That HKS controller and screen are together: Electronic Boost controller. That black piece in the engine bay should have multiple ports on it to hook boost lines up too.

I ended up finding the install manual for it inside the folder of receipts so it makes more sense!
Outdated tech, however I think we may go for a time appropriate build on the slicktop using old stuff🤔
Almost 100% of all Z32’s I’ve worked on have a rusty battery tray. I took mine off on my garage queen and installed the Z1 tray.
It appears this one had a battery explode😥
Glad the tray was only surface! My slicktops tray is like 2mm thick😆

@06:34, yeah buddy, you are correct, No one should ever be double stabbing a fuse location ith a wire like the previous mechanic did.. why? a fuse has 2 sides, a master side and aslave side. the master side is always feed with +12V, the slave side just leads to the equipment needed protected power. looking at the fuse holder. there is no way to tell which side is slave and which is master without a volt meter. SO... if you accidentally double stabbed your wire. on the master side of the fuse, instead of the slave side of the fuse.. that wire can cause a fire if it ever superceeds the 12amp circut that wire is capable of carrying. esp being that thick of a wire. the fuse will never pop. because the wire is attached to the wrong side of the fuse. almost like bypassing the saftey switch.. this is why this method is NEVER a good idea. unless you use a volt meter first to find out which side of that fuse holder is the master (hot) and which side is the slave side (one that feeds to the equipment, and you would add your extra wire under this side. the slave sde. mastre side will cause fire, slave side will allow the new wire in circut as well as the original wire to be on the saftey of the fuse. master side, the fuse could pop, and that added wire will STILL be geting +12 volts. ie, unprotected cruct with way too big a wire. fire fire fire.
Great info! I take any bit of electrical to heart as its my least strong suit. Thankfully it only powered the wideband gauge.
Worst part is after reading receipts, they paid some shop over $800 in parts and labor to install that🤢🥴

Yes sir! Just a bit more of a niche market with them. My friend Brad has a 86 z31 that we wrench on from time to time.
