Well thanks....I just toot and have fun...Sergery indeed was a great man, and your transcriptions are excellent....having done a few myself, I know what it takes and you certainly have it....I encouraged Sergey to sell his backing tracks and eventually before his passing he did...I hope YOUR business is going strong.....I've recorded a lot of tunes and always am looking for great new stuff to play.....I sight read everything and seldom ever record a piece twice...so it's once thru and done for me......I always look at your postings....keep having fun....
@@DamianCastillo A-tonality is not my favorite style of music, I prefer a solid melodic line and a great Latin groove....but the interval skips are nothing that my ear can follow...I like to go away from a song singing or whistling it.....no way can I do that with this piece...most can whistle or sing ONE NOTE SAMBA.....not this version... ..jus sayin'....

Interval jumps do not make a piece of music atonal; in this particular song, Ed is just playing the chord changes of the song - utilizing passing notes and a modern bebop vocabulary to outline the chord tones. Clearly, the primary objective of this intro was to demonstrate his outstanding technical skill; not to be whistled or sung by the listener. That part comes later in the song around 30 seconds later if you listen to the rest. Try keeping an open mind when observing and consuming art like this.
