Damn! The original Sentai footage had so much action that I wished Saban utilized more of.
The funny thing is ohranger sucked a combination of a natural disaster and a terrorist attack led by a fat man claiming to be Jesus Christ completely ruined it's production and no I'm not kidding
Particularly their first appearance. Great choreography lost opportunity. And it was befitting of the threat the machine empire posed by comparison to Rita and Zed.
This was technically not the first Ohranger fight. You forgot the AMAZING scene where the commander (OhRed) steps in, transform, and then beat the living shit out of everything, taking out both the foot soldiers, the monster of the week and an enemy ship single handedly.
All five didn't henshin together.

The first 10 episodes of Ohranger are pretty dark, after the Tokyo Subway attacks the season was toned down

RIP Jason David Frank as Tommy Oliver just found out he died last year on 2022. Once’s a ranger always a ranger you will be missed super sentai.
The power rangers as you have known them are gone forever.... until the writers decide to provide fans with trips down nostalgia lane and find ways to bring them back for team up adventures.
To be fair, they DID kind of find a way to explain how the originals could come back. The coins that were destroyed were the Ninja Power Coins. The original DIno Coins were never destroyed, just the equipment was due to an overload in the power grid from Rito's attack during the beginning of Season 3 of MMPR. The morphers too were overloaded as a result and caused damage to the coins. This rendered them impractical and dangerous to continue using, plus they had lost their zords. So new powers needed to be obtained. Thus the Ninja Powers.
We see this when Adam returned during an episode of "Power Rangers: In Space". He calls out the Mastodon Powers, not the Ninja Powers. And we can see that the morpher with the Mastodon coin was indeed severely damaged. He continues to have issues with the powers during a battle in this episode as the powers keep fluctuating and causing him physical pain. But it seems to have been repaired by the time "Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive" came about and Adam returned once again, this time having no trouble keeping the powers from fluctuating like they did during his In Space appearance.
So it wasn't a lie that the rangers as we knew them were gone forever. The Power Rangers as per their Ninja Powers WERE gone forever. And the original coins and equipment were believed to be beyond repair. HELL for all we know the Z-wave at the end of In Space could've caused the old morphers to repair themselves due to such an overflow of positive energy. But that's just speculation on my part there.

I can’t believe Gaimon once ruled the Machine Empire before he got most of his body compressed into a treasure chest.

Man, really wish they would have shown a lot more Sentai footage in Power Rangers Zeo. Also, really wish they would have kept Queen Machina the same. Can anyone imagine her freaking out with Alex Borstein's voice? I kept expecting her to break that fan at several points.
Zeo used a lot of Sentai footage, what do you mean?, I do know the last Zeo episodes completely lacked Sentai footage though.

The Japan version is more wierd than I thought, ole? Also what was yellow and pink doing on top of the monster, posing? And the little toys on the monster were just amazing

it's coz of the increase of stamina-uh, chemrails, er- idk ;p
one thing i love about ohranger is their show oh how the suits made them exhausted i recommend any zeo fans to check out ohranger its da shizzle and my favorite of all the sentai/power rangers. the first half of the season goes so hard. they had to tone it down due to a terrorist attack that happened that cramped ohranger style but its still great.
And those skirts! Juri and Momo really work that look. And thank goodness Pink and Yellow are both women this series.
I have finally watched Ohranger and it's AWESOME! Lots of action and it's dark but your right they do tone it down towards the end. They took on a Giant Monster with their weapons no Zords! Now that's BADASS!!!!!
I wouldn't ohranger sucks it's on the list of Sentai seasons that are worse than their power ranger counterparts along with gao ranger which blew its Budget on CGI and go onger which had to compete with rpm

Ohranger- Tokyo is being freaking invaded by the machines! Everything is on fire!
Not to mention that the Barlo Soldiers in Ohranger are basically robot monkeys, due to their movement, with spears and a terrifying roar.
Zeo Ranger's first morph was so short compared to Ohrangers. They could have at least given the Zeo Rangers a actual monster along with the grunts to fight. Also props to Ohranger for destroying a giant on their first morph without the use of Mecha.
Ohranger's regular henshin is a lot faster than Zeo's morph. In Zeo, they literally go down the line for each ranger. In Ohranger, they just show Red, then the other four at the same time...But sometimes they'll just show Red and that's it.

Ohranger is really dramatic
It's kind of funny, because Power Rangers edited Super Sentai footage both to keep it from being too silly _and_ to keep it from being too serious. You can get major mood whiplash going from Super Sentai to Power Rangers or vice versa.
Kudos to them using original footage for the Zeo Rangers debut.
Ohrangers first fight as a group is way more serious and war-like compared to the kid-friendly Zyuranger...this is somewhat on par with Jetman and Turboranger
16:33; This is pretty much the only time we saw this in "Ohranger". By the very next episode, when they transform back into their civilian forms, they're standing upright and there's not a hair out of place. And later on in the series, they're transforming multiple times in a single episode.
I think it was cause they got more training off screen to get used to it
They're all bringing out badass weapons and the pink brings out a shield and then when she's on top of the monster all she does is waive her shield around lol
Interesting, I understand now (lot of years after) why the "Zeo" Rangers have those zords, the Sentai has far more sense and explanation.
I like Sentai because the power rangers when they morph it doesnt look so real and they make wierd sounds when they fight and some Sentai is super cool because their first time being a ranger looks awesome and mplore realistic.
I like the sentai version better, although us will always be my favorite, because of the rich mythology behind the behind the meaning of the rangers powers
Keep in mind guys because of how long the video is and how much potential spoilers there are for both versions Saban might block it on RUclips so I'm also probably post it on Dailymotion. I'll let you know if that happens.

For, for Zeo purposes, it would've been cool to see the Power Rangers take down a monster for once without the aid of their Zords.

I was sad when Zordon revealed the display tubes containing the Old Power Suits and their weapons. Shame the Green Ranger wasn’t in there but it would make sense not to be in there since the Coin was corrupted by Zedd and Rita’s evil.

just because there's no censor, that doesn't automatically make it better...Neverending Story is rated PG so it was censored a lot, but it's better than R rated films like Movie 43 that had no censor.
Ohranger has dramatic elements, yes. But it's just as cheesy as Zeo if not more. Like what kids after being saved from death talk in unison say "Ole" instead of "thank you"?
My point is censorship means nothing, does the story have more interesting character development, story arc, suspense, action, drama, and all around likability? In Ohranger's case, yes.
Censored or not, it's the story that should make a series better.

Yeah, Zeo was great but Ohranger was awesome. We got the watered down version.
One thing I liked what the western version did was showcase their old costumes in tubes. That was kind of cool IMO.
But the Ohrangers and Kakurangers were not related in any way. So it would have been weird to do that in the Sentai version =)

I do enjoyed Power Ranger Zeo myself I’m thinking their suits was by the Ohrangers first before their U. S counterparts
And 40 odd episodes later the Machine empire its fighting Rita and Zedd over who gets to kill Jason.
I liked that. It added the right amount of comedy Zeo needed. Yeah, they tried to have Bulk and Skull say jokes, and they tried to have humorous moments with the Rangers and Machine Empire. But Rita and Zedd in a camper was the funniest shit in that season.
Was this the cut of the video? If not why did they morph if they were already in costume??

I believe this is the first time I liked the Ranger scene more than the Sentai.
Didn't the Ohranger discover their mechas in the first episode? it was also scary to see that peoples are crying and the city is burning...but ı still think zeo okay.
The Choriki Mobiles don't make their first appearance until episode 6, with Ohranger Robo debuting the episode after that, and the battle helmets making their debut the episode after that.

So this sentai series became power rangers zeo I am actually watching the series rangers zeo on Netflix you can tell what parts are sentai footage mostly the shots of them in costume the rest was all American footage I wish I could see the sentai version and compare them but I think I know already which one is better the Japanese version but power rangers zeo is good too I like how they brought Jason back later on another thing I can't wait for is the reboot movie coming out next month I hope it's as good as the Star Trek reboots are.

first of all Nick didn't have rights for PR until 2011. This was all Saban during the time Zeo aired

ok the reason why Nick is using "Go, Go, Power Rangers!" in OP as well as "It's Morhin Time!" is because Saban is using these lines as branding campaigns for the show. It's to advertise the show.

Ohranger makes it seems that there is a constant urgency. Power Ranger s just a happy go lucky show with no real depth what so ever. Why is Power Ranger is even a thing? Just get funimation to dub Super Sentai and we're all happy. Plus, we all know how much of a shitstain Power Ranger Super Megaforce was.

Token Blackguy I'm not a millenial as such. I was about 6 in 1993 when MMPR first hit the screens. The problem I had was that I didn't like the replacements and looking back they really had a choppy season 2.

This’s when I stopped watching Power Rangers. Too much change came too quickly.
I skipped Zeo as a kid. Those outfits looked like such a downgrade.
The only good thing about Zeo is its music. Otherwise it's Ohranger even for the painfully overly dramatic acting all the way.
It's also clear that much time, effort & resources weren't invested for Zeo (or any PR for that matter).
Everything in any PR seems quite indiscriminate, cheap, corny & lame (so to speak).
Even before I discovered that PR was redubbed from the original Japanese Super Sentai I thought it was sh*t. Simply because of the poor effort of redubbed voices, awful cut scenes & poor action sequences of them ownselves.
Super Sentai whilst quite weird & overly dramatic in its acting is in fact significantly better.
I'd rather watch 30 minutes of an episode of Ohranger in its additional weirdness anyday than even a minute of Zeo for that matter.
Even Zeo's totally awesome music falls short of being an embarrassment simply because most of it is Japanese footage---and highly unoriginal for doing so.
That's so biasied, there are really great pr seasons with lots of effort
