No, they didn't. Some planes in Oman Air are parked, and some of them are flying due to rebalancing their financial situation. There are a bunch of A330s still flying in Qatar. Check on them in flight radar 24
Oh really? That sad. I always liked watching the A332 and A333 take-off from Mumbai especially with its twin RR Trent 700's that sound beautiful (nothing compares with it in the Oman Air fleet). I recently saw one a couple of days ago and it might have just been the last A330 to fly out of Mumbai. 😢 (by the way, flight radar still shows an A333 (registration A40-DH) flying as I'm typing this)
Oman…soo many good many memories. Lovely people, beautiful landscape ( wadi tour!) and no overcrowding. Great to see they are still able to keep their authenticity and have not followed (yet) in the footsteps of The Middle Eastern region where over the top has become the norm. Look very much forward to the reviews of your stays there (especially The Al Bustan! 😊). Thank you for the lovely review and so excited to see you gained another 1000 subscribers in less than a week 💪🏼🥳
Forget shorts or flip flops, I love how (you’ll see in the next video) I think I was the only person in Salalah airport not wearing traditional Omani garb. Really beautiful to see a country which has the means to be just about anything still stay true to itself.
I just have a question - was your backpack removed from the floor prior to pushback ? Having that there in an emergency exit seat would definitely be a NO NO in the rest of the world 😮nice video and a decent snack service
Can't remember, but don't think it was. Each country/airline has their own regulations. There's no international rule that says they need to be overhead. Almost all North American carriers allow them to stay under the seat.
I grew up in Oman! It feels so great to see someone appreciate Oman Air. Oman is a hidden gem of the Arab world and is super underrated. Thank you for this amazing video. The new logo looks so classy btw
I have been to the exact same route and the exact same aircraft last year, and I can say that Oman Air never fails to put that beautiful effort on everything. Nice trip report, flip flop traveler!
I do DXB to MNL about 6 times a year in biz. Oman air is by far and away the best value at about 1/3 the price of emirates and 2/3 the cost of PAL. All aisle access. Great food. Great lounge in Muscat. Just the best choice. Will be a real plus when they enter one world alliance!

@@tfft hmm, interesting. I saw a video posted on youtube where they showed no air-vents. That must have been an older A320. Yours must hv been a newer one. I assume.
This Oman Air is the one that started in 1993. I remember them hiring a TON of female flight attendants back then. Oman did not have an industry back then that hired so many females, and suffice to say, it made a lot of males happy back then when they were on layover.
Hi Kevin, When you arrived in Muscat, were you asked for your C0V!D-19 vacc!nat!on card? Or do they have any measures regarding C-19? We were going to go there December 2020, but canceled it due to closed border. Remember the pandem!c? But in 2022, they were requiring people to be vacc!nated AND to quarant!ne for a couple of days. I am fully vacc!nated, but unfortunately we couldn’t quarant!ne for a couple of days. My hubby cannot work remote like I do. Cheers.
Hi Kevin. Another great review. I really like the part about Muscat airport. It looks really smart and modern. Thanks for bringing tyhe review to us🙃🙂❤❤
Watched a some of your first class reviews recently. Have you have tried Garuda Indonesias First Class? Would be curious about your opinion as I really enjoy your style of reviews
Oman Air is brilliant, and half the price of Emirates, I use them to go DXB to BKK, and Manilla, even though it takes anround 2 hours longer, it's more relaxing and less stressful than EK. Omanis are some of the kindest people you could meet, you can tell them by their embroidered skullcap headwear. Great vid, hope you got to Khasab....
I loved that lounge - so familiar! As for Oman Air itself, love the airport and aircraft colours indeed. The hard product was fine, however service was inconsistent. One of my major grievances with them was that on each of the four flights I took, we paid for preferential seating towards the front of the cabin. Yet as soon as take off was complete, the crew seemed to allow some passengers to move to empty seats in the front area. I did not see any payments or transactions. Ultimately, this meant we paid for seats up front only to be crowded out by non-paying customers. Anyway, I would still love to visit the country some time - it really looks stunning!
Great review - of particular interest as I'll probably be doing this route in the next year. Oman isn't the easiest of countries to get around if one wants to avoid driving and the risk of knocking-down a litigious camel. Working Nizwa into an intinerary is proving difficult. Yep - love that colour-scheme and upholstery-fabric choice. It would make one kicking tie!
Nor the cheapest. Everything looks so reasonable. 35 OMR flight 55 OMR transfer… until you realize you need to basically double or triple every number 😅.
Just a glimpse when you get off the plane on their BC. It’s look nice. Thank you Kevin. I watched and liked every VDO but sometimes don’t comment. Keep up krub.
from living in oman for 9 years the first 7 years were in salalah my childhood houses and others. Going to muscat made me cry it had been my childhood there, but luckily tommorow i will go to salalah and see my childhood memeries there :D
Never flown WY & like everyone else I'm aiming to once in oneworld - Think it will be go-to for cheap business to BKK and Europe when required! Good review mate - Keep them coming.
Congrats on your 101k subs! I didn't know you have an aerospace engineering background, but now RUclips is your full-time job? Then you're the 3rd RUclipsr that I know of with an engineering degree. I am almost at my finish line with my career in Mech Eng field, but hey, maybe I can be a YTber when I retire 😂. I hope Boeing gets their act together for everyone's sake. One question: How and what is the best site that you can book mixed flight classes for trips (i.e. business + premium economy from DAL to SIN) instead of being stuck in the same class the entire trip? I want to try out JAL's new premium economy seat from HND to SIN just to test out their claim of full flat leg rest as I can't relax without any foot support (none available with bulkhead seats) and there is no way you can do that if you're 6 feet tall with a front passenger. AA premium economy bulkhead aisle seats is the only airline that has built-in foot rest where I can get comfortable falling asleep. I wonder why other airlines don't have this design request, or is it just me??
I specifically said "I don't moonlight as an aerospace engineer" as in... I'm not an aerospace engineer lol- said in jest to try to prevent a flurry of anti-Boeing comments 😉
@tfft Hahaha....OK noted! I should've paid more attention. Either way, I'll be looking forward to your upcoming videos. Surprisingly, I used to hate flying due to motion sickness but since I tried business class I don't get that anymore, maybe due to lack of sleep. I think I'm allergic to economy class. 24-hour flights can put alot of toll on my body but thankfully I do it once a year to visit family. BTW, I found out the new JAL seats are only for A350 from JFK (I'm I'm DFW) so we'll see if they use the same plane from HND to SIN.
Looks great sometime this year if you have their frequent flyer program you should be able to use it on American Airlines and Alaska because they are going to enter oneworld Alliance like those two. Which means you'll be the only one to be in an Admirals Club Flagship Lounge for domestic travel
That's like answering "would you jump off of this cliff?" without knowing how high the drop was lol. If you're asking if I would make a scored review of a product which I didn't pay for, the answer is no.
Oman Air, along with Starlux is one of those airlines high on my fly-wish list. Beautiful on-board product, stunning livery, sublime boarding music (go and given it a freaking listen) and just classy vibes. I really can't wait for them to join Oneworld this year, for points accrual opportunities and redemptions of course.
I’ve also started making the argument that it’s only a matter of time before Starlux joins Oneworld as well- especially (dare I say definitely) if Cathay ends up leaving.
MCT Airport has definitely changed! I transited through Muscat back in the mid 80's on a BA 742 routing LHR-MCT-KUL-SIN-MEL-BNE! I kind of miss the 'edginess' of the airports back then when you never really knew what you where going to get - they are so 'urbanised' now. Thanks for the review!
So funny about the carry on bag. The reason I also carry on is to save time. I will say, It is nice boarding without worrying about overhead bin space, but I hate the added time on both ends to check in and mostly to wait for bags….in the US that can take a LONG time.
I would rather have less legroom than having no handrest 😅 Oman air is one of those airlines that i find very underrated. Having an ife with great selection?what more can you ask for especially in a domestic flight 😮
Oman is a great place to visit. Oman air is "OK" flown it a couple of times in business and economy. I'd rate Emirates, Qatar and Etihad higher. There's definite signs of cost cutting, though the airport is positively mindful compared to Dubai and the business class lounge is very nice.
Oman Air just retired their entire A330 fleet
No, they didn't. Some planes in Oman Air are parked, and some of them are flying due to rebalancing their financial situation. There are a bunch of A330s still flying in Qatar. Check on them in flight radar 24
