines that could be taken bad so idk if if was meant literally or a sexual joke who knows
@@brennathecatlover4360Even if the older members wrote the lyrics it still doesnt make it right. Also they weren’t the only ones who wrote the lyrics there were some adults who helped write the lyrics too. Also have you actually read all the lyrics?? Like not just the few lyrics in English but like everything completely translated? Because it isn’t just one or two lines that are suggestive the whole song is suggestive pretty much all the lyrics are inappropriate.
Heavy on opinion 4!! I haven’t seen anybody talking about this which is surprising considering how inappropriate this whole song is. Of course cookie was more talked about because nj are a big 4 group but i was hoping for more people to talk about young posse as well. This song is just weird
I’ve seen the same people hating on Cookie hyping this song. It seems like a double standard. People were quicker to get on to NewJeans, but for Young Posse, their song was “nostalgic” and “campy”. I feel like Macaroni and Cheese’s lyrics reminded me of Blackpink’s ice cream in a bad way.
About opinion 3: this reminds me of Minnie and Yuqi of Idle, even though Yuqi has a better technique than Minnie she’s just a sub/lead vocalist while Minnie is a main vocalist. Why? Because Minnie’s high notes sound good to most people while Yuqi has a deeper voice.
It also explains why in ITZY despite Lia being the Main and strongest Vocalist (though I feel like her and Yeji are interchangeable atp), Yeji is given most of the high belts in their discography, and lately Chaeryeong has been taking a few of them to.
@@deyoncew3311 she kinda would, yeji and chaer sound like their vocal chords are about to rip apart when they get up into the 5th octave, especially yeji
@soyeonvsveggies I mean compare the Cheshire choruses. None of them sound particularly better or worse than the other. Lia kinda gets a "witchy" tone when she enters the 5th octave and just overall doesn't carry much weight up there which is why she doesn't sound as "powerful" (loud) as Yeji.
I’m convinced DSP tried to create their own Cookie controversy with Young Posse. Everything about it seems like they tried to recreate the atention New Jeans got from the Cookie controversy. And they think people are going to defend them because the members wrote it.
@@brennathecatlover4360 oh yeah i forgot about that. but, they saw this opportunity for them to get the group some kind of attention. they could have easily made it a solo song for that member or just don’t let them debut with it.
they already created the controversy by giving them their group name. Idc if it has any other meaning full meaning, the pronounciation itself makes you question what they were thinking
Y'all call me crazy but I think Macaroni Cheese is about Macaroni Cheese. Like have you seen their most recent albums and stuff? Given the context I don't rlly think it's meant to be sexual..
People undermine Korean charts without realizing most of the money that comes to groups is from Korea and Japan, album sales and advertisement revenue come by dominating these two markets. It is good that the group has international popularity, but it should not come at the expense of ignoring the two main K-pop markets.
International fans that think that international popularity is more important will never not make me laugh. It's not for no reason that companies Always listen to knetzs over i-fans
True, I also think it can somehow connect with the "minors stop debuting" thing. Because let's be honest, if k-netz were more against the idea, the cases of minors debuting in kpop would definitely lessen. I-netz doesn't have the same position and power to influence an industry that is on the other side of the world. And also, because it's common to Koreans (like in jpop for example), it's very hard that it will ever stop happening. Of course, it's not possible to make it stop altogether because it's basically a straight up violation of human rights in a way, but it would be better to have one or two minors in a group than for everyone to be. Finally, minors in kpop are still not a black and white discussion at all so it's a pretty conflicting situation.
@@brennathecatlover4360It depends, not everyone will but the majority, yes, they will. The thing is that, as much as people bring up the loona boycott that had been successful to prove a point that taking action, do indeed, influence in something, it's not that simple. Orbits had plenty of reasons to boycott BBC, giving the mistreatment and other issues. Not everyone would have that same mentality with something so seemingly innocent and celebratory as a debut, even if it's a minor. Another reason that made the Loona's boycott be so effective was because they barely had a domestic fanbase, just the international one so every profit that was going to BBC was because of the international fans. This wouldn't work so much with minors because most of the groups that have minors in it also have pretty solid or even big domestic fanbases so even if all of the international fanbase decided to boycott them, it wouldn't really do much.
yeah, but when there's issues like racism, they don't address it and then proceed to run to North America/Europe to promote. You can't want to profit off of an industry/market if you don't even try to cater to them or you know....respect them. -Just a thought. I've seen a LOT of cultural disrespect/mocking of other cultures. Yet those same people go international to start touring. Weird. Stay in korea and promote there if you're doing that..
Exactly 😂. I don't know what else they want for her. It's not like she's being treated like bahiyyih that's basically the backup dancer and sound effects of kep1er
In response to opinion 3. I agree mostly. However, as a singer, I can say with confidence that thr better you become at singing, the easier high notes become, and their tonal quality increases as well. It is impossible to be a "good" vocalist without being able to do "good" high notes because to be good, you need to have development in all your registers, which includes belting.
I'm not a singer or a vocal coach And i agree with you however i think that the case of opinion 3 is apply mostly when the main vocalist have a higher and powerful voice than the stronger vocalist of the group (like everglow or dreamcacher) ant it's mostly in weak groups vocal wise But there are groups like BTS or itzy where the main vocalist is the stronger vocalist but isn't mostly the on charge of the high notes
@@deyoncew3311 In bts the 4 vocal line does high note but it's mostly handled by Jimin. Jungkook tended to do mostly adlibs and runs and avoid high notes. But now he tend to sing more boldy with more power But for the vocal line : Jungkook and V are the more decent. Jimin have the most unhealthy technique but recently said to focus on technique. Jin is weak but have less issue than Jimin. Here a compilation of some high notes of the vocal line : ruclips.net/video/tHAkhQVTK6k/видео.htmlsi=D99T8b9-tRA3N22z
@@deyoncew3311 BTS weaknest is vocal Otherwise, they have strong rap line, strong dance line, strong stage presence and members who are good producers They were basicaly a rap/dance oriented group, even Jungkook used to rap, the vocal parts was just hooks and repetetive parts no true vocal engagement. But since 2015/2016 they began to do more mainstream music, their music is more vocal orientated now, their have high note but more on the emotion and stylistic than the real powerhouse vocal But both Jungkook and Jimin take lessons and seem to focus on technique The problem is Hybe dont put effort on vocal coachs rather than being strict to build a strong vocal technique rather they let their trainee/idol do what they want, at their debut Jungkook took just a few lessons focusing on rap and dance, Jimin didn't train with a coach, he just learn by himself and by imitating his groupmates. If y'all don't want to see minors anymore, simply STOP supporting them. If you can't don't complain. Cuz companies WILL NEVER give them normal songs. Stop wasting y'all's time and make up y'alls mind
Ppl say ive cheated there win when literally there the most popular and most loved 4th gen group and everyone love them like it make no sense there’s loved and have big fandom that’s why they win like kpop Stan can’t even thing anymore. This is my opinion
The company may choose someone who can sing a high note as a main vocalist but that doesn't mean the high note actually sounds good. Kpop isn't about music anymore (if it ever was) and hyping up bad vocalists just because they can hit a high note is going to end up hurting the industry and oftentimes the vocalists themselves because they force their voices to a range they aren't comfortable with. I don't care how much I like a group, if they start to sound like shit I'm not going to listen to them anymore.
But think about it. Vocalist in this gen no matter how great are pointless. Because at the end of the day, their voice will be reduce to chipmunk in tiktok. Jk, on a sec thought, I'm with you. I used to listen to BTS but after discovering of Exo and Super Junior, yeah, I'm not gonna listen to that ass vocal anymore.
For the main vocalist it depends of the agency some like Hybe or JYP will give the main vocalist the main vocalist to stronger vocalist technique wise but but give the high note to the member with the highest voice (ex : BTS and Itzy, main vocalist are Jungkook and Lia but Jimin and Yeji a in charge of the high notes) Other like SM where the main vocalist is the stronger and sing high notes along the lead vocalist (and sometime the others vocalists if they can) But some group like Everglow or DC follow the logic that the main vocal is the one who have the highest voice.
Siyeon’s voice also fits Dreamcatcher’s rock concept more then Yoohyeon. Yoohyeon suits pop more then rock. While Siyeon has the most rock like voice. Also Siyeon has good technique, it is just she has more rock influence.
I genuinely do not care about centers but chaehyun IS actually the official center in kep1er. they emphasized it more during debut but there are several contents where they refer to her as the center
How come do you manage to spill facts so hard everytime ? YOU SPILLED 💅✨ I LOVE YOUR OPINIONS SOO MUCH THE 8TH ONE!! LOUDER!!!! The Fact that in the middle of this video i was literally about to share my opinion about that writing credits one but you read my mind 😭✨ The 8th opinion>>>>
i disagree with the r u next opinion, the whole show was promoted as "building OUR girl group" meanwhile in the finale the judges chose 4/6 members, obviously people are mad as a casual watcher I was too, because my votes didn't matter
Yeah i mean the show should have been more transparent from the beginning, there's no excuse. They should have stated how the voting would work out from the start and they didn't which is why so many people were rightfully disappointed. With that being said i like the idea of both the public and the judges choosing who debuts, but r u next handled the whole thing terribly.
Plus in the end the most talented contestants weren't even chosen. What the people wanted was talented contestants, and yet the most talented singer on the show was paid dust due to being "too old."
@@diveintoskz thats to be expected cause they need to secure their investment returns and age is an obvious indicator within their parameter for the decision making.
*Yes,I agree there are so many great 4th gen vocalists that have great vocal technique and are not only just from Big 4 Companies/and or from non-big 4 companies that are more well-known /recognized by the public.* *But some people don’t tend to pay attention because the idols are not apart of the Big 4. There are so many underappreciated/underrecognized main/lead 4th Gen Vocalists in girl groups* •Here are just a few examples *(I mostly included more main vocalists)* Chaehyun from Kep1er, Haram & Suhyeon from Billlie, Goeun, Swan & Chaein from Purple Kiss, Nvee from Blackswan, Belle from Kiss of life, Monday from Weeekly, Hwiseo from Hi-key, Aran & Sio from Fifty Fifty, Nayoung from Lightsum, some of Members from Class.y (like Chaewon) some of the members from Lapillus (like Bessie & Yue) and many more groups that are still active & or disbanded.
When people say that the 4th generation lacks good vocals, you tell them that you don't pay attention to the good ones but this argument is flawed because you literally just admitted that the popular groups have weak vocals. If you cared more about people actually being able to sing, some of these wouldn't have even been able to achieve half the success they did. So if the 4th generation is really so good at singing, why do you never hype up the good singers? Exactly, because you don't care for them. Not to mention, some of the people you think are good vocalists actually either just can sing really high (mostly while straining their high notes) or shine in their respective groups only because the rest are bad. The 4th generation lacks good vocals because of the insane emphasis on stage presence and dancing. Hell, I'd say the decline in singing started in the 3rd generation but at least they were able to hold a tune. Now, we have literally tone-deaf people debuting just because they look pretty.
1. I agree wholeheartedly. I do think that this discussion is basically borderline pointless and that by now, even if Chaehyun is the official center, Xiaoting is (maybe rightfully so) already practically treated as more of a center than her so why complaining about something that practically doesn't even influence on something on the actual group and its members? 2. I KNOW RIGHT??? I already saw people bragging about their faves making into billboards top like that it's the most big deal ever. Of course, that is good but indeed, it will never hold the same power as being big in their own country. Firstly because it's their country, secondly because it's the country that gives them the most profit before Japan and China and third because it will definitely give them a lot of more benefits like future careers outside of a group such as turning into actors, maybe going to another group or becoming a soloist. I feel like people think that international/global popularity is everything and there's no way that an artist/idol/musician might be satisfied with just being popular in their own country, (or even continent, region and whatsoever) because everyone in the world needs to know them and if they don't, they essentially failed their careers. And I agree completely with your points there, it's true that Japan and Korea (and Asia as a whole, especially China) are definitely the countries that invests and gives Kpop the most revenue possible so I do think that it's only fair for them to prioritize and invest more there because let's be honest, I-fans don't hold the same power that Korean and for extension, Asian fans do. If not, they wouldn't give K-netz opinions into consideration a lot more. That is exactly why I didn't got so upset over R U Next?'s lineup, I already expected that they would prioritize the Korean and Japanese fans a whole lot than the international ones. Although yes, it was still messed up for them to sell this idea of a global group in the first place just to basically throw all of that out some episodes later so it's totally valid to feel like you just had your time wasted. I feel like, if they already made it clear that they wanted an Asian focused group with the help of asian fans (in specific, the Korean and Japanese ones) and the judges, then I think that no one would have a problem with the lineup because firstly, it's their right and secondly, that would have spared a lot of the viewers time. 4. True, there's no way that these are just about a simple Macaroni cheese and it shows because why would dropping it on someone's body be something innocent, right? That made me pretty disappointed because the song is really good and the girls are so pretty and talented. However, I will stay tuned to them and I just hope that they will review their music better in the future so that things like this doesn't happen anymore. :( And 5. WOOOW, habla mesmo! People like to complain about how it's always the same rigging situation but then goes to watch the next survival show. Like gurl, make your mind up. And true, being an Idol is not just about singing and dancing because if you're a idol, you're basically also a performer/entertainer so a lot of other factors might be taken into consideration to debut someone like you said, and it counts whether it is by debuting by training normally or through survival shows. Also they're the professional ones, they live in that environment and most likely must know what they're doing.
Xiaoting’s case is not about centre because who cares when she can be noticed clearly anywhere. The major dispute is the line distribution, and she finally got a complete full line in Galileo
i think that the thing with "tiktok songs" is that now producers only try to make that, there was always a balance between silly songs and serious songs, but now producers see how good "tiktok songs" they try to create that but hey, what do i know?
Opinion 5: AGREED. Can I also add onto that: the evil editing excuse for every questionable/unlikable thing an idol does or says on survival shows is tired af. Yes of course Mnet will edit shows to favor certain members (esp when they can no longer rig it) but saying each time a foreign trainee is shown in a less-than-positive way is bc Mnet is editing it that way is just NOT true.
About Runext: the thing is, if you Watch the show It is VERY clear that talent was never taken into account. Nobody needs a degree in vocals and dance to see that contestants like Jiwoo and Chanelle we’re way more developped and ready to debut than Wonhee, Moka and Iroha yet they didnt. What’s frustrating is that they kept changing the rules of voting last minute up to the finale to assure that the lineup hybe wanted would happen. At least with mnet show you knew from the beginning how voting would work. In short it’s not that the final lineup is horrible, but that hybe should have just selected and debuted the members they wanted from the beginning without making a survival show if It was going to be like this anyway.
Yes i agree and that's why i also said that's it's naive for kpop stans to expect judges to pick trainees only based on talent. This just won't happen because at the end of the day they will pick who they want based on many reasons and they can still be just as biased as the viewers 😞
the show purpose is for the upcoming group to gain fanbase traction as fast as possible and nothing more. for jiwoo, its to be expected cause they need to secure their investment returns and age is an obvious indicator within their parameter for the decision making.
Pandering to knetizens (especially when they cancel a member over something we deem as nothing) seems ridiculous to us foreigners but it's a monster the kpop companies created and cannot control and are too afraid of to face head on.
About the survival show: what i hate is how its apparently okay to go around, saying the show was rigged just because the most popular contestant or your fav isnt in the lineup. Like-no,you are not a judge and even if internationally that contestant was popular maybe no one cared about them in korea. Get over it. (This is not targeted to the creator, but just orher people)
Exactly. Then they go around saying that they'd never watch survival shows again. Girl, you'll see them flooding to the next survival show once it's announced again. Just pathetic
For opinion number 5 I do agree we need to come to a consensus about survival shows, but I think the issue with r u next specifically was that they led viewers to believe our votes mattered, but the judges votes basically overruled that. It should've been a half and half thing because the way eliminations worked the number of fan votes did next to nothing.
I totally agree with you with the young posse opinion. I also think there are other cases in K-pop where groups with minors have had innapropriate lyrics or sexual innuendos and no one’s really mentioned them. Like fever by Enhypen for example, Niki was a minor when that song released and I’m pretty sure Jungwon was too but I’m not sure. Also Enhypen released bite me recently and Niki was still a minor?? And this isn’t the only example either there’s others like ice cream cake by red velvet. It’s really disgusting how this is pretty common and I think it’s only getting worse because what if another company decides to copy what’s happened with new jeans cookie and young posse macaroni cheese? It just disgusts me
@@vixxexo6855 outdances but still manages to be the weakest main dancer in the group with even the lead dancers yeseo and youngeun being better than her. outraps but none of kep1er can rap anyways except for hikaru and dayeon. only thing shes actually pretty far ahead in is sp, and she still doesnt manage to be the best in the group, yeseo and hikaru easily outperformed her. meanwhile nobody, not even youngeun, the supposed other main vocalist, comes close to having chaehyuns vocal ability. she is more talented.
@chuuwantsomeofthis im not a solo stan, chaehyuns not even my bias lmao. its just dumb she gets hate all the time for being the center of the group... like yall are the ones who voted her so much she got 1st rank, and now yall are mad because she got center which is because of the fact that she got so many votes she was rank 1... like what?
if i am not wrong the members of Young Posse wrote the lyrics for the Song. Like This really shows the song reflects their age and just because something sounds suggestive , that doesn't mean it has to be taken as an innuendo. Them singing the song like this is a sign to the kind of music teenagers listen to and their music taste. The song is plainly about macaroni cheese. Their point was to make the song sound addictive and they did it. I hope this fact spreads more
Everyone has decided to keep quiet about this young posse situation but when it was newjeans they ran WILD. I thought kpop stans cared about minors. Why aren't they protesting everywhere to boycott this group right now
I feel like some companies are purposely putting controversial lyrics to gain traction esp with what happened with Cookie. For Christ's sake, I don't typically associate everything with sexual things but any adults would know that Cookie song is a sexual innuendo. They made NJ to say it's just about Cookie when the SONGWRITERS are adults?? Come'on.. We ain't that stupid. Now DSP seemed to use the marketing strategy from HYBE. Without this controversy, I wouldn't have known about Young Posse AT ALL. So pretty much, they reached their objective.
honestly I've fully ignored the young posse group just because the song title and group name sounds like a joke... but like bfr. Super young minors too???? Can we stop giving this stuff the attention that makes it seem appealing to companies to do? It's disgusting. I totally agree with your sentiment to say that you disagree with something (debuting minors for example) once and then ignore it, because that's the only way to not give them any publicity. I wish K-pop stans were better at that. They honestly act like toddlers so often Anyways good opinion video as always, spitting straight facts. I do wish however, understanding that k-pop is ofc multifaceted in skills, that companies invested in good singing lessons for their idols because at the end of the day, bare basics they are singers.
The members were heavily involved in the song writing, this even includes the melody and singing style of the song. and YOUNG POSSE acccording to wiki: The name Young Posse is derived from the word "posse" which is a Latin word meaning "be able to". Together, the name Young Posse represents "a young group (of girls) gathered together with a purpose". So yeah. Like i feel minors shouldn't be debuting , but at the same time these girls are probably desperate to debut, they always have that choice to back out if they don't want to debut. The problem , is the industry isn't considerate of minors
Yea kpop is more popular in America but I don’t think it’s as mainstream as people think. Like people really only seem to just know what kpop is and Bts x bp but don’t actually listen to them since their fanbases are still the one doing stuff for them not the general public
You can't really expect for american gp to listen to kpop tho. That's stupid in the first place. It's sang in a language they don't understand and can't sing half of it. Even asian gp don't listen to kpop as much as you think. The same can be said with korean gp. You might not know this, that sometimes, even korean gp can't hear what the lyrics are. Kpop has too much noise.
exactly! xiaoting is my bias and i think she fits the center but like what is the point of constantly pointing out that she deserves the spot better than x and y when she gets the role appropriate to her skillset anyways????? what's the point other than shading her own group member????? macaroni cheese is just bad. like sounds bad and unenjoyable on top of the lyrics being inappropriate. DSP messed up big time. SHUT UPPP you read my mind!!!!! 2nd gen songs would do sooooooo well on tiktok and this isn't even a drag these are all bops, like even pretty girl and mr by kara taking over tiktok ah the vision!
About domestic vs. international popularity: people forget how idols actually make money. Album sales are important, but there are also other, probably more important sources of income - advertizing contracts and concerts. And you need to be popular in one, specific market to be able to get a good advertizing contract or sell tickets to concerts. Being in top 10 of one market is better than being top 200 in 100 markets, because it brings more opportunities. Simply speaking - it's better to be a top star in one country than being an almost nugu in 100 countries. You will be invited to TV shows, galas, concerts, you will be highly paid for advertising products, you will get much more chances of showcasing your music.
I can understand what you're trying to tell on 3rd opinion Ik you're talking about company's perspective I can't understand what's the company obsession with highnotes Like what's the use of hitting them when you'll end up straining it Eg :- Yuqi is better than Minnie nd can actually support her notes but still Minnie has main vocal Its not smthg new but seriously companies need to consider vocal support etc more while giving positions to idols

@@kahilmclaurin7800 This makes it better because we know with what intentions the song is made and it was interpreted the wrong way. The members also came up with the whole concept. They were just talking about macaroni cheese. and it sounds well it's just the singing technique.
The only one's I disagree with are the ones about Young Posse and R U Next (but only slightly). Like with Young Posse, people are DEFINITELY talking about it. Every time I get online I see people speaking about it negatively. HOWEVER, I see a lot more people defending this one way more than Cookie. Like people acted like Cookie was the worst invention and yes you can clearly tell it's about sexual stuff, as the feminine region lol gets referred to as cookie, but so does Mac and cheese. Like before I even saw that it was a Kpop group, heard the song or saw the lyrics, my immediate thought was sex. Because EVERYONE compares sex to Mac and cheese. The lyrics are obviously a spin on that. I mean a lot of idols have come out and said that songs about food are definitely not about food. Like that's why I only half disagree because people are talking about it, but I think it's mainly Americans. A lot of comments I saw defending it kept saying "Americans are all dirty minded and keep trying to make Kpop western and sexual" but I ain't about to argue with them. With RUNEXT, and you spoke on it which I guess not disagreeing with YOU but others like Judges are VERY biased. In survival shows in practice rooms they SHOW judges being biased towards people because they're cute. Like literally that's it no talent but they're cute. All judges are biased but the industry like you said is more than just the music. If it was only about the music we wouldn't have certain celebrities and the quality of music would be a lot better overall, but it's definitely about looks and aesthetics especially now. But I HEAVILY agree with the fourth gen one TT. Like I like 1st-3rd gen more, most of my favorite groups being first and third gen groups, and of course I PREFER other generations due to the heavy vocals and not just empty choruses (mainly 3rd). But 4th gen isn't ass. Like I'm EATING up every Itzy and IVE comeback. I feel like the only person that likes Treasure's music. I like noise music (although I do feel like Stray Kids is hit or miss like some comebacks slap and the others I'm like yeah unreleased this noise). Like are there things I miss about other generations, yes. Mainly how you mentioned the "tiktok" songs. Cute fun songs that were just there to be catchy and banned from being played before exams. Fourth gen has a lot of good dancers and vocalists. Like you said PURPLE KISS' VOCAL LINE!!!! However I do think people pay more attention to big 3 and while they aren't bad again Aespa can sing, Itzy can dance but there are groups outside of SM and JYP (because it's always those groups along with IVE) that are VERY talented and would be heavily liked by 2nd-3rd gen Stans. But I do think tiktok music then and tiktok music now is very different. That was just the genre of music back then TT. For me personally, it's mainly when I see older idols hop on the trend. Like idc about Riize having a cute song to do a tiktok challenge to but why is Hyoyeon watering down her amazing dancing to do a tiktok challenge with 40 people?
Groups like Young Posse or songs like their debut , 16y/o doing inappropriate choreos kinda makes me go away from Kpop as a whole...though I know I should NOT do this cuz other groups exist
I wouldn't say that no one wasnt talking about Young Posse. Nugu Promoter stopped promoting the song after a few of us raised concerns about the lyrics
@mans5676 just bc they wrote it doesn't matter. Ppl write things all the time w/o knowing it could have a double meaning or inappropriate connotations. All this shows is that DSP doesn't care about the members and won't monitor any inappropriate behavior around them. The adults under the company should have stepped in and revised the lyrics and let the members know how the lyrics would be seen but instead, they continued as is and pushed the "It's written by the members" bc they knew ppl would defend it with no care, like you are now.
@@kcxkassy8602 TBH someone must have raised an issue and the company knows very well that it would have backlashed, I think the members convinced the company and gave context. After a few years if a song like this comes out from a rookie group no one would raise an issue. TBH the members probably knew what they were doing. And this just reflects the music taste of current teenagers. Maybe if all the members were around the same age , like 2004-5 born this would have been less of a issue. But the reality is teenagers are way more mature for their age and this is the kind of music they are being exposed to
@mans5676 it doesn't matter about how mature the members are or if they explained what they meant well. With a 13/14-year-old in the group, there has to be a certain level of consideration met and it wasn't. At the end of the day, the company has the final say and they could have said no but they saw an opportunity to garner attention, forgetting (or ignoring) that this song could/will define them as a group. To be honest, we know DSP doesn't have the best intentions bc they would have put more care into the group conceptually (I mean name, song, everything) but it's clear that they saw the "success" of njs and wanted to replicate it.
@@kcxkassy8602 tbh it was not even the entire lyrics that was an issue , but certain lines of the lyrics . Like most of it could be interpreted as a person having macaroni Cheese and how they feel having it. Maybe some of the lyrics which were ambiguous could have been revised. But most of it seemed normal , considering they meant the literal thing . Like the song itself is fun to listen if we consider the literal context of the song. But young posse doing this rn reflects the kind of music teenagers these days listen to . Like even if the lyrics were a bit cleaner with the same singing style , people would still raise an issue. This singing style is going to be pushed in the forward for rookie groups. The girls even came up with the concept so , they had a whole idea in mind making this song . Like they needed more supervision with the lyrics , but again these girls were trying to make a bomb of a song out of it
while i agree with some things in the tiktok song take, it’s just plain wrong to claim tiktok hasn’t had a drastic affect on the kind of music groups are putting out nowadays. it’s rare to see groups make proper songs anymore that aren’t simply meant to be a dance challenge and become a viral tiktok song, instead of to be streamed and praised for its artistry. it has also affected the production of quality, interesting choreographies and performances. it okay for a group to release an easy going catchy song every now and then simply meant for fans to dance along to and get stuck in their head, but i barley see any throughly and well produced songs and concepts anymore. tbh it just seems like ur sick of ppl calling ur music taste “tiktok songs”…. so r acting as if there hasn’t been a massive shift in music quality.
To be honest, I believe that people were only quick to call on NewJeans and MHJ because they’re popular and breaking records. Also they’re under HYBE along with BTS and they hate BTS. If Young Posse were under the same company, you best believe people would be quick to call out MHJ.

And because they aren’t from a big company. But, I do find it hypocritical some people who were calling out New Jeans, are defending Young Posse just because their member wrote the song, like that makes it any better (it doesn’t).
Like why are people so obsessed with writing credits Even in vocal , vocal support matters Even in rap! Just bcz someone writes that doesn't mean they will be better lmao Like rap is literally about Flow & Delivery that's the most imp thing Someone who don't write but has great Flow nd delivery would be better than the one who don't have good flow but write
@Cryforme- I agree with you except for the rap part...it has to be a balance of both. Even if someone has a better flow, if they don't write it doesn't make them a true rapper....and even if someone writes, if they don't have a good flow their not a true rapper either. There is a reason their more singers than rappers....a lot of people can be singers but not many people can be rappers because no matter the genre A rapper is a musician who writes and performs rap or hip-hop music. Many musicians become rappers when they can write intricate lyrics and speak or sing very quickly and in rhythm. If you enjoy hip-hop music and have strong performance and writing skills, you might consider a career.
@@dee_deeer Yes but the main aspect should be flow & delivery Ofc the rappers who write+ have good flow will be the best But if we consider a idol A who don't write but have good flow & on the other side w consider someone who don't have good flow but can write In this case the idol who have good flow nd can't write will be better than the one who write but have weak flow
@Cryforme- I agree with u on that part; When it comes to idol rapping, then that can be the case But overall any idol that can have flow and we'll thought lyrics would be a true rapper that understands their technique ( I'm not trying to start fanwars ols) example BTS rapline, Skz rapline and for female the only one I know of that fits that description is Soyoen For idol rapping, I could say BP rappers (their only one's I know of for now)
@taeynv_ honestly, I'm not sure yet...since I don't know most K-pop groups and just got to into K-pop not long ago... but so far, I've seen or heard yet, but most of the time, what I've seen is rappers rapping in songs they shouldn't rap in......most of the time the rap isn't bad but because it doesn't work with the song people label it is as bad and example is Twice (I'm a once) I don't hate their raps but people do because (coreect me if I'm wrong) the rappers don't wrote most or all if their songs the structure of their raps so their raps either doesn't suit their flow or the song entirely.......on the opposite end since BTS rapline write some to most of their songs and work with people that know and are used to their flow and lyricism they write and structure song around and with their rapping to make it work and be much coherent and doesn't sound forced...

Although I'm American, I COMPLETELY agree with you!! A lot of people think that America is center of everything, when really it's not!

@@uwuinternallyscreaming7644but u guys will still watch content with minors in it outside of kpop so it sounds hypocritical

I'm not a singer or a vocal coach
And i agree with you
however i think that the case of opinion 3 is apply mostly when the main vocalist have a higher and powerful voice than the stronger vocalist of the group (like everglow or dreamcacher) ant it's mostly in weak groups vocal wise
But there are groups like BTS or itzy where the main vocalist is the stronger vocalist but isn't mostly the on charge of the high notes

But since 2015/2016 they began to do more mainstream music, their music is more vocal orientated now, their have high note but more on the emotion and stylistic than the real powerhouse vocal

you guys aren't organic according to the big o.
Whatever that means.
Exactly. Auto tune is used a lot in K-pop to make high notes sound better and to raise female idols’ notes to a point where it’s out of their range.
For the main vocalist it depends of the agency some like Hybe or JYP will give the main vocalist the main vocalist to stronger vocalist technique wise but but give the high note to the member with the highest voice (ex : BTS and Itzy, main vocalist are Jungkook and Lia but Jimin and Yeji a in charge of the high notes)
Other like SM where the main vocalist is the stronger and sing high notes along the lead vocalist (and sometime the others vocalists if they can)
But some group like Everglow or DC follow the logic that the main vocal is the one who have the highest voice.
Siyeon’s voice also fits Dreamcatcher’s rock concept more then Yoohyeon. Yoohyeon suits pop more then rock. While Siyeon has the most rock like voice. Also Siyeon has good technique, it is just she has more rock influence.
For me opinion 3 DEPENDS just cuz i see ppl with highnotes but it kinda sounds more of screaming than vocals!😭

Yeah there is so many good 4th gen vocalists but some people chose to ignore them 😕
*Yes,I agree there are so many great 4th gen vocalists that have great vocal technique and are not only just from Big 4 Companies/and or from non-big 4 companies that are more well-known /recognized by the public.*
*But some people don’t tend to pay attention because the idols are not apart of the Big 4. There are so many underappreciated/underrecognized main/lead 4th Gen Vocalists in girl groups*
•Here are just a few examples *(I mostly included more main vocalists)*
Chaehyun from Kep1er, Haram & Suhyeon from Billlie, Goeun, Swan & Chaein from Purple Kiss, Nvee from Blackswan, Belle from Kiss of life, Monday from Weeekly, Hwiseo from Hi-key, Aran & Sio from Fifty Fifty, Nayoung from Lightsum, some of Members from Class.y (like Chaewon) some of the members from Lapillus (like Bessie & Yue) and many more groups that are still active & or disbanded.

And 5.
“go and stan a songwriter” LMAO YES
For the survival shows votes the more fair to me is :
50% votes of juges
50% votes of public
And within the public vote : 50% korean and 50% global
After seeing the show Soyeon was on, yes, we need jugdes votes to be incorporated. It will be manipulated and rigged to an exgend anyway, but oh well
why are ur opinions so perfect
i just want every twitter stan to be like u
Xiaoting’s case is not about centre because who cares when she can be noticed clearly anywhere. The major dispute is the line distribution, and she finally got a complete full line in Galileo
i think that the thing with "tiktok songs" is that now producers only try to make that, there was always a balance between silly songs and serious songs, but now producers see how good "tiktok songs" they try to create that
but hey, what do i know?
Internal judges can be pressured by the management to pick which participants get to debut. Who knows what happened behind the scenes.
i don't get young posse's name either
Very true, it sounds like young p****y
I know right, like who do you even pronounce it?
is it "young pose" or is it "young posseay" 😭😭😭
@@taeynv_ Exactly, I pronounce it as young p****Because english is not my first language
@@taeynv_ i think its pronounced "young po-say"
@@taeynv_ it's "pah-see"
Pandering to knetizens (especially when they cancel a member over something we deem as nothing) seems ridiculous to us foreigners but it's a monster the kpop companies created and cannot control and are too afraid of to face head on.
It just disgusts me
0:29 LOUDER!!! xiaoting stans cant go 5 seconds without hating on chaehyun, theyre just mad shes more talented than their fave 🤭
Xiaoting outdances, has better stage presence, is pretty and outraps Chaehyun. Chaehyun only has better vocals and nothing else.
Why aren't they protesting everywhere to boycott this group right now
Probably because in order to stop those company debut minors is by ignoring them and that's what everyone was trying rn?
I think it’s because one came from a bigger company.
The members were heavily involved in the song writing, this even includes the melody and singing style of the song.
Thank you for making this video! The 8th opinion yess!!!
honestly I've fully ignored the young posse group just because the song title and group name sounds like a joke... but like bfr. They honestly act like toddlers so often
Anyways good opinion video as always, spitting straight facts.
Reddit stans will never accept the #2 no matter how hard we tried to explained. In general Reddit is very American centric.
Im the 127th like 😍😍
@chuuwantsomeofthis IN MY BAGGY JEANS!!
I can understand what you're trying to tell on 3rd opinion
Ik you're talking about company's perspective
I can't understand what's the company obsession with highnotes
Like what's the use of hitting them when you'll end up straining it
Eg :- Yuqi is better than Minnie nd can actually support her notes but still Minnie has main vocal
Its not smthg new but seriously companies need to consider vocal support etc more while giving positions to idols
No,but as a neverland,Minnie's highnotes are amazing and powerful
love your intro!
Ugh finally someone with their own takes. I disagree with some things here but thats GOOD. If I wanted to hear my own opinions said to me, Id sent a voice note in a GC and just listen back to it 😂
Im gonna check our ur other stuff
Young Posse’s lyrics are wild, I cannot believe they said that; the MV was already questionable, but the translation is horrid💔💢
The members were heavily involved in the song writing, this even includes the melody and singing style of the song.
@@mans5676 and do you think that makes this situation any better ?!😅
I think we need to do some major reflecting here; I can’t believe they released this💢💔
You info actually makes it WORSE😭💢💔
@@kahilmclaurin7800 This makes it better because we know with what intentions the song is made and it was interpreted the wrong way. The members also came up with the whole concept. They were just talking about macaroni cheese. and it sounds well it's just the singing technique.
i agree with you!
The discussion about domestic & international success is one that happens only in English speaking countries istg.
In young posse's mv, theres a tattooo on the lip that says no goalie. It makes me very uncomfortable
Heavy on opinion 2
The voice changer coupled with 'young posse' really really really sound like young psy...dang
I wouldn't say that no one wasnt talking about Young Posse. Nugu Promoter stopped promoting the song after a few of us raised concerns about the lyrics
The members were heavily involved in the song writing, this even includes the melody and singing style of the song.
Like they needed more supervision with the lyrics , but again these girls were trying to make a bomb of a song out of it
i have to heavily agree on opinion 6😭
while i agree with some things in the tiktok song take, it’s just plain wrong to claim tiktok hasn’t had a drastic affect on the kind of music groups are putting out nowadays.
it’s rare to see groups make proper songs anymore that aren’t simply meant to be a dance challenge and become a viral tiktok song, instead of to be streamed and praised for its artistry.
it has also affected the production of quality, interesting choreographies and performances.
it okay for a group to release an easy going catchy song every now and then simply meant for fans to dance along to and get stuck in their head, but i barley see any throughly and well produced songs and concepts anymore. tbh it just seems like ur sick of ppl calling ur music taste “tiktok songs”…. so r acting as if there hasn’t been a massive shift in music quality.
and you spilled
opinion 5 YES OMG
2:42 this makes ZERO sense
😂i could not stop laughing at the 4th opinion bc the voice
Wooooooo
To be honest, I believe that people were only quick to call on NewJeans and MHJ because they’re popular and breaking records. Also they’re under HYBE along with BTS and they hate BTS. If Young Posse were under the same company, you best believe people would be quick to call out MHJ.
This is such an ignorant comment. It had nothing to do with them being successful, breaking records, or because they hate BTS..
@@aeeeeeeeecidBffr. Why else were NewJeans getting targeted and not Young Posse? Kpop stans love Macaroni Cheese and call it nostalgic and camp, but were mad at Cookie.
@@neb.9489 You need to be for real. Get out of the it’s because they are breaking awards and their famous mindset. The reason is because people think it’s a valid excuse to go after them since the members took part in the writing process (which doesn’t and that’s a lame excuse). And like you said, if they were under HYBE, they would’ve been called out more, which isn’t the case.
@@aeeeeeeeecid"a valid EXCUSE to go after them" and why would they search for an excuse if not for jealousy and feeling threatened because of them breaking records or because they are BTSs little sisters?
On the one hand you say that the OP was write and then the more you write the more you agree with them? English isn't my first language so maybe I am missing smth?
@@multifan6679 Yeah looks like I confused my comment lol. I meant the reason why Young Posse isn’t get called out as much (or more so getting a pass) because their member wrote the song. And because they aren’t from a big company. But, I do find it hypocritical some people who were calling out New Jeans, are defending Young Posse just because their member wrote the song, like that makes it any better (it doesn’t).
Unrelated but I thought your name was pronounced as soft 4 tang like the powdered drink 😶😶😭😭
Like why are people so obsessed with writing credits
Even in vocal , vocal support matters
Even in rap! Just bcz someone writes that doesn't mean they will be better lmao
Like rap is literally about Flow & Delivery that's the most imp thing
Someone who don't write but has great Flow nd delivery would be better than the one who don't have good flow but write
@@dee_deeer Yes but the main aspect should be flow & delivery
Ofc the rappers who write+ have good flow will be the best
But if we consider a idol A who don't write but have good flow & on the other side w consider someone who don't have good flow but can write
In this case the idol who have good flow nd can't write will be better than the one who write but have weak flow
@Cryforme- I agree with u on that part; When it comes to idol rapping, then that can be the case
But overall any idol that can have flow and we'll thought lyrics would be a true rapper that understands their technique ( I'm not trying to start fanwars ols) example BTS rapline, Skz rapline and for female the only one I know of that fits that description is Soyoen
For idol rapping, I could say BP rappers (their only one's I know of for now)
Can you give an example of an idol that writes their own raps but have a bad flow?
NewJeans got so much hate for their debut because they were from hybe and NOT mainly because they were minors or their debut song like lets admit it
some of my opinions these r not rlly relevant to the video but these r things i always wanted to say
FIRST army and blinks both these fandoms should know how to respect eachother they are always fighting and hating on each of the groups members WE ALL KNOW THAT BTS IS THE BIGGEST BOY GROUP AND HAS PAVED THE WAY FOR KPOP BUT IT IS ALSO A FACT THAT BLACKPINK IS THE BIGGEST GIRL GROUP the lyric in their song the girls ‘paved the way’ made so many armys mad and made them hate the song but the thing is ITS JS A SONG and also its not like bts promoted blackpink or smthing they got famous and well know bcs they had talent
Its true that bts made it big but blacpink did pave the way for GIRL groups
ANOTHER THING IS COMPARING IDOLS this gotta be the shi11est thing a fan can do like get over urselves
Comparing them and fighting over whos better wont get u anywhere in life lile SRSLY THEY NEED TO STOP the constant comparison and whats with thr copying shit aint nobody copied anyone even if someone did shu1 up
Like why say illit copied new jeans and babymonster copied blacpink THEY R FROM THE SAME COMPANY STOP BLAMING THE IDOLS AND IF SOMEONE IS GOOD WITH THE CONCEPT LET THEM DO IT CONCEPTS ARENT OWNED BY GROUPS
omg so early???
hiiii 😊
these opinions are as mild as babybel cheese lol
The young posse i heard about in a short and i found it disgustig even more than NewJean, and even the name is awfully disgusting.
