This worked for me. After my Nvidia graphics got damaged, I removed that and was using the inbuilt graphics and the display was stretched. I tried many things but it was not showing the 1600*900 resolution. So, tried this method and it worked for me. Thank you so much.
Another solution if the others didn't work : Go to "device manager" (type at the search bar "device manager") click the arrow of the Display adapter category, right click on your gpu/ipu (the first selection) and click enable, If you didn't see the enable button just go to properties and enable it from there! Hopefully that help. Thanks!

Hi am using remote desktop and have access thru vnc as well as RDC. Am also having the problem that I can't change the resolution when I right click on desktop and go to display. It shows under Device Manager> Display adapters as "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter". I want to install "Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630". So that am able to change resolutions. Could pls help me can I do so and how?

Guys just go to ur nvidia control panel by right clicking on your desktop and then change your resolution from there...

Not possible, because your display is a generic PnP monitor and it does not support 1080p (1920x1080) resolution.
